I was so disappointed in my experience at Pacifico. I had dined here about a month ago and was so excited to get back but this time was horrible. The drinks were not good. They had an entirely different menu to supplement for restaurant week. As someone with allergies, they were not accommodating. The only thing on the new menu I could eat was guac with vegetables and they charged an extra $4 for the smallest serving of carrots and celery. The rest of the food that my party got was just ok. I will not be returning.
Took 25 minutes to get us waters, drinks took forever, waitress was clearly overwhelmed as was the kitchen...everyone around us was complaining about food taking forever and when it did finally show up for our table, dishes were cold and mild flavored (vs. the spicy we requested) so not a great night. While it was good food, the experience was off putting and we'll not be coming back.
Ample outdoor seating but overwhelmed waitstaff disappear. Kitchen overwhelmed and dinner took over an hour to arrive. Heating units only in the front so don't get seated under the tent if you can help it. Food is amazing but the long wait and lack of warmth ruined the experience.
Amazing experience every time ! Always leave planning the next visit.
Outdoor seating and social distancing was great during this pandemic. Food was superb and presentation was excellent too.
Loved the food and the outside ambience. I’d I had one critic, it would be that we would expect to listen to some Latin music while eating. Not too current American pop music. It didn’t match the menu or the restaurant vibe.
But overall great.
Rafat's service was impeccable. Most of the dishes were outstanding. We loved grilled octopus and grilled squid and we are definitely be coming back for the whole grilled branzino bass. Small but focused and interesting wine list. A great find for us.
Food was delicious and our service was great. I had the salmon for dinner and it was delicious!
Excellent meal with pleasant servers and staff. We will be back
It seems like due to COVID they acquired much more seating than they normally have, because with a packed house they seemed to be extremely behind. Took us 2 hours for them to tell us that they just started cooking our entree. So we paid for our drinks and app and left. Waiter was nice, but clearly favored the larger tables instead of our two-top. Really wish I could have ate my food because I bet it would have been good but the wait was too long.
Terrific dinner. Highly recommend.
Pacifico is a very busy restaurant that is in the heart of Downtown New Haven. Parking is available in a garage across the street as it will be very difficult to find parking on the street. The food is decent and sort of a fusion Latin cuisine. I say that because I attempted to order sweet plantains and the response was, "We don't have that on the menu." A bit out of the normal but okay. The food was decent and moderately priced and the service was friendly and timely. I would probably try another restaurant in town on my next trip to the area.
The service was terrible. Drink was spilled on my friend, food took over an hour to arrive. We had at least 45 minutes in between each drink because the waitress never came around. We were there from 6:45pm and didn't leave until 9:30pm and each only had two drinks; not because we didnt want any but because we were never asked. The check was $375.00 and we all left hungry. Food portions were all over the place, for the price the portion of the Ceviche, Shrimp/Scallop ravioli, Calamari and fried oysters was pushing the limits of "high price for good food" -- not great food.
Our experience were amazing. The staff and food was top notch, and we will be back very soon.
Said their kitchen was closed even though they took the reservation
Very hard time trying to order with wait staff and was given attitude by staff and manager trying to order drinks
We went on a Friday night and it was definitely busy and loud! They have tons of outdoor seating that is evenly spaced out but you are on the streets of New Haven so it did get really loud.
Service was slow and unorganized but you could tell that the servers were doing their best given there are so many tables.
The food and drinks were great but the portions are small. The Paloma came in a small skinny glass. The yuca fries and guac were awesome but again small portions. I got the glazed salmon and it was phenomenal.
The menu used to be a Spanish approach to seafood and was amazing. Now it’s more Mexican ... but not. Food was horrible, sent back 2 untouched mains! Went home without eating. Also, there were bugs EVERYWHERE and the staff told us it was due to the dumpster.
Drinks tasted a bit bland but food was very good
Took my parents here to try their outdoor dining. For apps, we all enjoyed the ceviche de camaron, yuca frita, and pork belly. We could have done with more than 4 shrimp in the ceviche though. For mains, I liked the quesadilla de pato while they were fans of the churrasco. And for drinks, we were pretty satisfied with the passionfruit & coconut caipirinha and the frozen strawberry daiquiri. Service was quick and friendly.
Felt like we were rushed while no one else was. We went there for drinks and appetizers but I waiters dry responses seemed like he wanted us to order more food. Why would I eat a dinner at 10pm. I think you need a tad bit more customer service. Drinks were decent, food portion was tiny but was food.
We had a table of 6 people to celebrate my mom and cousin’s birthday. I’m always a bit scared to put because of the pandemic, but the tables were pretty spread out. The food was delicious, the waitress and wait staff were extremely nice. The food was great and portions were just large enough. Definitely recommend it and I will be returning!
Love this place . Everytime I go everything is 5 stars .
This is our favorite restaurant downtown and it is almost always an amazing experience. Out of their control, it was quite warm outside and the traffic can be loud (mostly motorcycles revving at the traffic light), but overall, outdoor dining with Pacifico is a very pleasant experience. We have become familiar with one of the managers/servers, Rafat, who always goes out of his way to make us feel welcome as we are loyal, repeat patrons. Thank you for continuing to offer amazing food and a welcoming atmosphere, even during the extra challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic.
Excelente atención y la comida deliciosa!
Had a great time... Food was delicious...!
Dinner with friends!
Everything was amazing.
Hostess wasn't dressed professionally.
Very nice environment they play very good music the service was very good an employee by the name O'Dell made it worth going there he wasn't even my waiter however he helped out and made sure everything was running smoothly thumbs up to O'Dell a few more employees like him the place would be an automatic 5
Had the grilled octopus and it was great. Went with the table side guac and went with the option to spice it up but was pretty bland. Everything else was very good especially the classic Mojito.
We loved the bowls we had at Pacifico. The waiter and maitre d were very accommodating and helpful. We will be back to try the empanadas which looked
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food
Food was spectacular and menu was diverse & extensive.
Wonderful and huge selection of top shelf spirits, including Mescal & Tequila, which I and my friend drank as an after lunch cocktail.
Our server gave us all the attention and food & beverage advice in the world.
We were the only indoor party at 12:30 on a hot Sunday in July, and he had the time to devote to us, I guess.
Will be returning many times and most often.
Fun time, open space, great food.
I am a chef in a certified sommelier /very picky ! and I eat everything! Needless to say I wasn’t expecting much , but the crispy Seabass was amazing!
We made reservations for brunch on Sunday, when we arrived we were told that because of the virus they were only serving brunch on Saturday. They were serving from their main dinner menu and a very small lunch menu. We ordered from the dinner menu and the food was quite good, however, we really wanted brunch and were disappointed.
Would definitely go back if in the area.
The service was excellent! The food was amazing. I highly recommend the churrasco. It was incredibly good. I can’t wait to go back.
We chose to sit inside and we had a great view right by the window! The drinks were beautifully and delicious. The Calamari was some of the best I've ever had! The service was attentive and knowledgeable. It was a great experience .
The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were all polite, and the waiter was attentive. There was a choice of indoor and outdoor seating as well. I got the churraso a la parilla which I would greatly recommend :)
