The halibut was a little overcook - Chewy texture. Sea bass was good but the sides and sauces didn’t compliment the fish. This is based on my personal opinion.
Good food, high prices
As always, everything was delicious!
We had an outdoor table and was able to enjoy a colorful sunset. The whole family had a great time and even the sushi was surprisingly good.
I would definitely recommend One North to a friend! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Food was delicious and service was superb. The menu has anything you could possibly want to eat. In addition to the menu, the specials were very unique. Great experience, we will definitely be going back!!
We had an anniversary dinner
Wonderful dining experience from Paul who was most accommodating in selecting a perfect table for us to our servers Luis and Victoria who were personable professional and a joy to chat with . Also of note we’re both Jules our bartender and Jules the sommelier. They made our night special with a wonderful martini and a well chosen bottle of Brunello wine that was most enjoyed throughout our meal . Lastly the attentive service and lovely dessert with anniversary wishes finished the night beautifully .we look forward to returning :) thanks so much
Service and food was excellent!
It takes a moment to recover when you walk into the recently renovated interior of what was formerly the Maine Maid Inn. Gone are the nooks and crannies, creaky staircase and uneven wooden floors. Now the experience is like walking into an exotic hotel lobby, complete with pulsing music! It is overwhelming but if you take a few moments to take it all in it is wonderful! We sat facing the bar which is centrally located and sits under a beautiful sculpture of fish. We were told that on Thursday and Friday nights, it is like a club there and the bar needs 5 bartenders! There is indoor, outdoor and under an overhang seating,. The menu is a fairly diverse selection of Mediterranean-inspired choices and while we both had different items from the menu - everything was fabulous! Service was pleasant and friendly. Highly recommend a visit!
Was our second time at One North and felt it fell a little off the mark. The service although he was polite it seemed he was distracted and found ourselves waiting. The food was good but portions were smaller than the previous time. During our dinner the table next to ours, the guests seemed to know our and another waiter. During this time they seem to have occupied their time waiting on them and less time with our table. Although an OK time might consider a different place for dinner.
Too many men came to our table to ask how everything was. There were four of us. Each ordered an appetizer and an entree. I ordered the caponata. I love eggplant and this is an excellent Sicilian appetizer. However, this one was more of a dessert. It was very sweet and not well balanced with the Vinegar. It had no pine nuts and it just seemed like someone squashed eggplant, tomatoes and sugar together. That is not a caponata. The Iberico ham was not the best. Too much fat. Pieces were super small and too few for the price. The burrata was good but the truffles should have been shaved not ground up. The carciofini were plain. Three of us ordered the risotto with the langostine. Risotto was overcooked and the langostine was so overcooked that it was not edible. However I must say that the restaurant is quite impressive. I don't want to mention the name of our waiter because he was young and obviously new because he didn't know the menu at all. A place as impressive as this should have a "seasoned" wait staff. This was my first time in this restaurant. It was recommended by my daughter who is a regular here with her boyfriend. I don't think I will ever return because at these prices I can find many other restaurants that have less ambiance but much better food. I hope one of those many men dressed in suits who came to our table will read this. By the way, restaurant is very loud so if you're thinking of an intimate romantic dinner, this might not be the place.
Wonderful experience at One North. The Tomahawk and Large Prawn with risotto were two of the best dishes that i have ever had. The service was flawless and loved sitting outside. Great place.
The food and the space are good. The room is large and spacious. The prices however are outrageously expensive!!! I live in Manhattan and I’d have to try and find a place that overpriced... So over priced that I won’t be go back!!!
Albert is wonderful
Our waiter, Victoria, and her partner were fantastic. One North has always provided superior service.
Never disappointed at One North!
As much as i love the ambiance, it remains a "special occasion" destination. Primarily because the prices are exorbitant and the food is pretty good. I prefer the crudos to the seafood special I ordered last time. Also, I requested biodynamic wine for lower sulfate content. Shame on you for not offering any. With an extensive wine list such as yours, perhaps you are missing a growing category of wines. Our waiter was excellent as was the staff, in general.
The maitre d' was kind enough to treat us to desserts which was a nice surprise. However, the dover sole was not up to par and the waiter assured us it was fresh. Common wisdom notes that dover sole is not from dover nor always available everyday, so felt that the waiter should have been more forthright.
Great night and excellent vibe
Very nice this has been our 4 th time here.
Ate at the bar
Good drinks and appetizers
Wanted a little more- could have used a burger
Amazing food, We loved everything we ordered. Had Great service , Beautiful Place
Food is fresh, dishes are a la carte and portions are very small. Cost is through the roof expensive just to pay for atmosphere. There are several long Island Mediterranean Restaurants that offer ambiance, value and excellent food.
Exceptionally prepared food in a sophisticated atmosphere. Quite high-priced, but expertly prepared and served. Everything from the appetizers through the desserts was delicious.
