Pearl District - Sherman Oaks
Huge portions of delicious food in a beautiful setting
Food was fantastic. Waiter was great answered all questions and suggested great wine to pair with the food. Definently will go back
We only had starters, ahi tuna, brussel sprouts, both were delicious. It is pretty expensive but it is not casual dining. Our waitress, Britney, was fun, efficient and competent. Will go back.
We all enjoyed our meals.
as usual great experience.. it was our 4th visit. We can’t be happier to have a restaurant so close to our home That we also really love.. will go back very soon
Would love to have more wine by the glass choices, especially Chardonnay.
Great wine list, better service and a warm soothing atmosphere. Recommend!
The food is on point here at the second location of Pearl District in Sherman Oaks. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, but a must try is the Grilled Octopus Appetizer. Our server was a ittle lackadaisical, but it was alright because we were engrossed in conversation. The decor is great.Definitely give them a try and if they have the crab cake appetizer as a special, order both the Octopus and the Crab Cake and call it a night!
Lovely in every way
Service - Ryan was attentive, helpful with suggestions and friendly.
Food - salt and pepper shrimp and scallops for entree were fabulous. My husband had the tomato stack and venison. Also wonderful.
Ambiance - not terribly noisy, which is a real plus. Great table and booth set ups. Two tops are few so make sure to reserve early.
Bar - vibrant with a multitude of choices
Price - not an every day restaurant but you get what you pay for
Happy to have such a terrific restaurant just down the street in Sherman Oaks.
We all loved our food. Two of us got the corn soup that was on special. I got the Malaysian Scallops. Dee-licious! I don't remember what the fourth among us got, but she loved it, too. Two of us got the Wildwood cocktail. My friend got this before, and it's one of her favorite cocktails.
I'm sure I'll come again, and so will my friends.
Nice, relatively new, edition to Ventura Blvd. Very good food. Interesting combinations. Good service. We will come back.
Excellent food and service.
We had a delicious anniversary dinner. My husband had the special corn soup and I had the ahi crudo for appetizers- both very tasty and beautifully presented. We both had the bay scallops for our entree- very elegantly plated and excellent. We also loved the dessert we shared- shortbread covered with Snickers-like ingredients and a scoop of ice cream. The wine list by the glass was adequate.
The decor has carried over from SOCA (the previous tenant in that space) and it is comfortable, beautiful and elegant.
My only complaint is that we were seated at a table that had me facing the street and there was an awful glare coming from the sun (we had 6 pm reservations) that was reflected off of a street sign. Anybody would be wise to request not to be seated there until after sunset.
Everything about the restaurant contributes to the experience. Start with free and convenient parking. Walk in to a beautiful room. Be greeted by someone who obviously cares about the customer. The food and cocktails are amazing. I’ve been here a number of times and purposely tried different things. You don’t have to know what to order. Everything is delicious.
Very good new spot in Sherman Oaks. Second visit. Friendly service and attentive host!
Surprisingly good. Wouldn’t know it by the front. It’s not an inviting looking place. Inside it’s lovely. Service is outstanding. Limited menu. Drinks on the small side. Had the salmon and it was wonderful. Bread came out so hot it needed a moment to cool so I could cut the loaf! My husband had pork and was very pleased. I’d recommend trying early and miss the crowds on the weekend.
Will be going back.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted immediately and seated. Our waiter gave us some time to consider the menu before offering some guidance. My wheat allergy was acknowledged and I was steered toward options that would accommodate.
Our appetizers, the Roasted Beet Salad and the Spanish Octopus we're delicious! The beets were accompanied by arugala, candies walnuts and goat cheese, the perfect balance of sweet and crunchy walnuts, spicy arugala and creamy, salty goat cheese. The octopus was a total standout! The tender meat was paired with fingerling potatoes and a Chipotle drizzle. I could have eaten the dish myself, but shared with my husband.
Our entrees were also delicious. I ordered the scallops, three perfectly cooked scallops prepared with a masala sauce and chutney over cauliflower. Yum! My husband's Bronzino was equally tasty with charred tomatoes and zucchini.
The good food was complimented by attentive service and an incredible cocktail made with fresh, cold pressed juice, oustanding! I will certainly return!
Best new restaurant to hit Sherman Oaks. Everything about this place is sensational.
The food was superb..From the wine to dessert...the service was awesome and everyone was super friendly..I had the Branzino cooked perfectly with a slight taste of a smokey flavor..my husband had the filet mignon and also was delicious..highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely go back!!!
Outstanding new addition to Sherman Oaks dining options. Good variety menu items. Excellent quality food at reasonable to high prices. Standard service. Good drink options and cozy dining room.
