Highly recommended. Amazing staff.

The highlight is the food. Different tastes, unique local ingredients, and fun preparations. As the name Omakase implies, the meal was mix of Japanese and Mexican techniques.

The hallmark of an Omakase meal is that the Chef will select the menu and that you leave full, but not over stuffed, nor hungry. The meal was perfect. I was delighted by each of the 10 course + surprises. I'm eager to return.

Pro tip: Book your meal at Pujol and then book your trip/visit to CDMX.

Taco omakase was amazing -- all the food was delicious and the waiters were very amiable. The service was excellent, one of the waiters took the time to explain all the food and talk about the different types of tortillas (how they were made, the different corns, etc). My only complaint is that the non-alcoholic beverage pairing was two juices that cost the same amount as the wine pairing (and the food) -- this seemed way overpriced.

What can be said about the most incredible dining experience I’ve ever had? Well, that, if I choose brevity. But brevity doesn’t do Pujol justice. We were welcomed with warm, kindness, and care, and in the brief wait before our seating, admired the decor and attentiveness of the staff.

As we were seated, we were asked about any food allergies, and presented with the menu. We were elated to see some dishes that were shown in the Chef’s Table episode on Chef Olvera as included in our omakase reservation. Then, we were asked if we preferred the craft beer, wine, or mezcal pairing. My wife went with wine, but they said hell yea to my inquiry of beer with a couple of mezcals sprinkled throughout.

The service is impeccable, and the staff knowledgeable about everything: sourcing of ingredients for the dishes, techniques, wine/beer/spirits, mixology, and the surrounding area. They were quick and enthusiastic with recommendations of nearby restaurants, mezcalerias, and taco stands...a sign of supreme confidence for a restaurant to value and appreciate food over competition.

The food was incredible. As I stated, best meal of my life. I won’t delve into specific dishes as the menu most likely changes daily, but the king crab sopa, pork belly gordita, enmolada, and “street food” dishes were most profound. That being said, it’d be like choosing your favorite child. Quality, preparation, plating, spacing between courses, and creativity were all top notch.

My wife and I couldn’t believe we scored a reservation, and Pujol surpassed every expectation we could possibly have (minus my fanboy-hope to meet chef Olvera in person, but I digress). 100% will return and recommend. Not to be missed, and should be saved for and savored.

My husband and I attended the omakase taco tasting. The food was excellent. Beautiful presented. Simple ingredient combinations but complex flavors. The food was as expected if not better. The experience, however, was disappointing. The tasting is at the bar which is fine, however, for the price you pay, it is a bit odd the way the bartenders are all working the whole time - making drinks, washing glasses, etc. You can barely get their attention to ask a question. The food is brought out, you get a scripted description, and then the bartenders go back to work. My husband does not speak Spanish and at the beginning they asked which language we preferred. About a third of the way through the dinner, the English speaking server stopped coming over and explaining the dishes and only the Spanish descriptions were provided. Overall, for the significant cost of this experience, the service and setting did not live up to the price. Luckily the food was superb.

What an experience! Every course was perfectly laid out with detailed explanations before the first bite. What a journey through corn found around the country formulated into different shapes and flavors. Some are shaped as a corn puff, in the form of tofu, and some even look like a leaf! I couldn't stop talking about it to everyone I met during the rest of my trip in CDMX and am looking forward to my next trip to for another unforgettable meal

Food was great, taco omakase is an amazing experience. However we were not notified that the pairing menu was not optional and one of us couldn't drink alcohol. We were offered an non alcoholic pairing menu, but no one ever told us it would be charged either way.

Superb from the location and service to the food. It felt like a journey to enjoy the omakase tacos menu. Absolutely loved it. I would have preferred to know that the drinks are separate from the food and costing as much.

The venue is great. Loved the overall experience. But the menu was too fishy! And did not like very much all of the fish tacos. They should include more meat o vegetables. Service is outstanding and loved the wine and sake pairings. The terrace is very cozy and great to make new friends when you go there to eat dessert.

La comida buena sin nada novedoso que era lo que buscábamos mi esposo y yo, el precio excesivamente caro, hace 4 años no íbamos y nos decepcionó, no regresamos y no lo recomendamos. Muy turístico.

Pujol offered a memorable and incredibly special dining experience I’d recommend to all (those lucky enough to be able to afford it). From the design of the space to the thoughtfulness and delight provided by the service all the way and deep into the taste, composition and presentation of the menu you are transported into a sense of absolute indulgence alongside exquisite restraint. (restraint doesn’t mean you aren’t full - you should plan for a nap after dinner for sure!)

I did feel we were hurried through the 10-delicious courses with the next seating in mind and I would have enjoyed it more with greater pauses between at least a few of the courses. For the price you should be able to go at your own pace not that dictated by the business model.

All in all, however, a worthwhile, special and very memorable experience.

Pujol was overhyped for us. We did the Omakase Taco Bar (which is the way to go in my opinion) and we had 10 courses served to us. The experience was fun and the alcohol pairing (especially the mezcal) were delightful. Unfortunately, only about half of the 10 courses had any real flavor. The crab soup was too salty; confirmed by another couple we chatted with after dinner. The empanada lacked flavor in itself and was only decent because of the pico de gallo it was served with. The fish taco was also relatively salty and the only flavors I picked up were the salt and avocado. I personally think Pujol is too expensive for what they offer. Per person the Taco Omakase bar was approximately $180 USD. Perhaps it is because they are in the Polanco area? We won't be back.
