Pig ’N’ Whistle - King George Square
Pig ‘N’ Whistle brand has stayed true to its roots. Whilst many bars and pubs around Brisbane have undergone refurbishments, we embrace our authenticity. We are proud to be Brisbane’s most genuinely British pub! Our kitchen serves up hearty, English fare with attention to detail being a key reason why the Pig ‘N’ Whistle brand is renowned throughout Queensland. Our dishes include pub classics such as fish and chips, burgers and pies, whilst also incorporating Modern Australian flavours and techniques.
Very slow for food to arrive.2 of the meals were cold and had to send back.
Had to get drinks from bar due to lack of staff.
It appeared management had not taken into account that a show was on at city hall.
This rating should not affect the staff who were overworked.
We found the noise level with a solo singer quite loud that we couldn't hear each other across the table but they did turn this down once we asked them to. We also ordered food which took nearly an hour to deliver and were asked if we were all finished and happy with our meals before we were even served them. Our meals came out at different times and after people who had ordered after us. We had to cancel one meal as others at the table were nearly finished before there was any sight of our last meal for the table. The food was very expensive for what it was - $30 for 2 small pieces of chicken with a few vegies - value for money was not really what you were paying for - more the location which was convenient for us.
Great live music and awesome staff
Xmas Eve family dinner
The service was terrible . Waiting over 45mins just to receive the food is not acceptable. When we got there , there was not many people so not sure why it took that long. You need to have quicker service during the lunch time period.
Booked table for 6 for 5pm but our order took nearly 1 hour for main. Other tables who ordered way after got their food. Clearly forgot about us. Left us 10mins to throw our food down. Food was beautiful but 10min to eat a $42 steak is a disgrace. No discount or sincere apology.
Waited 40 mins for meals. Others dining with us had to be refunded their meals as they hadn’t arrived by 6pm & we had an event to go to at City Hall.
Enjoyed dinner with friends on a Friday evening, staff were great.
The experience was good, I think for lunch meals (& snacks) the price was way to expensive
Our meals were over cooked the salad was old and brown ,one of the kids meals were not ordered at all do asked for a spare plate that our 3 year old son could share our chips 15 min later they brought out a full plate of chips that cost 9 dollars,we will never go there again
Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. It is a nice and central meeting spot.
Waited 30 mins for drinks and 50 mins for over priced and cold undercooked calamari and nachos which had hardly any toppings on it. Was there for my daughters school ball and sadly soured by a poor dining experience
Always a very reliable location for lunch or dinner. Food is really good, and the outdoor dining vibe on King George Square is always enjoyable.
Dry, tasteless, expensive pre-cooked food. One waitress was friendly and great the other was rude, somber and awful. I think even the burger was pre-cooked it was that bad.
Nice little location, service was average but the food came out quickly once ordered.
we all ordered the big breakfast because of the bubble & squeak that was on it. Very disappointed as it was only tiny frozen patty like a hash brown and was soggy. Lots of bacon, but unfortunately it was swimming in fat. yuk. A very average meal for the $21.00 pricetag.
We had a poor experience with our meal orders which had errors in the main meals.
It was a very busy night with a Rugby Wallabies vs Ireland match on. I would like to commend the staff on how friendly and helpful they were in such an environment. I really appreciated the guidance and communication on when best to take our orders and keeping things rolling so we made the game on time. Service was great. Thank you!!!
Cold food that took forever to arrive. Not enough staff per clientele. Food was rubbish.
Really loved my chilli beef nachos however my husband's chicken salad was quite bland. Staff very accommodating; turned on heater as soon as we arrived. A little expensive on food and drinks.
Our order was very slow and when we received our order everything was stone cold
The venue was very busy and our food order was impacted taking the best part of 50 minutes from order to delivery. I could not fault the staff they were under the pump and were doing their best. The food was tasty and overall we enjoyed the visit.
Value for money was poor. Waited a while for food which was cold. Atmosphere was too loud and unenjoyable.
The service was great, food and drinks came out quickly and were very good. It is a little noisy there to have a conversation but would happily go there again
Had dinner here before attending the Brisbane comedy festival. I am really glad I made a reservation as it was very busy. The food was great, good service , excellent entertainment and reasonably priced.
From the time we arrived to the time we left the service was excellent, the staff very courteous and friendly. The meals were perfect. It was my first time at this particular Pig N Whistle and I will definitely be back !
It was our Staff Christmas Party. Staff were friendly and attentive. Despite it being pretty busy the food came out pretty quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meals. It was good quality, plenty of it and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend it. Would have it there again. Thanks Pig N' Whistle - King George Square. :)
Great food, service a bit slow and drinks expensive but nice spot and would go there again.
The menu is too expensive. There is not a lot to choose from.
My friend and I ordered fish and chips. Forty minutes later the meals hadn't arrived. We were told they'd be ready in ten minutes. They weren't. After an hour waiting we cancelled our order, went to the 7/11, and bought sausage rolls.
Good sausage rolls.
The service was bissmal - the waitress first hounded us for our orders and then asked us to repeat it 4 times then got it wrong!
I sent my steak back as it was overdone.
I won't be returning anytime soon.
Lovely food but small servings.
Very loud with music and people chatting.
Service was ok.
Had an enjoyable meal and time however the venue was a bit noisy for me. I wasn't able to speak to the person directly across from me which meant that we left sooner than anticipated.
Booking was smooth and table was ready when we arrived. NO problems with the service or food. The curry and chicken parma get a thumbs up. The steak was huge.
Not the cheapest place in town but pleasant and the open air feeling is perfect for Brisbane.
The service was very fast and efficient. However the salads provided with the dishes were not fresh and had little to no dressings.
Disappointed as I was 'glutened' after eating my meal despite requesting a gluten free meal for a coeliac.
Loved the choice of British food and the deserts were fantastic
Enjoyable dining with great service and atmosphere.
Fast efficient service! Was going there prior to a show at City Hall was in and out in plenty of time. Would highly recommend.
