I really want to like Ognisko but it has disappointed this time. I had Barszcz, which was fine, but my partner said the herrings were terribly oversalted. His bigoz was, he said, really poor, with a lump of potatoes - both presentation and execution were really lacking. So Please, Ognisko, improve!!!
Fantastic place! My grandad was a regular member and there’s brilliant vibes!
Wonderful food in a lovely setting
Authentic food made by lovely people.
A wonderful birthday lunch celebration with the family. Service was excellent, the food was amazing.
It has been the best dining experience we have had in London for a long time.
We arrived for lunch at 2.15 and left, after relaxing with some delicious cocktails in the bar, after 10pm!!
Looking forward to booking another meal very soon. Dzienkujemy bardzo!
Lovely lunch for our daughter’s birthday. Food was good; the setting lovely our waiter was charming.
Good to have some Polish options new to our group.
Visited Ognisko on Friday evening and was simply blown away! The candlelit interior is cosy and food simply unbeatable for the price. A jewel that I'll definitely keep returning to.
Delicious food with excellent pierogi to start. Also a wide range of cocktails in the very comfortable and friendly bar. Always a pleasure to dine there.
Wonderful menu choice with lots of different flavours and food styles. We tried a mix of starters and dumplings etc
Cocktails were inventive and delicious. Great choice of vodkas too.
Very slow service. We were told they were short of staff.
Continues to be the best restaurant in London !
A new favourite. Great service and great choice. Special mention to the pelmeni starter and the proper chicken kiev main.
Ognisko is a real find as it is located perfectly for the museums of South Kensington and offers delicious food in a beautiful setting. The staff are outstandingly professional and made our visit truly special.
Reassuring to be able to eat in outdoor space - heated, and distanced.
First time that we’d tried Polish food and we weren’t disappointed. We ate in the marquee, which was nicely decorated and had heaters. We had a cocktail each to start, some polish bread, pickled cucumbers and beetroot, as an appetiser - all very nice. The starters and main courses were delightful, I had smoked eel to start, followed by cod and risotto- delicious. The service was a little slow, but other than that, a great experience.
One of our favourites and never fail to impress. Always fresh and well seasoned dishes, attentive and fast service, immaculate tableware and clean environment. Elegant and stylish.
We wanted to sit in the terrace, special occasion, but when we arrived they told us that they had a private party in the terrace. We would have like to be informed before. The dining room was nice but extremely noisy, and the atmosphere not as nice at all. The food is fantastic and the service too, though.
I had an absolutely fantastic evening. The food was exceptional (kudos to the chef), service so nice, carrying and attentive. I absolutely love this place and cannot wait for another visit. I have spend recently 2 weeks in Poland but did not manage to find as good Golabki as I had in Ognisko (this were as good as my mum's maybe even better). Thank YOU !
It was an ideal pre-theatrical dinner. We're Russians but absolutely addicted to some Polish origins of our favourite dishes. The Barszcz (borscht) was ideal, evaporating vodka aperitif from our stomachs. The Śledź (herring) was a bit too salty to my taste but came in a proper combination with onion and baby potatoes. The Bigos (just bigos in Russian and English, as I know) raised a wave of nostalgia, as well as a digestive shot of their homemade cranberry flavoured vodka. The service was spotless, the ambience too. Highly recommended!
Food, service and atmosphere excellent in an elegant and cheerful part of town.. (Why on earth does this site require a minimum 50 characters? Brevity is to be encouraged.)
I invited Indian vegetarian friends, and it was awesome
The food was amazing particularly the poached salt beef. The service was very good without being intrusive. Great value for money. Thank you.
The best food in London. Fantastic service as ever and wonderful ambience, unhurried, no distracting background music and beautiful to look at.
Lovely as always food good , service good cocktails amazing , , one of my fav places to eat in London
This is my place to go whenever in London. Very classy and artsy. Nice atmosphere and delicious Polish food. The customer service is delightful and incredibly welcoming.
As usual the service was fantastic and the food delicious- but what really makes a difference is the atmosphere
The staff was lovely! Lunch was delicious and the blinis were perfect!
Amazing food. Amazing Service. This is a no-brainer. Visit this restaurant, you won't be disappointed!
Always a pleasure to come back to Ognisko - especially after so long due to the varying types of covid detention.
Food was delicious and plentiful, prices moderate and service friendly and attentive. The surroundings always bring on feelings of being a bit player in some novel by Tolstoy (or Polish equivalent) and the quince vodka remains divine. Seem to remember the main room chandelier being more crystal ornate than the candle version hanging there now..but memory can play tricks.
All in all a special place very well run - and thanks again.
Book a table here after seeing the beautiful images of the restaurant online. I have to say my friend and I weren't disappointed. The staff were amazing, the restaurant was so elegant and warm, and the food was of high quality. It was a bit pricey, however I would definitely go again for a special occasion.
The most wonderful discovery! This restaurant is in a beautiful building and is perfectly located if you are visiting the V&A as we were. We were seated in a lovely marquee at the back, looking over gardens. Service and ambience were excellent and the lunch deal (2 courses for £18) which we had was delicious - a good choice and all beautifully presented and very tasty.
We will definitely be back!
Lovely choice of east European flavours - blinis, pirogi, duck, smoked salmon etc and excellent eclectic selection of cocktails. Pleasant dining room with terrace option overlooking green square. Food v good, service v pleasant if a little slow at times. Have been several times - v handy for the Albert Hall - and will definitely return.
Thoroughly enjoyable fourth visit to Ognisko. Intersting menu, excellent food and service. One observation. When on the way to a 7.30pm concert at the Albert Hall, it would be nice to sit down at 5pm and have time for dessert.
The food was very slow to arrive (over an hour after ordering), due to an error in the kitchen. However when it did arrive it was delicious and the management deducted the value of our starters from final bill.
Nice variety of dishes available, some traditional Polish but not all. An elegant but relaxed ambience. Dress smartly if you want to fit in. Vodka-based hand sanitiser was both hilarious and a master stroke!
Friendly, knowledgable and courteous staff, great atmosphere. Really interesting menu. Loved it
25th anniversary meal - superb. Lovely food and ambiance. Staff very helpful and pleasant! Made for a lovely occasion!
Fantastic Polish food as always, never disappoints.
The food and serving were nice however it was way too noisy, so noisy in fact that we decided to stay outside (even though the temperatures were not that high). Also, the portions could be a bit bigger. All in all, a solid 3 out of 5!
