Pialligo Estate Garden Pavilion
The Garden Pavilions are oriented to provide magnificent views of the Estate’s Vineyards, Olive Grove and Canberra’s skyline featuring Parliament House and Black Mountain tower. Our Garden Pavilions are designed to be enjoyed year round in climate controlled comfort.
The Garden Pavilions are open for a la carte diningas well as private functions. They feature a beautiful fresh menu that showcases seasonal produce from our gardens and other locally sourced products.
There was a delay with mains due to putting plate on wrong table. Waiter offered a round of drinks. Nice gesture.
This is my second time I have been to the estate since learning of the venue in February, I live in Sydney, so will make it a regular stop whenever I am in Canberra. We had the brunch which was beautiful.
This place is so frustrating. It was our second time to visit (within the last 6 months), and both times the food has been very good but the service really poor. Really, really poor. Pialligo charges premium prices for its products, so expectations are high. Unfortunately, arrogant, aloof, disorganised waitstaff have ruined our experiences. Won't be going back anytime soon.
The place is stunning and the ambience is great. Children friendly too. The food is good but not great. I would still recommend the restaurant to friends. Our family enjoyed our time. I will definitely go back
We use to really love going coming to Pilliago, however were disappointed after this last visit - it did not appear that you had enough staff on and staff were rushed, we felt like we were bothering staff, staff seemed unaccomodating to a request for a vegetarian option or order additional drinks and we were hurried out after we finished our meal, provided the bill before we had finished and were asked to leave due to another booking before we had finished our drinks when we had booked a table.
Disappointed in the level of service and treatment of customers.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Pialligo Estate last Sunday. The service was excellent, the food was excellent and the setting was just lovely. We will certainly be going back.
Arrived 12:00, main arrived 1:22. Understand that it was a very full Sunday. May try again on a week day.
The atmosphere was very relaxing and we were made to feel welcome by the attentive and friendly wait staff.
Four of us got the two course brunch which included coffee/tea, which we all agreed was excellent value for money at $35 per person. I had the buttermilk pancakes which had well balanced flavours, and the generous estate breakfast which comes with delicious Pialligo bacon and sausage.
Would highly recommend to anyone.
Perfect for a special night out. We went for our anniversary and the setting was spectacular watching the sunset over black mountain; magic. Food was amazing and the staff were friendly, knowledge and very attentive.
A lovely venue tucked away in picturesque part of Canberra, the food and cocktails were yummy, definitely will be returning for another visit when next in Canberra.
A wonderful relaxing with great ambience and fabulous food choices. WE are return customers.
We had a lovely brunch and received friendly & prompt service. Thank you, a very easy and relaxing experience!
It was really lovely. I do wish they had a bit more variety on thier menu though. Possibly more pasta and chicken options.
The restaurant was freezing, the waiters were very unhelpful, the price is excessive considering the service and atmosphere is awful. I would not recommend Pialligo estate.
Saturday night it was extremely cold at the restaurant. Customers were given blankets but we were still very cold. They need to heat the restaurant for winter. Staff were wearing winter coats. The food and service was excellent. Shame the restaurant was not heated for Canberra's cold climate.
The setting was lovely and food good but on the night we went (a Saturday), our meals took 1.5hrs to be served and my guests were cold in the tent-like dining room. Sadly staff didnt offer to keep us comfortable, bring bread for the table etc and we had to ask for service like menus and drinks. Overall, despite tasty food, we agreed it was disappointing.

Really tasty dishes, which work well as shared plates. Some good local wines which are well worth a try.
It was good value $40 for 2 courses set menu but the entrees weren’t appealing to me (2 salads & terrine) and the terrine was very salty. I much preferred the alternative entree menu online. The main salmon wasdelicious but my mum thought the pasta was a little bland. Absolutely beautiful restaurant and ambience. Service could have been a tad more attentive for your quality of restaurant. It wasn’t that busy either. I would return however. Perfect wedding reception location!
We loved the ambience, the environment, the staff attention.
One of the set menu meal choices - the chicken was a little dry and would have been enhanced with something like a sauce or soft vegetables. Otherwise the food was delicious and beautifully presented.
We will definitely be back!
Food is considerably overpriced. Servings are small.
Quality of food above average.
Not enough staff working when I recently had High tea and lunch.
