Lovely place to celebrate a birthday lunch. Comfortable indoor table with water view, although one could choose a table on the sunny terrace. Fish preparations are always done well. Service was excellent! We arrived promptly at noon, but did not mind the few minute wait while the dining room was still being set up.

I ordered the crab cake appetizer and a side order of sweet potato mash. The crab cakes looked like they came out of a box of frozen. They were just ok, I was disappointed. This was to be my main meal. We ordered the portobello mushroom appetizer, it was very good. My husband ordered the pork chop entree and it was very good but quite small. We both had dessert and a cappuccino. Our bill including 20% tip was $197.00. Will not return. Not good value.

Very disappointed. The place is beautifully decorated. However, the service was slow, the fish I ordered was salty and overcooked, dry. The stuff pork chop had some weird cheese not mozzarella , there was no prosciutto, the mashed potatoes were cold. For the price they charge , one would expect better quality.

This was our first visit since ownership change. We had great hopes, but sadly our expectations were far from met. We (4) were seated promptly. Waiter arrived and took drink orders. Drinks quickly served and we placed our dinner orders. Three salads and one order of baked clams. One salad order was wrong and had to be remade. The clams were on the smaller size but good flavor. It was an hour half later that our mains arrived, only asking twice. Dinner was finally served. I had the roast chicken with vegetables. The vegetables were undercooked and cold/room temperature, not hot. The chicken extremely dry. Two others had the fish which turned out to be floured and fried. No mention on the menu. The last order was steak Diane. Very fatty but okay flavor. First bread basket complimentary but if you want more $3.00. We finished with coffee. They automatically add an extra charge of 20% which is listed on the menu. The restaurant was not busy by any means. We all were hoping for a better experience especially since prices are up as they are all around. Not sure how soon we will be back.

Most of the food was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, the duck was disappointingly dry, especially considering it was one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. Neither the tiramisu, the New York cheesecake, nor the Melba peach dessert met our expectations. They lacked flavor and were not a satisfying way to end an otherwise enjoyable dining experience.

Food is always excellent at Pier 95. We have never had a bad meal there. The most outstanding feature after the food is the waitstaff and the head waiter especially. Friendly, helpful and personable. We often bring a guest from Brazil and he goes out of his way to speak Portuguese to her because she is elderly and speaks no English. Pier 95 has been our favorite restaurant for over 25 years. Kudos to the new owner for keeping the essence alive with a few upgrades of their own. Carol and Ken Simpson
