Passiontree Velvet Carindale
Lovely, helpful and friendly staff.
Beautifully presented and very tasty high tea.
Presented with pretty boxes to take away any leftovers.
The food was really nice and a good central spot. However I was expecting better service. Whilst the staff were nice - I didn’t feel they were attentive or make our experience feel special. We had to ask for drink order, water, glasses and plates. Could easily be improved
Had a great Teddy Bears picnic High Tea for my 7yo birthday. Staff looked after us and food was great. Table and presentation of the food was very pretty.
Menu price online was not reflecting the price in store (was $5 more per person). I had a booking for 10, 2 people pulled out on the day and I had to argue for 10 minutes about why it was unreasonable to charge me an extra 2 x $40 when:
1. That is not the cost price of the food
2. I was already spending $320
3. Half of the high tea was 2 variations of sandwich. This does not cost $80
I do not believe that 2 guests would result in an oversupply of good detrimental to the business
HIGH TEA FLOP - waited for over 35 minutes for service, then received teas, waited another 10-15 minutes then received our food. We had children with us so they became very restless. Have had High Tea at various venues and this was the worst I ever experienced. No hot savoury food and one scone each, then charged $39.95 per person. Was horrified especially when I spent over $239. High Tea should have been without fee or only been charged half. What a disappointment after reading all the reviews!
We thoroughly enjoyed our High Tea experience, the food was lovely, however, just a few suggestions having some wholemeal bread as well as the white bread. The little fruit tart was very dry. We did not finish the sweets & the lovely lady serving us was going to put our leftovers into a couple of boxes for us, however, when we got home the boxes were empty, a little disappointed, however, overall it was a lovely experience and would definitely do it again in the Carindale store.
We booked for 3 for high tea on a Saturday at midday. We were shown to a reserved table and given the drinks menu. Menu says bottomless tea included with high tea. It took 15 minutes for them to come back and take the tea order, then forever to make the tea. The food and the tea came out together and then we never saw the staff again after that. I wanted another pot of tea, but never got the opportunity to order it.
The food and the great service from staff
The duchess high tea was very nice but overpriced for how much was on the plates - we came for a special occasion so that was ok. (Maybe 50% more would have been better value.) The croque monsieur was yummy! Service was excellent.
Disappointed in the food, sandwiches were stale, service was very average. Was told conflicting information and ended up being charged when I told I wasn't going to be at the start. Coffee was good.
The staff were friendly and the high tea was pretty delicious and a treat for mother’s day.
Service was great and the food was delicious. We had the High Tea and it was great value for money. Overall, an excellent experience and would highly recommend it.
Food was lovely and fresh. Setting and atmosphere for high tea was lost - could have been easily created with clever use of furniture and/or plant screens at little cost. Staff not attentive enough.
We went for a high-tea baby shower and had a great time. The food was fantastic. There was a great range of teas to choose from.
The high tea food was very well presented and delicious. I liked the way the waitress explained what each of the items was. She was passionate about the food, she was friendly - just lovely really.
We were there for a teddy bears picnic high tea for my daughters birthday. While it was very cute and the girls had a lovely time I do have a suggestion. They all received different macaroons including green tea and passion fruit flavour. It would have been far more appropriate to give them all the same and chocolate or vanilla flavour. Green tea isn't exectly a child's choice of flavour. Also it would have been better to have plain ham or cheese sandwiches.
Food was nice but the service was a bit slow. Had finished our coffee before the high tea delicacies arrived.
My husband and I took a friend to high tea and we only have nice things to say about Passiontree Velvet. The food was lovely, the staff courteous and attentive. We will most certainly be going back again. Thanks everyone!
Booked a Duchess High Tea for 3 people. Staff were courteous and friendly. Clean and well presented but the shop's main sign was missing a "T".
Menu for macarons was old and we had to change our choice of flavours.
Tier 1 - sandwiches were wholmeal, a bit dry and quite ordinary.