The food and ambience were amazing. We had trouble getting service though and they forgot our drinks. We had to follow up a couple of times to receive them. Having said that, we still really enjoyed the afternoon. Thank you!
The location of Pialligo is beautiful and the food was quite good- its a shame the service was terrible. As we walked in the door we were barked at “ DO YOU HAVE A BOOKING”. No “ hello” or welcome. After letting her know that yes we did have a booking she directed a waitress to take us to a table which we soon discovered was easily the worst in the venue. Squeezed into a corner with the spare plates, having our table bumped constantly and an entire meal spilt on it at one stage. There were plenty of tables available with beautiful views so why we were crammed into the corner especially after making a booking was a mystery to me. Our food arrived promptly, unfortunately the same could not be said for the drinks because we were finished eating before they finally arrived even though the were ordered at the same time.
For the price the service does not live up to the expectations!!
It took a little while for anyone to come up to us when we first arrived and when she did, she was a little snooty and made us feel like we weren't supposed to be there (ie we didn't book, when we had). The table was also not ready (we arrived on time).
Lovely grounds and views. Food is on the pricey side but well reflected in the quality and taste. Great for a special occasion.
We were celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary and had the most amazing evening. The food was superb, the service was outstanding and the live music was the icing on the cake.
Disappointing. Booked triple birthday celebration on 18 Dec 18 for 6 Mar 19; requesting best table and notifying of dietary [GF overpriced average menu; poor service. Not recommended.
Food description on menu did not represent what came in my plate. Very poor value for money, too expensive for what you get
Brunch for 64th birthday. It was great to be able to talk without too much restaurant noise as in other places. Good delicious and very filling.
The service was second-to-none!!! The atmosphere was stunning!
Booked two weeks in advance, seated in a far corner of one of the side pavilions, shoved unceremoniously against a clear plastic cover. The table itself was a 2 seater, small, and positioned such that I was seated next to rather than across from my partner. Not a good start.
Wait staff young and very attentive. Well dressed and knowledgeable. Excellent there.
Food was rushed and it showed. Cold ragu very obviously heated from frozen or giant batch. Kitchen clearly setup for large groups, not a problem but presentation left much to desire. Sauce watery and lacked flavour. Pasta chewy. Serving size massive.
Pork cheek was about the size of a fish finger and dares to be called a sharing plate. Needless to say it wasn’t shared and I let my girlfriend have the lot. Not good value.
Sourdough uninspiring and paired with plain olive oil.
Oysters were fresh and tasty, best part of the meal tbh.
Coffees very bland. Girlfriends iced latte so watery it wasn’t drinkable.
Sweet potatoe side with lime yoghurt delicious and cooked perfectly. Huge portion.
Overall 3/5 but not worth the $150 bill for two.
Simply superb - faultless
We had a truely beautiful time, just like last time we were there.
The welcome was warm (we were remembered!) and our table was in a great position with the noice level minimal.
Staff were well informed re the menue and their recommendations re amount of share food perfect. The pace of service was excellent.
We highly recommend this restaurant.
Perfect setting for a sunset birthday dinner with my family. The food was amazing!
Food was a delight, fresh and interesting. Beautiful surroundings. Would have been nicer if our table enjoyed the view given that it was pre-booked and it wasn’t so busy.
As amazing as always, and will be going back again soon. We took a client how was from out of town and this place really highlights what Canberra has to offer. Staff remembered me from previous visits, and it was great to feel welcomed in that way.
The food was amazing the scenery was even better but the staff were attentive and food was promptly served and was amazing best Calamari I have ever eaten
We thoroughly enjoyed the night. The food and service was excellent, and we would not hesitate to recommend it as a place to dine
The whole experience was outstanding!. We will definitely go again.
We have previously had a very positive experience at Pialligo Estate with food, service and ambiance. We were accompanied by interstate visitors and were hoping for a similar experience on this occasion. However it did not quite live up to expectations. The first issue related to the restrictive brunch menu which requires you to have 2 courses when one might do. Pancake for example plus omelette are filling dishes. The waitress apologised for this requirement but there was no flexibility to change it. The lunch menu is confusing and is not set out clearly and there was no clear explanation when we asked the waitress. The waitresses while pleasant in manner were not polished eg "Are you done with these plates" is more associated with a cheap cafe than the beautiful, elegant surroundings at Piallago Estate.
