Located inside the Charlotte street hotel it is situated in London"s media neighbourhood just a few minutes walk from leafy Soho Square, the British Museum and the theatre district. It is within easy reach of the financial centre and is surrounded by some of London's most vibrant bars, restaurants and cafes.
Special occasion and definitely came up to expectation. First time friend has been and apart from charging for vegetables as an extra, we were happy. Missed the fact that it was a birthday celebration, but staff ensured we felt special. Turkey special was delightful.... yesthoroughly recommend.
Fab place to catch up with friends for brunch.. Delicious food, attentive staff.
Outstanding food and enjoyed the whole lunch very much
Beautiful restaurant & menu : )
We started with sweetbreads & scallops✅
Mains: coq au vin, quail ✅
Servers confused on order selections - who orders what & which table ...
Nice ambiance. Average wine list. Friendly service. Uninspiring food.
A beautiful venue and charming service, supported by a varied menu. I went for the venison which was as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate, with great attention to detail in the flavour combinations and presentation. I'd say this is a great venue for a celebration meal.
It was a really lovely experience. Having been to the ham yard didn’t think anything could beat it but the staff here were amazing and very kind. The manager on (Saturday around 1) was a very thoughtful and attentive woman. All waiters did anything and everything to make us comfortable.
Breakfast at Oscar Restaurant was lovely - delicious omelette, great service, and lovely ambiance. I'd highly recommend it and am already looking forward to my next visit.
I booked a table for lunch for my partner's 40th birthday, the cocktails are to die for :) the food was fab and the service was exceptional! The lovely lady whom waited on us even took the time to ask why we were there, she came back with a birthday cake including a candle for my partner, he was over the moon! I would highly recommend Oscar's.
Staff was polite and helpful. I want to reservation 7.30 but open table didn’t give me a opportunity after 7pm. I thought restaurant will be full. But only 3 table was full until 9.30 while we left.
Good food, very noisy and loud room
This was one of the best afternoon teas my daughter and I have ever had. First of all the front doors were opened for us by two gentleman in smart dress welcoming us in, then the front desk seemed really pleased we were having afternoon tea there, saying how lovely. We were seen to our seats quickly and and had the menu explained to us, The table looked beautiful especially the tea set. We are both vegetarians and were bought out an array of sandwiches and cakes of course, which were delicious including two each of what tasted like home made scones, with two different jams and clotted cream. The tea was very good and my daughter had coffee. The staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. We were given this treat as tokens to say thank you from my son and daughter in law for helping with their wedding and we can't thank them enough. Even down to other afternoon teas we have had with tokens, and having been charged admin/service charges of £9.00. Thank you for a memorable day.
Beautiful surroundings and amazing food. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and would go back
All good at this restaurant as part of the Charlotte Street Hotel which I didn't realise. The staff were great. thank you
Beautiful venue, excellent service, reasonably priced and excellent location.
Booked Oscar as I used to visit there inbetween meetings and its a good sociable lunch spot for meeting people in town. The prices have really inflated and £21 for a chicken caesar salad is really over the top, it's also far noisier than before. Still, a nice spot, but not great for trying to hear someone or have an intimate lunch.
Terrible and discriminatory — we came for brunch and were greeted by a waiter who claimed that he had to take our card to start a tab — for a brunch meal?!!! He didn’t ask for the card from the neighboring table, so I have to imagine we didn’t look especially trustworthy to him. I have to wonder if it had to do with my husband’s ethnicity.
I asked for a brunch deal with a choice of Prosecco, at which point the waiter haughtily informed me they ‘only have Champagne.’ (The menu explicitly says Bloody Mary or Prosecco for the brunch deal)
The tea and drinks came full 15 minutes after the order, which seemed like needlessly long for a fairly empty restaurant. The food came much later still and my eggs were cold. It then took us around 5 minutes to try to get the waiter’s attention for the bill — my husband ended going inside since we failed.
Was ok, bit expensive but ok
Beautifully decorated and very comfortable restaurant. Unfortunately it was very empty tonight (Bank holiday Monday) but there was a guitarist playing which was lovely. Service was good and friendly. Food excellent and portions were a good size. A little bit pricey but finding that everywhere seems to be putting prices up. That said had a lovely meal and nice end to a great weekend
Booked Oscar Restaurant in Charlotte Street Hotel for a business lunch. It was fantastic. A varied menu to suit all diets, delicious food, wonderful and friendly service and I'll definitely book it again.
We had a really great lunch - excellent food, really well cooked and presented, accompanied by some lovely wine & prosecco- a really enjoyable and memorable meal, though a little on the pricey side
£25 menu is not same as the one shown in the opentable app so we ordered the £55 set menu, my only comment is that I can get a way better quality of food from £35 set menu from many places
The restaurant is very nice and do the bar area. Food was very good. Lively place to have lunch or dinner
Charlotte St Hotel and Oscar's Restaurant is always a great option for dinner ... the set menu and wine choice are good value and the service is wonderful. I'm also a big fan of the cozy cinema in the basement ...
Wonderful gem of a venue.
Waiting staff are superb
Set menu was disappointing unfortunately. Food was small and not great. Drinks are expensive, partially justified by the great service and surrounds, but overall value was poor given the low quality of food. Such a shame.
Great breakfast prepared to perfection with helpful but unobtrusive service - top stuff
We had great service and the food was excellent. The location is walking distance to the British History Museum. They served Gluten Free bread prior to the meal which was excellent. I had the fish, risotto and the soup of the day for starters. The fish was cooked, deboned and the sauce was excellent over the fish. I had a chocolate desert to finish the meal and the evening. We had wine with the meal. The wine was good and the servers are knowledgeable about the wine list and made a great selection. The staff understood my allergy and communicated with the other servers and chefs. My wife is vegetarian and had a great meal also. I would recommend this restaurant especially for gluten free diners like me and will return when in town.
Very overpriced bar menu, music so loud you couldn't hear and portions very small.
Great food and service. Really good atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Lovely experience overall - incredibly attentive staff and great service. My only criticism is that my friend ordered from the menu that included the buffet, only for it to be packed away before he had got to it, without being told the time it finished. They did rectify this though with an apology and they brought back the dishes to allow him to have what he wished.
Fantastic service and food. The Green Snapper on the cocktail menu is a stroke of genius.
Soup Vesta good. Chicken breast was very dry once lost its heat. Service was good overall.
We had a great waiter and the starters (rib) was amazing. However the vegan main course was inedible - the chef clearly cannot make vegetables and tofu taste like anything and they were just swimming in oil. Such disappointment. Thankfully great service rescued the day! I would visit again but maybe for breakfast or coffee only.
Amazing design by Kit Kemp. It is worth going just for that.
The food was simple but perfect. Could not fault it.
Atmosphere in the bar area is also great.
First time I had been, have already recommended to friends. Very friendly, helpful staff and exquisite food and lively atmosphere. I will definitely go back
Firmdale restaurants are always fantastic and Oscars is no exception. Lovely staff, great service, delicious food, good value
Went in for lunch, great set menu available, very reasonably priced. Food was fast and very high quality matched with efficient and friendly service. Thank you
Good selection of gluten free dishes and staff asked about food allergies without prompting. Good value set menu.
Great menu, particularly for veggies; food freshly prepared and beautifully presented.
