Great ambience and service, with fabulous drink menu. I was somewhat let down by the food options. There are only small dishes for sharing (limited offerings), I wish there are more dinner options. Other than that, it’s a lovely place to catch up with friends, you can have a good convo as it’s not too noisy.

Oydis is a savvy addition to Ashburton night life. The food however is not really to my taste or my friends. Simple dishes and regular bowls of fries, chicken strips and snacks would be appreciated especially for trivia nights.A good roast or pasta would be preferred.

Hi Mary, Thanks for popping into our Trivia night and your feedback. Unfortunately, we are running with a temporary kitchen until we build our new kitchen facilities. Given the limited space and capability, we aren't able to expand the current offering. Once completed, you will be able to indulge in Modern Australian pub fare with a twist on flavour from countries of the old British Empire. Hope to see you soon! Darsh

Great place with lovely ambience. Service was friendly. Food choice not wide but nice. Calamari was tasteless … shame we had to pay for it even though we sent it back. Overall enjoyed it, and would go back

Not very busy, so there is not much atmosphere. I assume because it was a Thursday and school holidays. The staff were nice, but the service needs improvement. They stood around a lot, talking to one another. They have bar service, which is fine, but picking up used plates off the table would be fairly basic. Food choices were very limited, and some of the food came out cold. They really need more food choices - we pretty much ordered everything off the menu and got a bottle of wine - total spend was like $120 for 2 people. Wine choices are limited as well but they have a reasonable selection. I will give it one more try as it is local, and we like supporting local businesses, but the first experience was a little disappointing.
