The restaurant is nice and clean and food is always good and with consistent quality. The only issue is unusual long wait between starter and main, no matter restayeant is busy or not! I optimisticly consider it as a sign of freshly prepared dish but I guess if waiters learn to have a higher sense of anticipation to guess when guests are going to fish their starter, the gap can be reduced. We are anyway regulars there.
Food used to be better
Food was on the salty side. Made to western taste instead of authentic Thai taste
I have been to Patara in Knightsbridge and Soho and absolutely loved it. However, this one was horrible. I went with my partner for Valentines. Firstly, the service was appalling. We waited for over 20 minutes just to get the drinks and kept being asked if we ordered by different waiters so many times, as if there’s no communication between them.
My main arrived 10 minutes after his, which was again unbelievable. I had the pineapple curry and it was delicious. He had the pad thai that was clearly off. We’ve both had pad thai in Patara before and this one tasted nothing like it. He returned the pad thai and received his duck very quickly after that, which was the only good thing about the service.
When we were done, nobody came to take the plates, so until we paid the empty plates were just there. Absolutely horrible.
Food was delicious, service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Good meal and service. But the beef needed reheating, and the ‘expresso’ tasted like a weak filter coffee and was also cold. Shame, as otherwise it was a good experience.
Great food! Pleasant service. The best restaurant in Hampstead, for sure.
Nice location and great food.
Our orders arrived late because of a big Deliveroo order! We did not receive an apology. Disappointing that take away orders were prioritised over diners in the actual restaurant!!
Yeah it was good, staff buckled under pressure but it was ok. Food was pretty standard across the board to be honest, it was fine.
Always good for lunch. Great set menu. Friendly service.
Food was beautiful. The mocktail passionata is now one of my favourite drinks.
Service was incredibly slow. Very long wait between starters and main course. Had to chase on a number of occasions and very difficult to get attention of waiting staff. It may be because of where we were sat in the space near the toilets. Had a similar experience when we last went a couple of years ago and were sat in the same space. While the food is reasonably good, based on the overall experience and cost, it is very expensive and doesnt represent good value for money. I very much doubt we will be returning a third time.
The staff was were amazing very attentive and professional. The restaurant is very quaint and romantic however the food was a little hit and miss for us and quite pricey.
A firm favourite of ours, have never had a bad meal there. Food consistently fresh and very tasty. Highly recommend
The food and service has been absolutely fantastic every time I’ve visited Patara. My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary meal so had let them know it was a special occasion when we booked. Upon arrival we received a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival which was a lovely surprise. We ordered the Banquet set menu and every one of the dishes was great - especially the sea bass. Will definitely return and would highly recommend!
Excellent cooking, good friendly service, room slightly cramped but that's Hampstead....
So amazing food and nice staff.
Good food in a local restaurant. Service attentive and food arrived promptly.
Affordable food, Great Interior, Delicious dishes. Will definitely return !
2nd visit to the restaurant and I was not at all disappointed. It is now my "go to" restaurant.
Wonderful service. Warm beautiful surroundings on a cold wet winter night. Delicious Pad Thai.
Dear Guest, thank you so much for your positive review. We'll be sure to let the Team in Hampstead know! Looking forward to see you again soon. Team Patara
Overpriced, small plates and average food. Slow service, we got our drinks after our starters, claiming busy but many free tables around. Best tasting part was the free chocolate with the bill.
Great Thai food. My favourite restaurant in Hampstead.
This was the third time I had been here, and unfortunately it was not a good overall experience. The food was good, but the service was pretty abysmal. We had to remind the waiters more than once about drink orders, I had to be asked twice what I ordered for my starter, then received the wrong main course. I would now not rush back as it is fairly expensive and I wouldn't see it being worth it.
Regular visitor to Patara . Excellent selection of different dishes. Can offer gluten free dishes as well.
Will return again
Food was incredible! And great service
Thank you for being thoughtful and gave mini celebration to my birthday!
Very disappointing. I've been going to Patara for many years and it's always been my favourite Thai in London. The experience on Saturday was very underwhelming with poor service (30 minutes and no offer of a drink) and underwhelming food. The extension to the Hampstead restaurant also feels like they have over extended without the team to manage a full restaurant. The excuse of "wait will be long because we are fully booked" doesn't cut it.
Food was still nice but did not feel that special like a higher-end Thai restaurant such as Patara should.
Really enjoyed the food service and atmosphere.I would definitely recommend it and would eat there again.
We always enjoy having dinner at Patara Hampstead High Street. However, it appears that the menu recently changed replacing scallops with prawns in Patara Platter. Please bring back scallops!
Consistently good Thai restaurant with a choice of good value set lunches or a la carte. Excellent service.
Food was absolutely delicious. Authentic Thai food with a modern twist. Thoroughly enjoyable. My only complaint would be a slight slowness in service. We waited half an hour tor our order to be taken, and then subsequently did not get our main course for nearly an hour and a half. Very friendly staff but a little disorganised. If that could be sorted out it will be an amazing all round restaurant to visit.
beautifully prepared authentic thai food- extensive and varied menu and good wine list. the black cod is sensational
We had a really lovely evening at Patara on Saturday - the food was different and just delicious and the service was very attentive. We would definitely go back !
The food is fantastic and the service is very friendly and efficient although drinks can sometimes take a long time.
Good Thai food in pleasant surroundings
Very good food, excellent service, guy on next table was VERY noisy but left before the end of our meal, pretty expensive, but would definitely go back !
