Our goal is to bring the regional culinary traditions from Northern Italy to the Hudson Valley via locally sourced food and drink, whilst forging rewarding relationships with our guests and local purveyors and communities.
We serve authentic, Northern Italian cuisine in a classic, white table cloth setting and are an example of the revitalization of Uptown Kingston. We also accommodate Vegan diets. Our food is sourced directly from Italy and from the local farms, breweries and businesses of the Hudson Valley.
It’s our passion to bring the delicious food and culture of Italy to the Hudson Valley, and Uptown Kingston.
We have been many times and have enjoyed every meal.
We had a large group (8) and had our drink order taken almost immediately and were offered a delicious amuse bouche. We proceeded to order the burrata and white bean dip appetizers, which were delicious. Then we had to flag down the waitress to take our dinner order. Afterwards, we were not served our food until almost 1hr 40min after we were first sat. The waitress apologized that the food was taking a long time and said that she checked into the kitchen. Now, I understand that a majority of our group ordered the duck and that it takes a while to prepare, but no mention of that was made. The owner/manager just kept coming over and making jokes regarding to how long we were waiting. The duck was worth the wait, but the salmon and the tagliatelle were not.
Chicken with prosciutto
We tried Palizzata last Saturday just because it showed up on Open Table when we were going to make a reservation elsewhere in Kingston. We hope it does better than the other restaurants that have failed in this space. Food was excellent, as was the service, and we'll add Palizzata to our list of options when dining in Kingston.
This place has been open for a year but it was our first time there and it will not be the last. Pleasant room, nice people, and a very interesting menu. Fairly priced, nicely presented --and deliious.
I thought there was real value to what we were served in terms of portion size and quality overall. My wife's vegan lasagna was tasty but the tapenade was very salty. It took away from the meal. She happens to be very sensitive to over seasoning.
My entree was loaded with tender (braised) pieces of octopus with a portion that challenged me to finish. The sauce and smoked prosciutto added to the dish along with plenty of garlic. Though the garlic could have been much for some people, it was great for me.
We had a bottle of wine we shared with another couple and thought it was priced very reasonable for what it was (Valpolicello) that happened to be featured that evening.
I took my mother out to Palizzata for her birthday. First and foremost she LOVED IT. The wait staff was lovely and attentive, the food excellent. Mom had a fabulous Ribeye, and I, the Tagliatelle. We each look forward to our next visit.
The restaurant is beautiful. A Manhattan Cocktail was poor. It had been made by the waiter who clearly is not a bartender. The salads were excellent, however duck breast entrees were much too rare and a pasta with shrimp was sadly lacking in the quality and freshness of the shrimp. The pasta itself was excellent.

Thursday nite had been date night for us for almost FIFTY years. Married 46.
Probably the most creative Italian menu in the Hudson valley. Welcome addition to the Kingston stockade district
Really good food; inconsistent service. We arrived 9 minutes early for our 6:45, Sunday night dinner reservation. Even though 75% of the tables were empty, we were asked to wait at the bar. We were given drinks menus, but no one came to take our order. Eventually, we were led to a small, cramped, poorly lit table for 2, even though there were 8 completely empty, well-lit, roomy 4-tops, 6 of which remained empty the entire 1time. We sat for 10 minutes before a server came by, not to take our order, but to tell us she'd be back soon for our order. (So far, we haven't been offered anything but water)
I notice at this point that she and the Hostess are the only floor staff, and there are 8 tables of diners. 2 tables sat uncleared of food and plates for most of the time we were there.
The server comes back, tells us the specials (without prices), and takes our order. Eventually, they bring us a little bread and oil, and, a good while later, our appetizers. I then notice that several, but not all, of the tables are being given complimentary amuses-bouches. (This is the sort of thing a restaurant should either give to every table, or presented discreetly if it's not going to every table.)
Our meals come out, delivered by the Hostess, who asks if I want parmesan, and then I wait 5 minutes before she returns with it.
The shame is, the food here is really good. I've eaten here 3 or 4 times in the past year, and I always like what I order. But the service is inconsistent. And, on a Sunday night in the summer, a server and a hostess is not enough staff.
There were seven of us and we all had fabulous dishes! The portions are sizable, but the food is fresh, the flavors really come out. Highly recommend Palizzata and will definitely be going back!

You wouldn’t think this would be a high quality restaurant just by looking at the outside. However, the quality and service of this restaurant makes it worthy of a high rating. Below are my three big takeaways from Palizzata.

The exterior doesn’t reflect the interior- it is lovely inside. Staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Food was excellent. Two of us chose from the “Date Night” menu. Everyone cleaned their plates!