We heard so much about One North that we decided to celebrate our anniversary there. When I first arrived I realized this location was the location Maine Maid Inn. The restaurant was completely renovated in an elegant upscale contemporary design. The space is huge compared to the other Scotto restaurants that I have dined at.
They have an elevated glass enclosed wine cellar that is visible from every part of the restaurant. They also have a few gas fireplaces along with an outdoor patio. I believe this is that largest restaurant I have ever dined at on Long Island.
Their menu has a Mediterranean flair with Italian touch. They have an extensive seafood selection that includes many of your favorite fish. They also provide some of my favorite Greek foods such as grilled octopus and barrel-aged feta cheese.
We started the evening with cocktails and appetizers that were all very good, then we both ordered our entrée’s. My dish the Farroe Islands Salmon was presented cooed perfectly. My partner ordered the African lobster tail which was very good but it was only one tail and the cost of the dish seem to be excessive. Also the escarole side we order was a very small portion.
Other Scotto restaurants that I have dined at did not seem to present small portions of anything that we would have ordered. If one were to peruse through my Yelp dining experiences, one would note that I am not new to fine dining.
Overall, I loved and I am glad that we finally dined at One North. It is quite an unbelievable restaurant. However, I will probably choose this restaurant in the future for business meetings with clients.
The food was very good the restaurant is wonderfully decorated with great taste, the music and service was very good. The menu is a bit pricey the quality and presentation of the food is excellent. Everyone was very friendly and greeted us several times as they walked by our table however our waiter was a bit snotty because we did not order wine. Overall its a great place for a spacial occasion or a birthday celebration.
Chris, Matthew, and Brian where terrific waiters. Everyone was great!
Spectacular. Dinner and a show. Food and Service was flawless and the performers were excellent. Can not wait for the next Greek Night.
Always amazing!!!!!!!great food, great service, great atmosphere and so much fun on Friday night!!!
Great ambience!!!! The staff was great . And that food was amazing. We will go back
Great food. Great service. Large selection of wine. I would definitely recommend
Always consistently great night out. Hosts make us feel so welcome , wait staff doesn’t miss a best , chef is great and accomodating. Our favorite place
Had an 8pm reservation but was made to wait 40 minutes at the bar to be seated, only to find many empty tables available. I understand trying to generate additional revenue by having people wait by the bar but this was just really bad customer service. The food was good as was the wait staff service but the maitre d’ had no clue and left a very bad perception of what looked like a very nice restaurant.
Wow! Scotto Brothers scored a home run again! We visited last Saturday. There were a few large Communion/graduation parties going on but it didn’t affect the stellar service. Food was outstanding, wonderful cocktails and nice wine list; exceptional fish. It’s about time there was a great seafood place. (Although “Mediterranean “ seems to be the in vogue description these days). This is an expensive place...Jericho...Long Island...you know it...! (And the cars in the parking lot prove it.). This is a place to be seen...; you know-you’re typical snooty LI upscale restaurant. (You just have to be prepared to deal with it/and pay for it). Ambiance was Vegas style-this is NOT a remodel of the old Main Maid Inn. Doors out to the patio we’re opened wide...(not that there is much of a view). Great job all around! Loved it. Will be back again (when we can afford it!)
Fantastic upper echelon dining in LI.
This restaurant is very chic, luxurious and very large. The food and service were excellent. The prices are high.
My wife and I were celebrating birthdays and one of us got a $40 premium as a birthday acknowledgment from One North. Frankly neither of us had ever heard of this restaurant so we looked at the reviews. They all seemed to focus on a few areas. First the food was phenomenal; second the noise level was close to oppressive and third, the service was not the best.
We definitely agreed with the first observation. Everything we had was really superb, definitely far above what is generally available on Long Island and comparable to the finest Manhattan eateries.
Second the noise level seems to depend on when you visit One North. Apparently on Friday nights there is a live band after 9PM. We would avoid that like the plague as this is a quite large restaurant and thus to be heard everywhere the band must make a LOT of noise. We visited at the opening on a Saturday and the place was hardly quiet as there were lots of guests and many children. Our waiter suggested that early on any weekday was really quite quiet.
We have to say that our service was exceptional. We had 3 servers--Chris, Matthew and Brian--and they could not have been better informed, more friendly or more available. Chris is new to the restaurant and works only on weekends. During the week he is a special needs teacher and his evident desire to help people made him want us to enjoy our stay. Matthew was very informative about all of the items on the menu and Brian was always there when we seemed to have any needs. We raved about the service.
Overall, One North is not perfect but it is a very very good place to get remarkable food at what we would deem quite reasonable prices for a top of the line restaurant. Could it be a bit quieter, sure and we now know when to go to make our next visit to One North completely ideal.
Place is beautiful
I would like to have more specials
The food was delicious but it was ridiculously overpriced. The portions were okay. My friend got the swordfish which stated broccoli rabe and when she got it we were told it was mixed in the swordfish. Very misleading. This place is better for a drink at the bar and perhaps an appetizer.
Always special, always attentive service, we had a seafood entree with Jumbo langoustine and scallops which was just delicious
