My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at OpenAire. It was our anniversary, which was notated on the OpenTable notes, but there was no recognition of this fact.
The customer service was great for the 90% of our dining. After the shift change it was not as good.
Ambiance was wonderful but food was definitely not worth our over $200 check.
Also, they allow dogs to sit at the table with the diners. I normally would not have a problem with this except it was a small enclosed greenhouse so they should have considered not allowing pets.
I would recommend going there once for the experience.
I had made reservations on march 13th for my birthday and had 6 guests with me from out of town to come celebrate with me. I had called an hour before I left my house since this restraunt is an hour drive from my house and asked if they were open due to corona virus and because of the weather. I spoke to a girl, can't remember her name. She said they had a leak but fixed it and was now back open. When I arrived with my group, the restaurant was closed and when I spoke to the only person there, all they said was sorry but we are closed. I wasn't upset that it was closed, I was upset with the LACK OF COMMUNICATION. When you make reservations they take down your number, therefor if there are any changes (in this case the leak) I think it would of been professional to call the guest and let them know the news. I drove an hour away to be turned back around. After It was too late to eat brunch anywhere and me and all my guests were very upset. Along with it being my birthday, it was ruined. I at least would have been happy too get a voucher for next time. UNPROFESSIONAL
Love it 😍
Made our gathering perfect and the service was amazing.
Food atmosphere and service superb. Really pleased with excellent service by Brei our servers . She was fantastic.
Loud and fun.
The service was terrible. They sat us outside and for the whole evening were dragging heaters back and forth to all the tables, replacing the gas in them, it was very distracting - especially when it was freezing outside when our burner went out. (Why did they not set these up ahead of time?). We had to keep asking for them to turn our heater back on and had to keep flagging down the staff to order. His response was "the restaurant is full." Of course it's full, it's 7:30 on a Saturday and by the way you're welcome?? I mean...seriously? The food all came out at different times. The waiter didn't explain if these were supposed to be shared plates or not, but every dish was sat in the center of the table regardless of who ordered it. I had the cod which was great - really small and really expensive - with no sides. The waiter never explained portion sizes or if we should be ordering sides or if our meals came with sides. I was starving after dinner, but not about to order something else and wait an hour for it to arrive in the cold. Our parking was only validated for 2 hours and the meal took 2.5 hours to be sat, order, and eat - nothing extra. $16.50 for parking... Great. I will never go back here. It's sad because I think the chef was really good.
Our reservation was almost not accomodated and we had to order in 5 minutes before the kitchen closed which was not a great first experience. The space is beautiful but the noise level is high so more of a boozy brunch vibe. The food was standard, not bad, but nothing I'd write home about. Go for the Instagrammable space.
Food was all right. Ambiance was great! Definitely looked roomier on IG than IRL. One and done.
The food was really disappointing. Very bland and didn’t even look that good. The vibe was really cool and the scene was chill but $75 for 2 people was really not worth it. We won’t be going back.
Hope we were informed about the dessert fee for the birthday cake.
Despite having a brunch reservation at 10:45, we were not seated until 11:50. The food was great. I had the tuna nicoise and my friend the corn flake crusted french toast. Strangely, our waiter switched half way through the meal, which threw us a bit off guard. Good food and great interior, but they really need to work on managing their reservations better... if I hadn't been looking forward to coming for a while, I would've left.
Amazing! The service is superb
Openaire has great ambience however the food is very basic I feel like the menu could be way better to accommodate the great ambiance. In addition to that my food had hair and it immediately lost my appetite and sent it back.. aside from that the drinks are really good.
The food and service was excellent. We were very pleased with the quality of food and taste. We had the little gem salad, winter fruits & vegetables, and hamachi appetizer to start. Paired with white wine it was quite delicious. So fresh and just the right amount of seasoning. For our main, we had the truffle risotto along with the Sonoma duck. The duck was so flavorful & soft and the risotto was outstanding. The shaved truffle is the real deal...not the oil stuff most places use. We concluded the meal with a dark chocolate cake along side coffee and tea. The service personnel are very courteous and attentive. We are eating here again for sure.
It was great service. We got there half an hour early and we’re able to get seated right away.
Staff was amazing. Literally a dream team. We came in with our young infant child and the server literally babysat him while we ate. Other staff members talked to him, made him laugh etc. The manager stopped in to check on us and we expressed our appreciation. The ambiance was amazing even at night. I've heard its better during the day. Great tasting food and our server new the menu like the back of her hand. Loved everything about this establishment.
Lovely setting and food was incredible - flavors and presentation were unique and delicious!
Amazing service!! They had to close for Valentine’s Day, but gave us $100 in credit. We went a few days later and they were extremely apologetic and gave us free champagne, appetizer and a plate of lamb chops! We were extremely well fed that night and when we finished our meal, the manager said it was on them 😌 dissapointed that we couldn’t dine there on Valentine’s Day but they MADE UP for it 100%!! The food was also AMAZING. An amazing apple salad appetizer and the steak was so great!!!
Service is really slow and not attentive. We went for lunch and had the duck pasta, which was bland. The cocktails were good and the indoor seating is pretty, but overall not worth the price.
EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD! Oh my god!! I am definitely going back.
My mom and I got the sautéed prawn toast for appetizer (sooooo good!), the little gem lettuce salad, snake river sirloin steak with yuzu sauce (THIS WAS AWESOME!) and the chocolate cake for dessert, which was also good!
Everything was great! I want to go back to try the other dishes.
Thank you, Openaire!
Absolutely incredible!! I initially had a reservation for Valentine's Day but there was an emergency that prevented them from opening. I went last night as a late Valentine's Day Dinner and everything was above an beyond, the service, the food, the drinks! They surprised us with an on the house side and champagne and dessert. I can't wait to go back and I can't say enough how appreciative I am that they apologized for not being able to serve us on Valentine's Day but made up for it in so many ways!!
