Food always good a little challenging with the outdoor seating
This was my second time visiting Papardella with my best friend since their re-opening and it was just as fantastic as the first. We had a wonderful table that had more than enough space from others and a fantastic waiter that even brought out a bottle of wine so we could take a photo of the label! Overall it was a wonderful experience – we can’t wait to go back!
great food, great setting on the sidewalk and outstanding service by the very friendly staff
Our server Aline served us the (single) glass of wine despite being nicely reminded twice and well after our appetizer rolled in much later. Water glasses were left empty throughout the meal and pepper grinder left on a tiny table well into entrees despite several busboys passing. We decided on here just for the sautéed calamari (appetizer) and then the server strongly recommended the special tagliatelle with halibut. She kept pulling her mask down to speak. Calamari was surprisingly underwhelming (with two legs) in a lackluster broth, raisins, pine nuts and several tomatoes. We decided to say nothing in the wake of phase 4 to support the restaurant. Tagliatelle was a nice portion, but it was disappointingly again tasteless in red sauce. We politely informed our server, still leaving the appetizer out. She said nothing in response, offered no solution, left the table, and never informed the manager. My partner fed me his as she never returned. The saving grace was the delightful manager Chris whom we were able to inform. He ensured the rest of the meal went the way it should. Why the three stars? My partner’s Orecchiette Baresi with sausage and broccoli rabe pesto was suitable with marvelous flavor! FOH needs some more retraining.
Safe, outdoors, masks, excellent food & service
Birthday lunch for a friend.
This was a perfect choice for the 1st dinner experience post Covid. The restaurant is on the corner with plenty socially distanced outdoor seating with no neighboring restaurants that would result in overcrowding as I've witnessed everywhere in the neighborhood. The food and service was excellent and I thank you for providing such good service during these trying times!
Outdoor seating was quiet enough all things considered.
Enjoyed the melon cocktail.
Food selection was excellent and service was very attentive.
Great location and amble outdoor dining to comply with COVID requirements.
Would highly recommend for a nice dinner out.
They did a very nice job with the outdoor seating. Consistently good food.
My pizza was amazing! The tiger shrimp was a great touch!
Great service, from the moment I checked in with the hostess to the server. Polite, professional, friendly. Again, excellent service. The food, very tasty, great quality of their meats and the fresh watermelon mojito was outstanding. The asparagus with pesto and mozzarella was great, but finally the main entree. I ordered Australian lamb, and it was phenomenal. Highly recommend it
Despite covid-19 teh service, the food and the outdoors dining was great.
Thanks for your effort!
We dined outdoors, only noise from occasional motorcycles and trucks. Brunch menu, food was really good; overall, a lovely experience.
Always great food and service. We have been there numerous times and it continues to set high standards
consistently good whenever you come. one of the best Italian restaurants on the upper west side. always like the melanzane parmigiana and the cannolis. and a decent wine list by the glass and by the bottle although a bit pricey.
Food was delicious, great gluten free options, would definitely go back!
The service was very friendly and attentive and the food was authentic and tasted very good. We got the pappardelle pasta special for dessert we ordered the cheesecake and the apple tart. The apple tart was a lot for one person - I’d recommend sharing!
The food was excellent. The menu is very different with lots of options.
A wonderful place to have lunch on a Saturday at noon. We ordered cheese and meat plates to share, and paired it with glasses of Gavi — a really enjoyable lunch. Even better than the food was our server — she was terrific. We’ll be back.
Good service and food. We were visiting the NY Historical Society and lunched there .
Friendly, welcoming staff, reasonable prices, and great food.
Food is delicious, however they apparently frown upon walk ins, preferring folks have a reservation, even when there are clearly 7-8 empty tables
Have been here many. Normally 5 stars. This time Bronzino was just ok. Very wet
We're here a lot. Love the restaurant, the ambiance and the service. We order a lot of gluten free. Best GF pizza in Manhattan.
always a trusted decision to Italian food on the upper west side nyc
A great local spot for a good, no fuss meal and dining experience.
De bediening was aardig en er was veel gluten vrij eten te verkrijgen. Wat overigens helemaal niet moeilijk leek
Food was delicious! Service was nice and not rushed at all. Would definitely return. They also made a delicious white sangria.
Excellent food and service- have been here a few times and am always pleased!!
For all of you GF people, the GF menu is great for GF people like myself. Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Can't wait to go again.
Nightmare. We had a show at the Beacon. We arrived 2 hours in advance. Our entree came out an hour after we ordered. The shrimp was burned on top. Food was decent but not exceptional. We had to rush through dinner and did not have time for dessert. When we complained the owner took 10% off the food. Not exactly a grand gesture.
We ordered one wine that was in the menu and they gave us another, when we asked why they told us that one is the one they have for that price... obviously in the raitings it was a cheaper and worst wine
