Osteria di Eataly - Eataly Chicago
Osteria di Eataly is the Eataly answer to the casual yet elevated dining experience. At this restaurant on the second floor, you can enjoy a full Italian meal comprised of antipasti, primi, and secondi in both modern and traditional preparations. The menu celebrates simple, fresh ingredients based on the season.
we just loved our experience. when our waiter learned that it was my birthday, we got dessert and a gift from management. The menu was varied and well executed. the whole place is alive and has a great vibe.
Great service. Appetizers outstanding. 2nd course average. Wallet not full enough for 3rd and desserts are on 1st level. Coupled with $40 parking plus wine and you’ve spent $125-175 to eat in a mall food court.
Excellent service and food.
We were really disappointed by our food and the speed of coursing was bizarre.
Food at Eataly is delicious but we prefer a quieter atmosphere rather than a table in the middle of the bustling market. W will continue to purchase and enjoy "take home" treats: homemade pasta, cheese, bread, wine, and other speciality items. The ice cream shop offers an excellent after movie treat, which we enjoy as there is less distraction from other shopping on the first floor.
Absolutely fabulous food. Delicious. Were lucky to get reservation and able to show to host as their computer system was down. Not heavy and great flavors. Drinks beforehand at Granata bar and much later in evening came back for gelato. Cannot wait to visit Eatalys in other cities we visit. Noisy and not very comfortable chairs but would definitely go again.
The restaurant does not take same day reservations through OpenTable. We arrived early for our seating only to be informed that the Eataly would not honor our reservation. User Beware.
Loud but seating was excellent. Food was ok
Eataly is a cool place to visit. The food is decent and the energy level in the place is high. It’s jammed packed with tourists all day long. Mostly because if that, the service suffers. The waitstaff is working hard but can’t keep up with the demands. I don’t think I would go back for a casual dinner but a fun place to take visitors.
Food was awesome. Though the menu was what you would see on a traditional Italian restaurant. Couple of guests after being seated looked at the menu and left. No lasagna or pizza the menu. Having said that, the food we ordered was very good. The staff was very attentive. Would go back again.
Extremely slow service
First time to Eataly- we’ll be back! Delicious food, fun atmosphere and amazing cannoli
The food never disappoints. Our server was amazing.
For $76 I anticipate that I will be able to get a drink refilled or maybe even some water to drink. They asked if we wanted more bread when our meal was served. I said we hadn’t gotten any in the first place they said we would get it right away and legitimately never saw another person until our plates were cleared and the check brought. For the money it was a real disappointment.
Such a fun experience, wonderful waiter and great vibe!!
Server was very attentive; food was delicious although I ordered squid ink pasta with seafood it was missing the octopus
We found the restaurant to have a sidewalk cafe feel inside a busy urban marketplace. This set the tone for a delightful , casual ambience. Food was good, we are spoiled by great mom and pop Italian restaurants at home. Service was fabulous, treated as if we were the most important diners there( we we not) it was busy !
Food expensive for the portions provided. Best thing was the service.
we waited a long time for service - then eventually we got our entrées but they forgot our salads. Not much of an apology. Waiter never asked if we wanted a second drink. Noise level is so high hard to talk.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service was good as well
Great food and service was good. A bit over priced.
Not what I expected when I made the reservation, was expecting a nice Italian resto! Well, this place is massive on two floors, markets, multiple restos located throughout the building each specializing in the food from a specific part of Italy all open, loud and very busy. Once you get past that, the food is exceptional and it is a full experience that you must do when in Chicago. What a concept!!
The food was great but definitely overpriced, the service very poor and not helpful at all. It was for a birthday celebration but no one even acknowledged that or asked if we would like any dessert...
If you're looking for good food in a fun atmosphere, this would be it. I had the halibut special Catch of the Day and it was excellent, although the portion was a bit small for the price. The branzino my friend had was excellent and since it was the whole fish, the portion was good. My other friend had the regular strip steak and again, portion was definitely on the small side, like a 4 oz piece of meat. Flavor was good, but portions are definitely an issue for the prices they are charging. I will still recommend it for the experience and ambiance, but not for a big eater.
Great food great service
Reservation was cancelled before we got there. Did not get a chance to enjoy it.
We truly enjoyed the creative, stimulating and friendly environment focused on food. We found gifts for family members and are planning our next visit. Eataly was a gift from our kids... what a great memory to have.
Loved it! It is very loud in there but it is an amazing experience. Food was delicious. Portions were decent sized. Our waitress was amazing. Super sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Mala nada agradable
Great food, cool atmosphere! Not too expensive. Service was slightly slow but friendly.
We love it here. Can't wait for Eataly Miami (Fort Lauderdale?) to get here.
The pasta with clams was the best I have ever had... it was executed perfectly!
This was our first visit and we thoroughly loved the environment and the food. Our server Enrique was awesome and attentive. This was right after we had a negative experience with Pizza and Pasta manager lady who came up to us and talked down to our family because we made reservation to Osteria but wanted to order more items from Pizza and Pasta. We didn’t know they were separate. But she definitely could have been more courteous in her exchange. Otherwise we had a lovely experience.
We made a reservation, were seated, and no one came to see us for over 15 minutes. The poor waiter was overwhelmed with tables and that made the service poor. It was not his fault he was doing his best but he should not have had so many tables. We ended up leaving after being ignored for too long.
Went here for Mother’s Day with my husband and 2 adult kids. We had reservations and got right in. It was busy and noisy but that’s expected at a place like this. The server was running around so it wasn’t as attentive as in high end restaurant. We were served bread and olive oil which we ate quickly since we were hungry. We asked for seconds which we got easily. We shared the octopus appetizer which my husband loved but I thought it had too much pepper. All of us loved our pasta selections. I had agnolotti, my husband had penne, son 1 had seafood pasta and son 2had a veggie pasta- it was filled with soft gooey which was delicious. Portions were adequate and not super large which was perfect. After we ate, we walked around to shop and ended up buying olive oil, hard salami and chocolates.
Went for mother’s day, food was excellent, waiter (Angel) was outstanding! There was no pizza on the menu but he talked to his manager and they brought my son a pizza from the pizza station in the store. Prices were very reasonable compared to Chicago steakhouses and trendy restaurants. We will go back.
The seafood was not fresh in my meal, no sauce on my kids meals, the noodles were crunchy.
What a great experience!!
Thank you!! Will definitely recommend!!
Food was great and love the atmosphere!
I've been to many Italian restaurants throughout my travels but I definitely will return to Eataly as my preferred choice of dining. Excellent staff and felt welcomed, plenty of wines to choose from and to purchase.
i expect better service and overall experience for the money.
