CNN named Osteria Oggi as one of the 10 top new restaurants in the world in 2016. In March 2017, World Interiors News awarded Osteria Oggi the best restaurant interior in the world.
Osteria Oggi was fantastic as always. The staff, service and food all impeccable.
We dined last Friday night. The food is wonderful with lots of twists on some classic dishes. The service was missing a beat. Perhaps there were down a staff person.
Excellent fresh food, service and ambience. I really appreciated the assistance with the menu and wines
Excellent food, attentive staff with good food and wine knowledge! Easy to book a table online.
I had the Polenta with Sausage Ragu which I would definitely order again. Very flavoursome.
You might want to try and leave room in your stomach for dessert - for example, there was an Affagato Tiramisu which was amazing (I could of gone there just for that!)
Excellent wine selection.
Second visit and not the last :)
Food was fresh and well executed. Wine was well matched and staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. Best Italian we have had in Adelaide!
Loved it! Food, ambience and service were outstanding. And great gluten free options for entrée, mains and dessert.
Delicious and amazing service
It is my favourite place in Adelaide - I recommend it to everyone I know!
Great food, service, atmosphere. Local seafood is a must try. Will be back soon
Always loved lunch here, but our first dinner experience was disappointing. Food was bland and despite seeing salt and pepper at other tables we didn't have any to help us out. Service was excellent, as usual though.
Rude Maitre De. It felt as if I wasn't good enough for their restaurant and that my booking wasn't serious. Wont go back.
Amazing experience. Great staff who were very aware and into what we wanted. Awesome food. Delicious booze. Outstanding. XY
Best Italian in Adelaide... fantastic vibe, great wine and the food well that’s just sublime
The food was good. But at the beginning of the night we mentioned we had good food vouchers, the waitress said that is fine, then when we went to pay she came back and said that they don’t accept them. I understand that you weren’t apart of it, but you shouldn’t have said that it was okay at the beginning of the night. Very poor communication. The bill was large too so very disappointing and ruined the night so won’t be going back again or recommending it to anyone.
We were tucked away in a cosy booth and so could converse comfortably while also enjoying the wider ambiance of the restaurant. We had an absolutely delicious meal - pasta, cured meats, polenta and lamb shoulder. The wait staff were helpful and attentive and overall it was a fabulous experience that we would rush back to enjoy again!
Delicious food and amazing service. Love the interior too! A lovely night out!
The Ragu is amazing, nice selection of wines and brilliant service 👌🏼
Great food, service and location. Very much looking forward to my next visit. 🙂
The service and food were exceptional. We came with a child and with no kids menu they looked after him as well as I have seen.
A must visit for foodies visiting Adelaide!
Fabulous Italuan food coupled with great service,I bookedvthis in the uk for my sisters Birthday and they were do impressed we went again when I came over latercin the year
We have been to Osteria Oggi twice before and really enjoyed it- especially the food, but this time were quite disappointed. The food we ordered was not as described on the menu or by the waiting staff which was very disappointing and subsequently over priced because of the absence of other ingredients.
The design and space is very stylish, but unfortunately if the food is disappointing and over priced it becomes a less pleasant night out.
Modern Italian setup in Adelaide is hard to come by.
We had the Tasting banquet on a Saturday night, food was average for the price tag.
The pastas were too salty. It appears the chef customize the banquet differently based on their own choice. We noticed other tables had different dishes and was disappointed with the dishes chosen for us.
We were still full at the end of the night but could be due to the long 2.5 hours of dining.
It would be a nice place for a drink but food was average to me.
We booked Osteria Oggi as a family lunch out with our 1 year old toddler and the grandparents. We requested at the time of booking a high chair but when we arrived to the restaurant they advised, with some attitude, that they don't have high chairs, and because it was the week before Christmas they were only doing a tasting menu. We were never informed of any of these prior to our arrival to the restaurant, and when asking the waiter what would be on the tasting menu, he replied again with attitude, 'whatever the chefs choose to prepare'. It was a shame because it is a nicely decorated restaurant with good food but tainted by poor service.
