The food was good, but not great. The menu is small, and there were no specials to augment. With a menu so small, I wanted greatness. I did have a solid glass of Rioja and good cocktail after dinner. The brussel sprouts side was memorable. They have kids trying to do upscale dining service and they are super sweet but not trained for the type of place this place WANTS to be. Also, the lighting in the front where we sat is not inviting at all and the space is pretty bare.

Terrible service for a small space. I have never had an Eggs Benedict that had bacon bits in it, awful.

I will not be returning.

I love the farm to table concept. The fresh and healthy food served justifies the focused menu which offers fewer choices but enough varied options to satisfy any mood. Their Parker House rolls, a classic, is a must for starters. For a main course, I ordered the fusilli with squash and brown butter which was over-the-top delicious. A tasty side order of Brussels sprouts was shared by the 4 of us – plenty for all. The Bourbon/chocolate/cherry bread pudding was pleasantly light, the flavors were bright and the texture did not weigh you down. Not to be overlooked, the cocktail menu is creative and well crafted. The service was friendly and efficient. This was my second visit to the restaurant; it won’t be my last.

Overall, a Mecca for Millennials. The food was good but not good value. Prices are expensive for what you get- so value for money is below average. Atmosphere is minimalist; while I liked it, not in a hurry to go back

Great restaurant, great food and value. We love the ambience and we’ve taken three different couples and all have loved it as much as we do. A little gem in Garden City

This was our first visit to Perennial after reading a review in a local paper. We went for an anniversary celebration on a Wednesday evening. My first thought upon arrival was that the ambiance was somewhat lacking and there was literally only one other couple in the restaurant. (No one showed up after that either.) The food itself was excellent and our waiter was attentive and explained everything thoroughly. The wine was local and good, and the beer options on tap were impressive. Having said that, the music was quite loud and strangely inappropriate for the setting. (I'm not sure their target audience wants to sit in a dining room with Rob Base and Bell Biv DeVoe playing quite loudly.) This restaurant has a lot of potential and with a few tweaks could be substantially better.

I went to Perennial on Friday night for a friend’s birthday and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress Angie was great. She guided us through the menu and made helpful suggestions. We started with the parker rolls, the charred corn, the chickpea fries, and the Brussels sprouts. They are hands down the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had and we couldn’t help but order a “refill.” I would suggest going to Perennial while corn is still in season because the corn dish made with cotija cheese and ancho should not be missed. I never had chickpea fries before and couldn’t believe how good they were. I ordered the eggplant dish which is vegan for my entree and I absolutely loved it. It is rare to find delicious vegan options at restaurants. My friends were very happy with the steak, duck, and cheeseburger which had a delicious onion jam and house-cured bacon. We tried both desserts, the bread pudding and the corn gelato. I couldn’t decide which I loved more. Bread pudding is one of my favorite desserts and this was one of the best ones I have ever had. The corn gelato with cornbread, popcorn, and candied hazelnuts, was so inventive. My friend from North Carolina said that the cornbread was better than his grandma’s. The staff all came over to wish my friend a happy birthday including Peter, the chef/ owner. After dinner we moved to the bar and the bartender, Evan was also very friendly and attentive. We tried the basic batch, the pineapple express, and the heart beet which was my favorite. I can’t wait to return!

Contemporary minimalist surrounding...but a friendly, on point serve staff.

Our waiter, Jason, was polished, attentive and informed. We were able to enjoy each course in a relaxed fashion.

While we could have opted for happy hour pricing for our cocktails, we chose sitting at the dining tables and ordered excellent cosmos and a super dry martini.

We began with the Parker House rolls...delicious and light.
Proceeded to the appetizers: cold roasted carrots and Spanish octopus.
Both outstanding. Flavors beautifully layered and composed. The octopus, number one in my travels, was beautifully charred and orchestrated.

We shared an order of duck ragu maccheroni...delicious, with what I believe were thin slivers of super crispy duck skin.

Too full, we brought home a single dessert...bourbon bread pudding...lovely.

Jason easily blended with us and asked how we enjoyed each course and would relate to the chef. . We applauded each course. Only suggestion...pasta sauce a bit too salty.

At the end of our meal, the Chef...Peter...introduced himself. Young, engaging and attentive...he will be a success!
