We drove 1 1/2 hours to get to this restaurant. The food was OK not worth driving an hour and a half to get. The temperature of the food was lukewarm the portions were very small for the amount that you’re charge. Up charge for salads and would have been nice to have hush puppies come as an appetizer while you wait for your food.

The crabs was not fresh…… they were previously cooked and reheated. Making the meat mushy . Very disappointed, i drove 2 hour for some bad crabs. Not to mention the waitress attitude sucked.

gotten blue crabs for carryout from here once of twice and they have always been good. This was our first time sitting down to eat. There were so many options on the menu. My wife was so excited to try everything. We all shared 4 meals and a some appetizers. The rock fish, fried oysters and steamed clams were our favorite. I'll be bringing my whole family back.

Did a team dinner here last night and it went so well! We came from Reston just to try something new and I'm glad we did. The food was incredible the service was great. We all enjoyed some appetizers, steamed shrimp and blue crabs. The shrimp was probably the best I've had. The blue crabs were large and meaty and so worth it! They have the coolest little butter warmers for each person so that was a huge hit for the group

THREE TIMES I HAVE MADE RESERVATIONS! Three times I NEVER made it to a table. The 1st time the doors where locked, the 2nd time there was no one at the podium and I waited 10 minutes before leaving, and the third even though I showed them the confirmation on my phone, they where not ready and tried to seat me at the bar. Your hours on the website do not match the actual hours, and you obviously DO NOT LIKE single diners. Last Saturday I tried to call, and complain but the person kept making excuses and hung up on me. Now why would I recommend Out of the Blue? How was the food? I honestly don't know... A year ago it was pretty good, But now?

This is the second time I have made reservations only to be ignored in the doorway and on a previous visit I arrived to find the door locked. I have dined there on several occasions in the past but not recently.

Brought 2 of my clients here for dinner the other night. Our service was excellent. Our waitress could tell it was a business meeting so she was just attentive enough without interrupting while we were going over our documents. The food was good as always and my clients really enjoyed the dirty martini that was on the menu because it came with crab stuffed olives.

Saw the drink of the week on facebook so I came in with some friends. I love to try anything thats spooky season themed. The drink was good, pretty sweet, which my friend loved. The food was even better though! I got the rockfish special and the garlic butter on it was delicious and the side choices are packed into those bowls so it was more than enough food for me. We all tried a bite of each others food and everything was great!

Don't walk, run to out of the blue haha. Went the other night with a couple buddies and these crabs are by far the best I've seen in years. We got the colossal crabs and they were huge! so full and meaty that we had to take some home and its usually pretty hard for me to fill up on crabs like that. Can't wait to go back with my wife and kids

Crabs were good, but my hubby and I thought food was greasy and there was too much breading on seafood. Hush puppies were very good. We've had better prepared seafood elsewhere.

I came from Culpepper with my coworkers to celebrate a long week, well done. A couple of them are from Maryland and grew up eating blue crabs and i told them about the colossal crabs and decided we had to come. Wow they were incredible! We got some shrimp and calamari to go with the crabs but the crabs were even more filling than I imagined. My coworkers said they cant wait to bring their families here.

Came for my anniversary with my wife. My wife and I wanted quality seafood and I knew this is where we needed to go. She got the Rockfish special and she said it was excellent. I had the land and sea which was a filet with shrimp and scallops. At first I was a little disappointed that there was only 2 shrimp and 2 scallops but they were very large shrimp and large scallops and I was exceptionally full after my meal. We enjoyed a bottle of Faust which to our surprise was 20% so that was nice. We had a wonderful evening out without the kids which is hard to come by these days.

Came for dinner with a couple of my girlfriends. They weren't too crowded so the host let us pick where we wanted to sit and we just decided to sit at the bar cause one of our favorite bartenders was working. Go see Lindsay! She's the best! We ordered a bunch of appetizers to split and then after we ordered some oysters and shrimp. The food was awesome and the drinks were superb!

Great seafood restaurant in Gainsville. We went for lunch and wasn't crowded. Food was served hot and tasty. We got a varsity of appetizers and entrees. Will be a fine competitor to other seafood restaurants.

We had not tried the restaurant yet, so decided it was time. We enjoyed the meal, found the food to be tasty, the staff was very pleasant. It was just as places were opening back up after COVID lockdowns so not many customers. We gave the ratings 4 stars to leave a little room to reach 5 once we go back and see how everything runs with a full house.

4 of us. One had a surf and turf dinner that was so pitiful. If you can’t do a small steak 2 shrimp and 2 scallops and make it look like $30 then don’t serve it! Understand food is expensive but that was a total rip off.

Went to celebrate my father’s birthday. Ordered snow crabs and dozen large steamed crabs. Food was great. Parents thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Bartender was serving us since we asked to be at a table in an open area.

Definitely our go to foe crabs compared to other crab locations in the area. Love getting their all you can eat crabs, but got the dozen since I went with my elderly parents who don’t eat much.

Recommend this place for happy hour too.

$25 for a “lobster and shrimp roll” was too much for what was received. It was more shrimp roll. The hush puppies and mushrooms were tasty.

This place is my go to place when I'm in town for business. I like to come by myself and just enjoy a couple drinks and some great food. I requested a specific table in the bar area because its in this private little cove with a cute crab sign above it. They were very nice about my request and were able to seat me there right away. I enjoyed one of their drink of the week and then by the bartenders recommendation I tired a margarita with St. Germaine liquor in it. it was fantastic! I ordered 2 xl blue crabs and a pound of peel and eat shrimp. The quality of the seafood here is amazing. Can't wait to be back in the area.

Came here with my husband for our anniversary. This is one of our favorite restaurants to go to together. We both always have a great time. We order a bottle of our favorite wine, which happened to be 20% off which was great. We also love their raw oysters. If you like bigger oysters you have to try these! For dinner my husband got the land and sea, filet with shrimp and scallops, incredible as always. I got the shrimp and lobster roll which was a new pick for me and it was delicious, really creamy sauce and the shrimp was huge! We requested Lindsay as our server because we always love when she takes care of us. It was a wonderful experience.

Came with the whole family! They were very accommodating for 8 people. We asked for a specific area because we have been here before and really enjoyed the bar area seating. They were super nice about us wanted to move to that section. The service was amazing! The food was even better! We had blue crabs and snow crabs. We also loved the steamed shrimp. Overall a great night out!

Came with some co workers because we saw the deal going on for the 20% off wine bottles and we knew we needed that after a very long day! We got 3 bottles for the table and just had a good time. Really love the Jam Cellars Butter chardonnay! Our server was so fun and sweet, it made our time there even better than we expected. The food was excellent! The colossal fried shrimp was my favorite. I ended up ordering some to go so my roommate could try it.

I saw the happy hour specials posted on the out of the blue facebook page so my boyfriend and I decided to go grab some drinks. We had a couple of their spicy $6 bloody mary's and they were amazing! Then we had the drink of the week which was a dark and stormy. We also enjoyed some fried calamari and clam strips.
