We really enjoyed our meal at Old North State Winery. It was a lovely place to spend our 28th anniversary. The tuna and fried green tomatoes were excellent appetizers, and the spinach salads were so much better than we expected. The creme brulee cheesecake was the piece de resistance!! We look forward to returning!

We love Old North State, food and service always good. Convenient location with public parking close by. We always make a reservation when going to Mount Airy to eat here. You can also eat outside on their deck if you prefer.

Steak was tough, Manager gave us a free dessert for that! Cosmopolitan was awful! Was given a menu and not all items were on that menu, so we were overcharged and had to have the Server remove the wrong amount. Very disappointed!

Hope was our waitress, she did a great job!! The courses were tasty thru desert. It was a bit chilly in the room with an occasional cold blast even though we were in the back. Overall a great night with my wife for Valentines day!! We will be back!

Well where would I start we didn’t realize that you didn’t have the Regular menu as we have eaten here before while in Town. As someone who has had gastric bypass can not eat a lot of food. And digest certain ways foods are cooked. But I feel We should have been warned that the menu wasn’t the normal menu. But we stay anyway and eat dinner since I did reserve a table. The soup was ok . But the asparagus and the potato winter black truffle were hard and was like it had not been cooked. The tart of lobster was misleading as when ordering it I asked the waitress was it lobster tail and she replied yes. The Angus beef tenderloin was supposed to be pink inside not with blood still coming out . Was very disappointed but pretty much a waste of my money and time. As I believe you should had made things clear that the only thing served for the evening was on the pre planned menu before you get to a table that you reserved. I have been pleased in the past with your normal menu . I had actually had booked tonight and tomorrow evening dine in with the restaurant. But canceled tomorrow evening reservations as the same pre planned menu you are serving. No Thank you..

Great food! The Chef definitely has his taste pallet correct! It is not cheap but definitely high quality! We loved the valentines meal this past weekend. Reservations are a must.

Visiting Mt. Airy and happy we chose Old North State for dinner. We made reservations and arrived a few minutes early and we were seated right away. Had the fried green tomatoes app which was very good. I ordered the crab cakes and hubby had the NY Strip. Both were excellent- his steak was cooked perfectly. Drinks were yummy the bread pudding for desert was delicious. Wait staff was great!

I had the special of the day; blackened catfish. I ordered it without the bread as it came as a sandwich. It was outstanding! Cooked and seasoned perfectly! Their Bare Bones Chardonnay was an excellent compliment to my meal.

This is our fourth or fifth meal over the last few years. The experience and the food have remained well above average . The prices are well below what you would expect for the quality of the food and the thoughtfulness of the servers. The distance between tables is ample. You don’t feel crowded. The menu seems to change frequently to interesting dishes you wouldn’t expect . I had a shrimp stir fry with an observation that the rice would have tasted better to me if the rice had actually been fried. It was more like boiled or steamed rice. Overall The dish needed a little more flavor for my palate. My wife had the beef version of the stir fry. It had a very good flavor although the bite I had the beef was tough. My wife enjoyed hers. The other folks at the table enjoyed their dishes with one saying the fried oysters were the best she had eaten., The burger looked great. We did not have desert but a piece of coconut cake looked delicious on the way to a table. Mt Airy is fortunate to have such a quality restaurant. The history of the building brings back good memories because my mother dragged me to Belks as a kid. I’m very happy the building has been preserved.

Nice restaurant. Nice you can make a reservation being Mt Airy can get crowded. Little expensive. Lunch menu was just ok. Would have liked more selection. I just really enjoyed it years ago when you could order at the counter and you had things on display, especially when you had small pies (key lime) and such for sale.