Fabulous lunch, incredible ingredients, quality service - I'll be back.
I took a close friend to this restaurant because of its great reviews and it was his 87th birthday. As he is Italian, that is his favourite food. Had I realised that we would be seated on high bar stools or on stools side by side with no back to eat, I would not have booked this restaurant. I was aware it was pricey, and was okay with that, expecting something exceptional. However, for the price, my expectations were higher than what transpired. It was very noisy, and was really a younger scene eatery.
Having said that, we had no complaints with the service. The flavours of the sauces were excellent. However, I ordered the squid ink pasta and I thought for the 6 pippis and 6 1cm long pieces of prawn meat which comprised my meal, that the price was excessive.
Food was great. But it took very long in between courses. Despite it being only a tasting menu, it was very slow service.
Great food and all left extremely full, however very noisy so hard to hear each others conversations.
Honestly, this second time I've been here as I was not really impressed this first time but I thought I'd give it another shot as I've heard good reports. The pasta was undercooked. I know what al dente pasta should be like and this was still hard. To top it all off, I unfortunately had a case of indigestion for the rest of the afternoon. Maybe it was the dish (pasta with ragu sauce) that does not agree with me re the indigestion. I then remembered why I didn't like it the first time - undercooked pasta. That's my story.
It is the second time we were there.
First time was great that why we came again.
This time it was just bad.
Food was served cold. Food was too salty.
And the worse part rhe team didnt care.
They took full plates back to the kitchen without asking what went wrong.
Bad bad expirence.
We will never come back.
Hope that next time the stuff will try and ask a customer why didnt they eat.
Lovely food great service it is a very popular restaurant so it is always really busy... probably not for an intimate dinner
Great Food, service and wine. Well worth the visit.
Everything about this place is brilliant. The ambience of the Restaurant, the service, staff, food and the wine, is second to none. Fabulous evening out! We will be back
The food we had was beautiful! Cooked to perfection ... waiter was extremely helpful, pleasant and friendly. Food and wine is on the pricey side so choose carefully! But sparkling water was free and plentiful which is always a plus 😊
Very fresh market cuisine with wonderful salad. Pasta sauces are simply delicious. Fine wine list. We had a great time.
Always good. Too much amazing wine.
One of my favorite places in cbd
Delicious and great service! Loved every part of the experience! We’ll be back
It was our wedding anniversary and so chose this restaurant due to its awards. Didn't start well with no real formal area to be met - where do we go? Waiters (very friendly) rushing past us in what felt like a hallway?? Finally a fellow sees us and asks where we would like to sit - at the end of a communal table or at the bar - not really wanting one of those options didn't work as that was all there was. We gave up and sat at the bar - right in front of the fridges and where they kept all of the menus - careful not to knock our glass over the edge. The menu was superb, surprisingly no light beer (I was trying to be good) and wine list was a little highly priced I thought but by the glass options were good - again a little pricey but not silly.
We ordered some olives as we had already had a nibble elsewhere - superb and great with the wine.
The main course, a shared lamb shoulder was delicious but $69 for probably 400 grams of meat was a little steep for sitting at a bar standard. It turned out to be more than enough but we did have to pay for potatoes and greens - again pricey for what was there - but again delicious.
Amenities were good and close to tram for us - handy. Was it good - yes. Would I go back - probably not.
Service staff did a great job and I understand that they need to pack people in as it is not a big space and they have to get enough bums on seats to make it a functioning business.
Don't go if you are thinking you might like to have a conversation - we couldn't hear ourselves over the neighboring discussion - they had to shout to hear themselves due to the noise from a big table of over enthusiastic 30 somethings that were in happy mode - good on them.
I think the funniest part was that the head waiter (I think he was) said that "most people like to sit at the bar as they don't have to face each other as some find it confronting! " We found this amusing.
If you like the noise scene and great food you will love this place.
Fantastic food... lived up to its reputation! Did not disappoint