Space is beautiful, food was delicious. Brunch bottomless options could be better. Our Server Chris Brown was by far the highlight of the experience. He was energetic, funny, helpful and quick. He is the best employee in the establishment.
I visited this establishment on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020. I had a 12:30 pm reservation but we ran 30 mins behind. We tried calling several times to notify the restaurant; however, no one picked up the phone, we left a voicemail. I was disappointed upon arrival the host was dancing in front of the hostess stand, jumping up and down, which I thought was a little unprofessional, talking to a coworker instead of greeting the customer. After I informed her of our reservation she said you’re late so it’s been cancelled as well as you didn’t call! I said excuse me, did you check your voicemail!?! She said no, I replied, perhaps you should switch up your talk track, and ask us first, did we call and notify anyone we were running late, as opposed to assuming we didn’t call. She informed us that she had to get a table ready and I asked her was it ok for us to wait at the bar, she shrugged her shoulders, and started talking to another guest. I instantly became irritated and walked off. We ended up eating at the bar, the bar tenders were very pleasant and attentive. The food was just okay, my pancakes tasted like chalk, and my food came out cold, I had to send it back. The martinis were very good.
Openaire has a wonderful ambiance and very attentive and caring staff. I went for my borthday and while I enjoyed the new experience, the reserevd table felt cramped and wasn't ready when I arrived with my party. There were also significant issues navigating the umbrellas for shade and many of the Brunch items advertised on the website were not available during my visit at peak Brunch hours last Sunday.
Again, the staff was absoilutely wonderful and the food was well plated and flavorful. However the music was a bit too loud, I think it was coming from a speaker strapped to the railing. I also feel they could easily set up a waiting area in the hall leading to the restaurant, as the poolside really isn't suitable for large parties to standby for a table. All in all it was a nice experience although I don't anticipate returning. For such premium pricing and such a premium location, I would think these types of kinks would have been worked out.
Beautiful interior, mediocre food and value. The restaurant canceled our reservations with less than 24 hours notice due to emergency repairs. Understandable, but they did not reach out to reschedule. I discovered it via OpenTable and had to find future availability. Once we got there we had to wait in a long line despite having reservations. When we were finally sat, a bartender accidentally shot the cork from a champagne bottle at our table. As for the food- the french toast was unique and good, but don't waste your money on the smoked salmon plate. The interior is gorgeous, however. I would recommend coming here for drinks and skipping the food given our experience.
We missed our indoor seating reservation by 30 minutes. I had a friend visiting just for the weekend and this was the only time in our schedules we could bring her for brunch (literally right before her flight). We tried earlier but our reservation for the previous day was cancelled due to a water line break. We were seated inside after a bit of a wait. The food came out promptly and surpassed our expectations. Everything was incredibly delicious and was a great way to send my friend off on one last outing together. We had the French toast, cinnamon roll, soft omelette, flat iron steak, and avocado toast. Highly recommend! Great food, ambience, and service!
Excellent place to eat. The noise level was about what you'd expect for a busy restaurant.
The chefs in the kitchen are very clever in their menu and pulling flavors you wouldn't expect from some of the dishes.
I highly recommend the roasted carrots, you'll be VERY pleasantly surprised.
We were excited to try this restaurant it looked really cool and different. Unfortunately the experience was not enjoyable. When we arrived the hostess was rude seeming to have a bad attitude. We arrived 1 min past their grace period and she was very short and unfriendly. We did try to call and let them know but no one picked up the telephone. I think customer service is important and friendly service would have been appreciated. There was no explanation regarding our reserved table. We were sat outside in a corner by a non-working heater. It took 15 minutes to get served water. Portion sizes for plates were extremely small it felt like appetizers. Limited conversation from waitress and rarely checked back in even though the restaurant didn’t seem that busy. Food was decent, but very small portions. Overall the general atmosphere was nice, but the service did not make our experience worth the price.
Overpriced, small portions, bad service with multiple waiters who didn't communicate, frustrating experience all around. The inside was pretty but too noisy to enjoy. The heat lamp outside over us almost caught fire twice. Will never come back.
Online says the parking is validated for two hours which is invalid. You still have to pay $11. It was sprinkling and we had to sit outside even though we had made a reservation.
The ambiance is nice, the decoration is beautiful, the drinks are good, the food is good, the price is pretty steep.
I had a great time but it’s so dimly lit it’s almost too dark
The restaurant is near the Wiltern theater the atmosphere is quiteLovely. But the problem is they don’t open until 530 so you were very rushed eating to get to the theater on time. I strongly suggest that since most of the people in the restaurant we’re going to the event that they consider opening at five or even 445 to accommodate that audience. The food was amazing and they did try to help us but we only had 20 minutes to eat.
Way too loud at brunch... I love the place but it is a choice between the space vs. being able to hear each other. Avocado toast was GREAT..We liked some of the dishes better than others.
They have a nice location and beautiful restaurant, but they need some upgrades. Better descriptions of what is in the food. The server had no idea what was gluten free and diary free. If you are not training your staff you need to just have GF menu and what is vegan on the menu. How about teach them how to open a bottle of wine? If you are going to buy a $100 bottle of wine teach them how to cut the foil and properly open a bottle. These are basic skills you have to make sure your employees know how to do. Lastly, your communal table is pushed so close to the wall you can't get out. If you have to go by 15 people to get out give us enough room to do that without having to say excuse me and get them to move their chair up. It is just a bad design. The people that run this restaurant need to eat in it and fix this one.
Wonderful food....wonderful atmosphere..... would definitely come here again and would definitely recommend
The amount of food is less, the distance between tables can be wider.
