Since 1998, la Spiga has been renowned for its authentic, northern Italian cuisine -- a gastronomic tribute to Italy's Emilia-Romagna region. La Spiga's chef and co-founder, Sabrina Tinsley, prepares all items from scratch, using whole foods and house-made stocks. You will never find artificial or chemical food enhancers in our kitchen…ever. What you will find is the highest quality olive oil, delectable cheeses and cured meats, seasonal vegetables, flavorful sauces, handmade pastas and more. We believe in local, organic, and sustainable, and our meats are hormone and antibiotic free. We also offer several vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free items to those with dietary restrictions.

Have been here many time. On this visit, the Gnocco Fritto appetizer was fabulous and enjoyable, like a short movie. The bean soup was jumping out of its bowl because it was so flavorful. The lasagne verde was excellent and beautifully lathered pasta and some sort of creamy miraculous goodness. The spaghetti or whatever pasta dish with wild boar tasted like a forest in the fall, perfect for that chilly Saturday night. Tartufo nero was ample enough to share and very good. Espresso was very good. The bill was adequate, but certainly not high. The main server was friendly and unobtrusive. I would give five stars, but: there are far too many people running around desperate to drag your dishes away from you. By the time the third or fourth person finally dragged out Gnocco Fritto platter away, still with food on it, it was done so fast we couldn't even object. If you have a plate you want to use for sharing an appetizer or anything else, and it's not heaped with food, watch out, they'll try to take it from you. It's obnoxious and annoying and totally unnecessary. Then, there was the server who helped bring out dishes and put them on the table. That's all she did, no other communication. She was an expert at dropping off her stuff and rushing away, leaving you no time to ask for, say, pepper or something else. These amateur touches don't ruin a fine experience, but they're a pain nonetheless.

The Wait staff was extremely commendable!
My wife had fallen on our walk to the restaurant and the staff provided
us with ice for the injury, very kind and efficient.

Nice setting but the food was mediocre. My wife had pasta with boar and I had ravioli with mushrooms. Pasta was was over cooked without much meat. Both dishes were not very flavorful.

I’ve been here many times before and never have I had such awful service. Waiter was barely audible, took our drink and appetizer orders and then didn’t come back did 25 minutes. The restaurant was quiet and we could see him sitting, wandering, standing around. We finally had to flag another server down to order our entrees and the salad course. Asked two times for butter for the bread and by the time it came the bread was cold. Entrees and salad course arrived together instead of staggered, and the pasta portion was very small. I don’t know if we will be back

The service was prompt but one of the servers came over many times to refill water, clear plates and even asked us for our napkins before we got up to leave-it was pretty distracting. The food was okay—the lasagna noodles were overcooked and the tagliolini was under sauced. We enjoyed the cocktails the most of what we had.

this was a return trip, but disappointing compared to our earlier ones. the servings were not just on the small side, but less than that. for example, the boar ragu pasta was about half or less than what we had previously been served, and certainly was NOT worth $20.00. We will give it one more try, because we wish we could like it. The live music was great and added a nice, sophisticated atmosphere, and the overall space is interesting and dynamic; but if the food doesn't measure up .....

Osteria La Spiga will always have a nostalgic place in my heart - from back when we used to frequent the smaller earlier location near the current one. It is a warm, welcoming place, their Italian food is outstanding and the Tiramisu delectable. I especially love the passion poured into their pasta (incredibly freshly made) and their simpler gravies like the ragu. This time, for my son’s birthday, we celebrated with some excellent mushroom truffle ravioli - outstanding!
Their Tiramisu is outstanding and we always save a spot for that. While this time, it seemed to not retain its shape when brought to us, the taste did not disappoint.

This is where my daughter wanted to have her sweet 16th birthday party with your best friends. She loved every part of the evening she loved the Bolognese & to top it off they did a special birthday dessert that had her name on it wishing her a happy birthday which she said “made me happy“ : )

the consistency and quality of the food is always present here, but it’s the little touches of class and caring that really set Osteria la Spiga apart. In a word; everything is awesome!

Wonderful meal on last day of Restaurant Week. Had never been to La Spiga before - what a lovely place. Great menu with a wide selection of Italian specialties as well as traditional favorites. Excellent service - we'll definitely be back.

Had a lovely dinner. even though it was restaurant week and it was busy, it was spacious, and we could hear each other talk. I had the black cod, very tasty, and my companion had the lasagna, very tender and creamy. our main server was knowledgable, helped us with wine selections, and made the evening more enjoyable.

The chocolate hazelnut torte was disappointing. It was cold, dry, and lacked flavor. The lasagna was delicious - once if the best I've had. The Gnocco Frito was tasty, but a little too deconstructed to eat without difficulty. Overall it was a great experience - the service was efficient and friendly.

Four of us dined here Seattle Restaurant Week. The menu was diverse & everyone enjoyed their meal. I started with the fried bread puffs & prosciutto. They were very generous with the prosciutto. For my entree, I had the pork cheeks - so tender! (Where have those been all of my life?!?). Desert was a simple chocolate hazelnut cake. It was small like a brownie. Other people at my table had the fish & sorbet. Delicious!

I’m originally from Seattle and my boyfriend and I took a vacation back home, and this is hands down one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Seattle. Our waiter was super friendly and made the experience that much better. Will always visit when I’m in town.

I was very impressed at the location. It's in chophouse row which includes several different restaurants. Once you walk in, the interior is huge. It's dark inside but where it needs to be lit, has plenty of lights. Food was exceptional. Doesn't have much in terms of presentation as I would imagine great Italian food does, but once you take the first bite, it was a dream. Would highly recommend.

Forgot to put in order for one of our entrees. Drinks came out highly staggered over 20 minutes after ordering. Ordered a second beer that I wanted to have with my entree. Took 15 minutes to arrive (a simple tap beer that should have taken one minute to bring to table) entree was already finished so I sent beer back.

Bar/drink coordination is horrendous.

The waitress was on our wavelength and made great recommendations and gave us just the right amount of attention. The cocktails were delicious as was food. The guitar combo was unexpected but was the icing on the cake, so to speak. It was a great birthday celebration for my friend. We even bought a rose from your fellow that travels thru dining room.

We enjoyed our server and the attentiveness of the staff with regards to clearing our plates.

However, the food was OK. And the face they had someone walking around the restaurant selling roses was very bothersome. We want to eat our meal without being approached (several times) to buy flowers.

This was one of the better Italian meals we've had in town. The dishes were simple but very well prepared. For example, we had fried polenta which allegedly was cooked in rice oil, imparting a very special flavor. We had one pasta dish that was excellent and short ribs that were tasty. Service was good and place was quiet enough for normal conversation.

I enjoy Osteria La Spiga because of it's easy location in the vibrant neighborhood of Capital Hill. We have always had superior service with knowledgable staff. Our family has tried everything on the menu and it is all very good and a great value.

The food is everything everyone said it would be...PERFECT. The lasagna and short ribs...the antipasti...drinks...all were spectacular. We went on a Wednesday night and it was wonderfully quiet. Service was top notch and not intrusive. I will be back.
