Parker Street Project
Had dinner twice at PSP this week. Delightful setting overlooking the mountains, enjoyed our drinks in front of the fire, then at table. Loved the napkins, crockery, volume was perfect, attentive but unobtrusive service from nice and knowledgeable young things. Food both nights was utterly delicious and we tried pretty much everything. Staff easily took on my request for 'scallops on the side' because I'm allergic. We also appreciated the carafe option and we explored a few more wines that way.
I ordered duck and lamb for main courses. However the duck was too salty
We chose the 'feed me' option for dinner and found the choices provided to us enticing and diverse.
Classed as 'bistro dining', this meal was above and beyond any other bistro experience I have had before.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable staff, unpretentious surroundings and reasonable prices. Good selection of wine.
The "feed me" option was a degustation meal and was nothing like the European versions we have enjoyed while travelling. Each serve was huge. Far too much food for the number of courses served.
Fantastic menu, amazing flavours and great value
We'll be back!
The food here is exceptional. Every mouthful was nothing short of perfect. And we were in the casual restaurant! The service was very good and the food, though not cheap, was worth every cent. This was very talented cooking with superb ingredients. A very memorable meal. I love the idea of the sharing platters, which were main sized meals divided into sections for easy sharing with someone else. The bar has been set high for every other restaurant in the future.
Very friendly helpful staff. Delicious food and plenty of choices. Attractive peaceful, private setting, good looking tableware. A sense of our visit being a special occasion for us
Fabulous flavoured packed yummy food. We had the feed me option. We enjoyed every dish with a great range of flavours. Knowledge friendly service who went the extra mile to make the evening a great experience.
Will be back for sure!
We had the feed me menu and were happy with the food provided - it was all delicious
A bit disappointed. Menu was good but for a simple lunch...restrictive & expensive. Also we felt the choices were difficult. To get a good balanced meal out of it (impossible for one person), we had to order a number of dishes. This made it an expensive lunch and even then we felt a bit let down (pork belly was not ideal) leaving a number of vegetable dishes as the main lunch. Not really what we expected. Overall, we can't say we would return to have this experience again unless the menu changed
The food was okay but have had much better and more for the price
We were really looking forward to lunch & we were not disappointed! After enjoying a morning hike on the Piccaninny Track, we were seated at the table in front of the fire, with a perfect view of Mt Sturgeon - clear skies, perfect view. What a setting! We were attentively looked after by our waiter, who soon delivered a wonderful selection of dishes for us to enjoy - lamb, pumpkin, brussel sprouts & chips. We took our time, savouring each mouthful, including the Shiraz. Memorable indeed! TY :)X
I took my partner for a lunch at Parker Street Project over the weekend. Because we dined on a Monday we were the last ones to dine at lunch time. The restaurant was quiet, we got seated next to the window with a view of the garden. We chose the feed me menu and received 7 dishes to share plus a dessert. The food was lovely and although some of the plates were small portions we were full by the end! Very happy with our dining experience.
Very enjoyable lunch great food great service highly recommend
The food was incredibly enjoyable and full of wonderful flavours. It was creative and simplistic all at once. The way good food should taste.
We chose seven main course dishes to share amongst five of us and they were all good.
We had a very good local Shiraz.
Unfortunately that is the end of the compliments. The service was very poor: long waits, wrong dishes brought to our table and a waiter who could not inform us about the menu.
The noise level was very high.
We absolutely loved our meal, everything was perfect.
Food was amazing and the service was top notch!
Delicious tasty food reasonably priced. Exquisite flavours and casual fine dining that made you want to lick the plate.
Some failed attempts to light the open-fire in the dining room created a very smokey environment which unfortunately lingered all evening.
Food quality was generally good - small portions though considering they are designed to be shared. Some main course sides came out with the starters which was not ideal - they were cold by the time the mains came. Some mains were cool when they arrived. Two deserts came out first and the ice cream had melted by the time the other two deserts arrived.
An excellent shared lunch, great food, with terrific balance of flavours. Service was great.
We were welcomed warmly last night and enjoyed a delicious meal. The service was excellent with plenty of advice from wait staff. It was a very pleasant evening.
Birthday occasion and Parker Project delivered with great food wine service.
Delicious food, well prepared, not too much, great service and wine.
We weren’t overly wowed! The service was very slow at times and the bisque was a little bit of a let down with the hard crunchy bits
We’ve eaten at this venue a few times over the years and despite it changing hands and/or focus it’s always been brilliant food. Was the perfect location for Mother’s Day lunch.
We enjoyed a really lovely meal! The vegetable dishes were a highlight. We opted for the feed me menu which was plentiful.
Nice, good quality food. We had a fun night. However, the service was poor and the portions of food were far too small for the price. We are not sure if we'll come back.
Kids meals were an absolute disappointment. Service was noticeably absent.
Our first visit. The food was the star here - beautifully presented and equally delicious. Seasoning and garnishes seemed perfectly matched without being pretentious. We’d definately come again - worth the hours travel from Halls Gap on a holiday weekend! Next visit is a stay at the hotel and a Wickens degustation!
Exceptional variety of meats complemented by seasonal vegetables, fruits and seasonings - matched by a exhaustive wine list.
Amazing flavors with each dish ordered...
Premium pub bistro that benefits from being associated with its famous restaurant sibling both in style and execution. Bonus is access to RMs amazing wine cellar.
Arguably Blake and team’s service is better and more predictable than Wicken’s because it is more casual / less structured but equally efficient.
Enormously lucky to be able to call it our local.
This was the second time we enjoyed the 'Feed Me' Menu. The food was good, although we would have liked a more substantial meat offering. I'm not sure the kitchen really thought about what to serve us as three of our 7 dishes were very tomoato based, tomato arancinis, tomato salad and then Hapuka in a warm tomato salad. I understand that the meals are based on seasonal produce, but there were other options that could have been produced that would have given more variety. Dessert was delicious.
A pleasant experience. Range of food good but somehow flavours not as vibrant as anticipated (except for the treacle pie dessert which was amazing). Maybe ask for a table by the windows to add to ambience; otherwise nothing special about the setting.
Best value $65 “feed me” lunch in Australia. Plenty of variety, fresh from the local garden, and interesting, complex dishes come together to create a fantastic experience. Will be back.
Was great not having to decide went with the “feed me” option
Service was slow, for example had to wait a long time for a menu. We did the feed me option. Thought communication by waiters of what the dish was was poor as they lack the knowledge. The lamb was amazing and so was desert. The starters where not great
We tried the ‘Feed Me’ option on the menu- the chef comes up with 6 courses for you to try. For $65 a head, we found this to be great value. The food and wine were fantastic and the service great too. Will definitely go again.
My wife and I dined at the Parker House Project last night. To sum it up, we were under-whelmed. They serve average food for above average prices. Our next meal was at Izzys café down the street. While his food isn't fancy, neither are his prices. Our "mains" we're chicken and pork belly. The pork belly was delicious but the chicken was bland. The vegetables accompanying them were over salted. A green salad was tasteless, wild crab appetizer was wow the crab appetizer was good good.
