‘Oggi’ is ‘today’ in Italian – this sums up what we offer – sophisticated Italian food, inspired by tradition but in keeping with today’s tastes and best available produce.
We have created an Italian piazza setting in the heart of CBD Adelaide, complete with a cobblestoned floor, arches, arbour, meat room, private cellar, intimate booth seating, and a mezzanine-level kitchen.
Our 20-metre formed concrete bar is the ideal place to sit and graze on some small dishes (we’re not just about pasta) or just swing by for a drink.
- Surfaces sanitised between seatings
- Common areas deep cleaned daily
- Sanitiser or wipes provided for customers
- Contactless payment available
- Limited number of seated diners
- Distancing maintained in common areas
- Extra space between tables
- Sick staff prohibited in the workplace
I absolutely adore this place. I've been away from Adelaide for nearly three years and was delighted to find it's just as amazing as I had remembered.
The food was delicious and I have trouble choosing a favourite dish.
Thank you the service was outstanding I enjoyed the kingfish but I was quite disappointed with the two pasta dishes
Food was exceptional. Service was excellent. Unfortunately we
had 2 people next to us on a long table who talked at high volume incessantly the whole time we were there. Not the restaurants fault!
Food is fresh, well presented and good quality. Servings adequate but not generous. The person serving us was outstanding, helpful, friendly and attentive. This made it a significantly better experience than it might otherwise have been.
The venue is very noisy but the atmosphere is positive and happy.
I never leave negative reviews but I couldn't get passed this experience.
Entree was nice , perfectly seasoned king fish crudo
But then I ordered three pastas and they were all undercooked ( I could push the noodles back together into a dough) and not seasoned correctly. The two seafood ones had almost no flavor and the carbonara was so salty I even sent it back, the waiter also had a taste and agreed with us. he took that off our bill which was nice and gave us a round of drinks but we still left dissatisfied.
It was our wedding anniversary and we loved the food and experience, staff were great.
We had a great lunch in a booth and the food and service were excellent as they always are.
Very busy atmosphere. Been many many times. Unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked and the other pasta did not have any flavour. Will still go back.
The atmosphere inside is warm and friendly. The service was excellent. We had the Casa for 2 and found all plates served to be excellent and the value (at just $74 pp) outstanding!
The restaurant is such a beautiful setting, the booth was lovely and cosy. Most of all the service was impeccable, thank you for a great meal!
Service was amazing, we were served by Henry and he was incredibly informative, friendly, and made perfect recommendations!
Food was delicious, I have been here a few times and cannot rate the food highly enough. Thank you.
The only detractor for our evening was the incredibly loud woman sitting near by, Osteria Oggia gets a 10/10, she gets a 0/10.
My pasta was very soggy and over cooked and overly sweet. My husband tried it for a second opinion and agrees it was very over cooked and sickening sweet. However entree was amazing. Thank you
Osteria Oggi is one of our top favourites in Adelaide. One of its best features is the attentive and friendly staff and you always feel welcome through those doors. Drinks menu excellent, ambience always spot on. The only blemish in this visit was one of the specials was just not up to the usual supreme high Oggi standards. But otherwise the other special (tuna) was sublime and overall a lovely evening. Plus always good to try new things! Highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t visited either locals or visitors. We will visit again.
The food is outstanding, of that there is no question.
The service, however, is not good. After 3 visits, here are my common experiences:
- After being seated, you get ignored for ages (15-20 minutes without being able to order drinks/nibbles). You don't even get a menu!
- Drinks orders take an idiotic amount of time to arrive - how long does it take to pour a glass of wine or a beer?
- The waiting staff don't look around while they're moving across the floor, so you can't get their attention without hollering across the restaurant.
- The waiting staff almost come across as too cool to even acknowledge your presence.
Given the quality of the food, which is really amazing, I expect better service to accompany it. Each time I've been, the staff have been very young, and maybe lack experience, but the restaurateur should be recruiting and/or training to manage this. It's a shame, because in spite of having had a delicious meal there 3 times now, I'm just frustrated by the place and I'm not sure I want to go back and experience that.
Fix the service, and this place is would be amazing.
Food was good but staff were terribly rude. Wouldn't recommend at all!
Disappointing, overrated. Garlic overwhelmed the crab pasta, pasta itself was tough as were prawns in squid ink pasta. Not nice meals at all. Desert pie was delicious but a very ordinary tiramisu. Seriously overpriced for the quality of the food and the wine prices were very high, too. Service good if rushed due to 2hr limit. Impossibly noisy. Won't return.
Wonderful meal, excellent service, great gluten free options. Easily our best meal in Adelaide during a recent trip.
really great experience, helpful and friendly staff.
Only less than positive, we asked for sparkling but received still water.
Everything is delicious. The squid ink pasta with prawns and vongole was terrific and the special chocolate tart to die for!
Convenient for a quick lunch in the city on a last minute booking mid-week, good food, fast service on the daily special and attentive servers.
The serve size of the special was very small though for a main course. I would also suggest some sound absorbers for the noise control in the back area as it was very loud.
It was our first time dining here and we absolutely loved the feel of the place! Food was amazing and service was just as great! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys great pasta! Will definitely come back.
Serving sizes were quite small for the price. Especially the croquettes.
Amazing food, great service.
We asked our wait staff member to suggest accompanying wines; her knowledge and selections were excellent.
Simply the best Italian in Adelaide, enthusiastic, knowledgeable professional staff who love what they do, serve amazing food and wine in a brilliant surrounding
Amazing service and food was divine. Lovely atmosphere, will definitely come back.
Lovely interior design and amazing pasta! Definitely come back
The food, as always, was great overall however my dish was a bit on the bland side - linguine with samphire and artichoke. Others at my table absolutely loved their meals though - they raved about the rabbit pasta and the chicken liver pasta. The bread and oil is so good, as are their starters. Think I just ordered the wrong thing. What was disappointing was the service which was really quite poor. We had a late lunch and most of the staff had clocked off so I think they just forgot about us. I've had other really good experiences there, this one was just a bit off unfortunately.
We had an excellent night with friends, the food was amazing and service was fantastic. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to return
Food was average. Lovely setting, really friendly staff. Overall 3/5 stars.
Door greeter had an attitude which made our group not feel welcomed. Some servers were friendly. Food was served Very quick and was ok- a couple of our pasta dishes were bland and not cooked too well. A beautiful place but did not hit our expectations. Will not be returning anytime soon.
My third visit and OO retains its high standrds from staff to food. The wine list is very good but the margins a little high. I have some of the wines in my cellar and know the wholesale price plus GST of course. However, I can't enjoy food like OO at home!!
Finally, the atmosphere is wonderful with many younger people (of which I am not) adding a real vibrancy to the experience. Highly recommended.
The food was amazing and the wait staff were polite helpful and knowledgeable. we had the 5 course tasting menu. So much food. Even for my teenage son. We asked for recommendations for wine to accompany the upcoming courses and were happy with the choices. We will be back but probably for the 4 course menu. They also happily and wonderfully coped with all our food requirements. The vegans did not miss out
Amazing dinning experience with great service
Great choices of pasta. Very friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended.
Delicious food great service. A bit pricey but happy to pay for quality
Truly italian place. Atmosphere, service, food and the feeling.
Overall, a great experience. The Carbonara and Pana Cotta were stand-out dishes. Appreciated the personal service as we mentioned one of us was celebrating a birthday!
The Maccheroni Boar tasted so good, I also enjoyed very friendly service in a great atmosphere, and good value for the meal...
Unbelievably yummy food. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere.
