We always enjoy Orsay, will be returning for their outstanding brunch on Sunday.
As always, a wonderful evening at Orsay— my favourite restaurant in Manhattan—
Great food and service
A rip off.
Third rate quality of food.
My shoes were more tender than my stack and my wife's fish was dry.
We payed a fortune for terrible food.
Service nice. Extremely noisy.
I was there over 10 years ago... now I know why...
LOVE this place!!! Coq a vin - absolutely amazing!!!
The waiter seemed edgy and false
Our order was wrong three times. Some of the food was cold by the time the rest of the food came. Everyone ate at a different time. Others around us were having the same problems.
The food was not good which is a disappointment because it was so good before
The brunch was fabulous. The Croque Madame was to die for
A disappointment and don't know that I can recommend. Got their early (6PM) and by the time we ordered they ran out of their nightly special (Dorade)!!!! I ordered halibut, which was overcooked and my friend ordered red snapper which showed up as a minuscule piece of fish on a bed of greens. An appetizer cheese plate had tasty cheeses but also small amounts of cheese for $23! Their menu is pretty but bloated with print listing all the ingredients of every dish but is quite limited in scope and very expensive for what you get. The service was semi-attentive (very quick to remove an empty wine glass and ask if you want another) but need to ask for bread or other items. Not sure it's still under original ownership when it was known as a fine place to dine on upper east side. Still seems to be very busy on a Friday night but, under the circumstances we found, not sure why.
Animated brasserie with consistently good food, nice atmosphere and good service.
So reminiscent of eating in Paris-food is really good, service is attentive, but it’s the atmosphere that makes this place special
Memorable evening at Orsay where service, food and overall experience were first rate.
Always spot on perfection for a Sunday afternoon. The chilled pea basil soup w shrimp and escargot were a yummy delight on a warm day. Bottomless iced tea was brewed to perfection.
This sunny sidewalk cafe is a must-do every time I visit the city
Good food. Good service. Good ambience. Good wine.
Enjoyable time was had by all
I always return to this restaurant because the food is so delicious! Service is attentive and the noise level is low. Love this place!
I love this place. It is like being in Paris. The steak tartare is amazing. I had the poached salmon one of the best I have ever eaten. The Wednesday prime rib special looked too good to believe. It is not cheap maybe
$100 per person I thought it was worth it
Service very poor. Four different people tried to take my order and then ignored me. Took me at least 10 minutes to order a glass of wine. Service at Orsay usually very good and perhaps this failure was a result of vacations.
Decent bistro fare. There are better bistro's in NYC, but this one is not as cramped as most others. Service is attentive and professional. Not my first choice but on the list.
Food was decent but not for the price. Duck wasn’t marinated long enough to taste and orange flavor and it didn’t have enough sauce to compensate either. Chocolate moose was good. Rest was just ok.
The escargot was terrible. No garlic. Way overpriced. The chef has obviously never eaten in a French restaurant.
The sole is delicious. Next time I’d get the sauce on the side
Pricey, very good food & service, good ambiance
We were very well looked after and had a quiet table. Food was nice as well as the service. Ambience very pretty. It feels really French.
Great waiter, food was good not great, great ambience
Dinner with Grandma who does not hear well. They placed us at the perfect talk. Food was excellent. Service was incredibly attentive. We love this place. It was our third time there and it never disappoints.
This is my go-to restaurant on the Upper East Side. An excellent value for your franc. The owners are present and accounted for and keep an eye out to make sure every customer is well taken care of and treated like a King. The waitstaff are professional and deliver lighting-fast service, but are intuitive enough to know if you're having a special occasion and can easily slow things down to a more romantic pace. Lastly, this restaurant is the only remaining successor to Swifty's left on Lexington Avenue. Social types and power brokers dine with families outside on the side patio or at the bar to broker deals. Highly regarded by anyone in the know.
I already told friends about the wonderful experience. I love Restaurant Wwe!
Wonderful , busy spot with lovely shaded outdoor dining. Great during restaurant week. Always make a ressie
Very good experience.
Seated outside. Staff was really great. Service was good. Food was amazing.
Excellent, as always!
Great outdoor dining, ambiance and service. We took advantage of the weather and sat out. Very pleasant and and nice upscale clientele. The chilled pea soup and the French onion soup were great. Artichokes vinaigrette was not as good as other times the leaves were rather rough. Would not recommend huevos rancheros, stick with French meals. Overall quite pleased the same
Food and service were great, but one thing put a slight damper on the morning. We had requested outdoor seating, but were told it was unavailable. However, there was an open table for five right outside for the duration of our meal, and only a small walk away from our indoor table. Seemed a little silly to not honor our request when a table was right there in front of us, especially when it was a birthday brunch (which we also indicated).
But otherwise great and will be back.
Food was good. The staff were very friendly and nice. Great location.
A perfect place for lunch and dinner in the summer with friends and family!
Whenever we go to Orsay we have a great time, I always love going there with my friends. I was there Friday and the service and attention was excellent, yet I went back Sunday and I was completely unsatisfied, the service was very bad and we had a waitress who had such arrogant attitude and was not cordial at all, that truly upset my friends and I.
I really liked this restaurant - the food was excellent, the ambiance charming. I'll definitely be back!
This delightful sidewalk cafe transports you to Paris with its attentive staff inventive menu and chic guests. It is a repeatable visit every time we’re in New York as it is consistently wonderful
The chilled pea soup and truffle salad were perfection on a day with a 96 heat index. The passion fruit iced tea was refreshing but not cloying.
Fantastic dinner and great service. This was my first time dining there and I’ll be back! The food was wonderful!
Orsay is a neighborhood favorite especially when we want a taste of Paris! This time it was a lunch of perfectly poached cold salmon a with a crisp rose chaser. Crusty bread and tap water were offered without asking. The service was efficient and leisurely. The manager took the time to visit many tables to see if all was well , and it was the perfect way to spend a few hours with good friends on a hot NYC afternoon.