I hate to write a wonderful review and encourage more people to visit Pearl District, because the next time I want a reservation it will be more difficult to score one! LOL Delightful dinner, delicious meal and great service!
My husband and I chose to go to Pearl District to celebrate our 28th anniversary, which I noted on the reservation; side note - we are a male couple. We really appreciated that the host and the server both acknowledged it and made us feel extremely welcome; the host even thanked us for choosing to celebrate it there. Kendell, our server, was very attentive and friendly. Our food arrived quickly and was fantastic. The restaurant was kind enough to comp our dessert since it was our anniversary. Overall, we were very pleased with our dining experience and are glad that we chose Pearl District at which to celebrate our anniversary.
Great food, friendly service, & reasonably priced!!
Absolutely one of the very best of Valley restaurants - atmosphere, food and attentiveness of the staff made for a wonderful evening. Food was superb!
Creative and delicious menu. Sophisticated and comfortable ambience. Will be back.
This was absolutely outstanding. The service was amazing, Ryan our server was fabulous. I told Ryan upon my first bite of the Branizo that I thought I had died and gone to Food Heaven!!! I'm already planning another celebration so we can go to Pearl District again.
I was quite surprised that at an 830 reservation on a Friday night it seemed more like senior hour then a hip new
restaurant. I was a little bummed about that but the food and service made up for the lacking vibe. Hopefully they’re able to market more to the “valley” crowd (30’s-40’s) because this restaurant has serious potential to make it!
Love this restaurant. Have already been twice and coming again at the end of April. Food is delish and awesome vibe and staff!
We were really looking forward to trying Pearl District but it ended up being a bit of a disappointment. The food was good...nothing great but not bad. The service was fair. I didn't get my wine until I reminded our waiter and he asked us if we were ready to order appetizers 10 minutes after we had ordered them. There was a similar issue with the table next to us. The main issue was that our table was right next to the kitchen door, which opens right on to the dining room. So, every time that door opened (maybe every 20 seconds), I looked into the very bright kitchen. It was completely distracting. It would be VERY easy to put up a half wall there to block it. There are several tables that have that issue.
Great food. Great service. Definitely going back
Everything we ordered was fantastic. The cocktails were especially delicious and they split up the salad and fish we ordered nicely.
Our own server , Matt, was so nice, but here's an example. We walked in with a 5:45 reservation, I tried for 5:15, but Open Table said it was full, then the hostess tried to put us outside on wicker chairs. I said no, I don't like outdoors in iffy temperatures, and wicker chairs hurt, so she said that the inside chairs were for "Reservations only" I said we HAD reservations. She said ok she'll give us a table, but we had to be out by 7. Then, the bread and butter didn't have a plate, and we had to use the salad plates, which they whipped away while we were still using them for the bread. Then after the salad was finished, we waited for 25 minutes for the main courses. Norm's scallops, were exactly, that, 3 scallops, no pasta, no rice, no vegetables. NOTHING! And, for that, $38.00,Now, although the food was really good, We were honoring their time, so we refused to order dessert which they were insulted we didn't order. As I said, the food was perfection, but the management was so arrogant, I will never go back.
There were 3 of us for dinner and we loved the place from the moment we walked in. The Shrimp appetizer was amazing ! I had the scallop entree which was so tasty and a bit spicy (which the server told me), since I love spicy food, it was perfect. My friends had the Branzino and Pork Chop which I tasted and were equally delicious. Service was wonderful, our waiter was so attentive and kind. The food and drinks were well-timed. We couldn't ask for a better experience in a new restaurant. Can't wait to go back!!
Food was perfectely prepared. Waitstaff attentive Overall, great experience
Beautiful restaurant. We were warmly greeted, our server Brittany was great. The food outstanding. We had short ribs on mashed potatoes, to die for, salt and pepper shrimp, duck liver pate, and gravlax on avocado toast and for desert apple pie and we substituted vanilla ice cream for the cappuccino. All outstanding. So happy to have a fantastic new restaurant in the valley.
My wife and I came here on two separate occasions. We had the same feeling both times. Pearl District is...fine. Nice ambiance, good service, not too loud. But the menu is all over the place, geographically. Are you Asian? Are you Italian? The food is fine but feels like it was conceived by a very talented amateur. No stand out. Nothing memorable. Dessert menu was a uninspired. Solid, but they need to try harder.
First visit and we can't wait for the 2nd... Everything we tried was great and the service was top tier.
Took about 40 minutes to get entrees after our apps but the gm comped our dessert so all good!
Food was delicious; service was impeccable and their wine list is the best I've seen. Scott, the manager is the perfect host. We are definitely going back and will be bringing friends.