Tier 2 - fruit scones were rock hard and more akin to biscotti. Flavour was nice, as was jam and cream.
Tier 3 - macarons were excellent. Blueberry cheesecake was the better of 2 cakes. Tartlet was nice.
The service was great. However the quality of the food was very poor. The cakes on top were stale and dry, inedible.
Wonderful place for special occasion
We had an enjoyable high tea experience.
Had a 1pm booking. Once seated they forgot to take our order. 20 min later I asked them to take my order Another 20 min later I asked how long it would be as we had been waiting 40min and had nothing. Nearly an hour wait for a cup of tea and some dry sandwich with cake tone placed on a plate. Never going back
The staff were great, very accomodating for a birthday high tea!
POOR SERVICE RUINED MOTHER'S DAY!
To book was a nightmare as it has to be through open table and you have to book 4 at a time. When you have a party of 14 - irritating!
One hour after arrival the food came out and we had all drunk our tea's and coffee's. Half the table received drinks in 15 minutes the rest were 'forgotten' and we had to remind them. People who arrived after us served their high tea first! Just ruined what should have been a lovely morning tea.
I almost went somewhere else. The website does not have a phone number. I went to the Westfield website to find it. It took well over a week for email replies. The food itself was fairly average. The coffee was pretty good. I have been here a couple of times before and I have to say I probably won't come again. last time each person got almost 2 whole sandwiches between the selection, this time not even half a sandwich pp. The staff also don't know anything about anything.
It be nice to know detailed menu of the High tea prior to booking. A friend could not eat some of the items due to pregnancy. So a few items went to waste. High teas are normally for bridals, baby showers, friends catch-up etc so most of these times there are pregnant ladies. Not everyone eats salmon as well.
High Tea was good, would of preferred a few more savoury options, the scones weren't nice and fresh or light and fluffy, so disappointed with them. The tea selection was good and the sweet treats and macarons were the highlight! Thought it was expansive for what we got, no real ambience to speak of so disappointed to find that it was out in the open atrium area would of been a much nicer experience if it had of been in a lovely decorated cafe than out in the open!
I had previously dinned here for high tea and champagne and the food was very fresh! and so cute! This time I took my little boy out on a date, the teddy bears picnic option for kids is just adoreable! Little finger sandwiches mini biscuit, Macaroon on the sweetest little mini high tea stand and a melochino... Beautiful way to make your little one feel special... Can't wait for my next visit with some girlfriends and our little dates just became a regular special thing my son and I do at PT V!
Staff were unaware of my booking, staff didn't apologise when they were made aware they hadn't supplied everything needed, there was no apology for not knowing about the booking, my friend and I - ladies in our 40s - were called "guys", nobody came by to top up our water, scones were served with no spoons for jam and cream. Overall, there was no finesse in the way staff interacted with us and the service was poor. I will be telling my friends to not go there.
Cafe was really nice, food was great, staff were very friendly and happy to assist.
We decided to do something special for our girls 15th birthday so we decided to do a Hugh Tea. Unfortunately the ladies where very busy there was about 20 kids at a 5th height tea and once they served us they where run of there feet so a nice experience was very noisy. it was a bit different experience as we imagined the shop to be in a shop instead of open just like a coffe shop
Very nice place - loved it!
Great food and terrific service
Great Service, had high expectations as claims to be best high tea in Brisbane. I found it to b nice but not the best I have had. Expected a lil more variety.
Fantastic and attentive staff 10/10
we had a kids party and high tea and staff was exceptional and attended to all of our needs!
I don't recommend this venue for a large booking. I had 16 children for the Teddy Bears High Tea. The food was fine but we waited for 40 mins for anything! Try keeping 16 6 year olds who were hungry and tired. I confirmed 3 times to confirm we had one gluten free but in the end had to run to Coles to buy the gluten free bread myself. I then took the drink orders myself.
