Oriental Tea House - Little Collins
As for our tea, each signature blend is hand-crafted by Oriental Teahouse founder David Zhou. Since moving from Shanghai to Melbourne David has dedicated his life to understanding the holistic healing properties of different teas, creating blends that are as beneficial for the body as they are on the taste buds.
I think you need to add more gluten free meat options to your menus, not everyone will settle for just veggie based meals.
Three small dumplings for $10 isnt value for money either. Go at least 5.
Table of 15 people beside us was quite loud, i wouldve preferred not to have them directly beside my hearing aids.
Service was impeccable, food was tasty.
I know there are many places one can go for a good chinese meal but I really enjoy the quality of the food here and it has a nice atmosphere. The service is good and the food is delicious.
Brilliant food great for sharing
I wanted to eat yumcha, but i couldn’t eat. When I checked the website, there’s any mention about it finish at 1:30pm. That’s why I booked the table at1:30pm. So when i arrived there, i couldn’t order yumcha. I just ordred 2dumpling dish and 1 share dish. I think dumpling is over priced, however share dish( beef menu) was taste good. If there’s any notice about yumcha trading hour on the website, i would more enjoy my lunch.
Wonderful service: we had arrived before opening, it was very hot outside and we were invited to come inside even though they weren’t quite ready. We were made welcome and offered drinks.
Food was delicious, wonderful menu selection, especially the very creative types of dumplings eg angus beef, satay etc. Highly recommend and will be going again soon.
We had the $43 feast, excellent value. Had an incredible amount of food!
Great spot for yum cha and dim sum. Food was great. As was the attentive service. Highly recommend a visit.
Great food, excellent and friendly service, very polite and lovely staff!
Good food, yum cha was fairly limited in offering. Overall a good place, service was a tad slow.
A great little find tucked into the back streets of the CBD. A little noisy sitting outside, but then it was lunchtime , on a weekday, in the city. Food was awesome, you have to try an assortment of dumplings! Good wines. Will be back, afterall, I haven't tried all the dumplings yet.
Very pleasant environment food was great though slightly overpriced
Love the yum cha service. Always a great feed and plenty of choices.
Food was quite yum, I have been before for the yum cha service and then for a la carte service on a Sunday. Food as I said was delicious and portion sizing was perfect for the 4 of us. However, service was very slow. There was hardly a waiter in sight when we needed to reorder or ask questions. When we asked for chilli oil, the waiter looked at us and said ‘ugh, it’s the same’. But they had just given us oil initially. We all thought that was quite rude. We have normally asked for chilli oil at all other Asian restaurants where we are given the same thing. But if oriental spoon refer to it as something else then they should’ve checked to see that their diners are on the same page as them. I would recommend the yum cha service. But maybe don’t go on a Sunday around 1pm if you want proper customer service.
First visit for a birthday celebration. Excellent food and very good table service.
Great food, friendly and attentive staff. Meal was perfectly paced.
I was introduced to Oriental Tea House by a friend and have been back every week!
It is delicious, authentic and the staff are fabulous!
The food was delicious as always. Unfortunately I was right under the aircon which made it a bit chilly (they may want to look into the strength of their aircon on a not hot day).
More than expected..excellent..yummy definitely will be back
Food and portions were average in flavour, depth and size. The restaurant had a nice ambience with solid interior, however, the restaurant seemed to focus on the interior design and showcasing of tea rather than the food itself.
Loved loved loved this place! Every dish was delicious!
Poor service unfortunately let’s this place down. Staff were disorganised and inexperienced. Food just average. We had the yum cha but should have had alacarte
It was my first time with family. Staff were friendly but service was slow. The staff forgot our order of a glass of warm water and a tea. Food was reasonably good. Would recommend to friends.
Good food, good service, pleasant staff, reasonably priced
Great venue with delicious food and excellent service!!
it was very nice foods, they are so tasty and delicious.
one of my favourite restaurants now.
Great food , service, drinks , location , best dumplings
My favourite dumplings! Had family from England who said it was outstanding.
We decided to go here for a nice Sunday lunch and came away really happy with our choice. We had a variety of dishes and it was hard to decide which was our favourite they were all so good. Fresh ingredients, vibrant flavours and amazing taste. Sometimes the service was a little slow but the food is well worth the wait. Staff are friendly, and it looks like they have some nice private spaces for large groups if you wanted that. All in all we'll be coming back again.
Great food and wine delivered by friendly staff making the overall experience very pleasant. Will come again and again, never had a bad meal here.
Been twice and both times it’s been tasty food and great service.
This place always delivers on beautiful food, service and atmosphere. Everything is delicious and the staff are happy, efficient and personable. We came with some friends from interstate and they loved it too. Great place for all different occasions. Love it here.
Awesome food, perfect for a relaxed catch up. Service was a little hard to get when we wanted to order more but we had been slow to order at the start as we kept talking.
Was a nice place to be aesthetically speaking, the food and drink itself I can only describe as average, not bad but certainly nothing special. We grabbed a 4 person feast deal and it felt like we paid about $5 - $10 each too much for what we got. The desert especially was disappointing, only 1 scoop of ice cream to share between 4 people. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
A bit pricy but food is delicious! The tea a very lovely.
We couldn't recommend the Oriental Tea House more highly. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, especially Justin, nothing was too much trouble. And the food, it was amazing! We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Melbourne.
Slightly larger serving sizes would be better considering how much you’re paying. Especially the dumplings eg. 3 dumplings for $11 is a little pricy.
We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere!price and quantity was good
Wonderful food full of flavour. Not large meals but certainly filling enough. Nice range of dishes on the menu. The ginger fish was amazing.
Loved it! Yummy food, great decor and fantastic ambience. Will return again soon!
We had dinner one night and Food came too quickly.
Are the dumplings Gluten Free no one knew?
Wine too expensive how about some House White Wines in the $30 range
We had difficulty booking through Open Table. We could not vary our booking once it was made. When we arrived at the restaurant they did not seem to have our booking and put us upstairs.
