First time eating there and were impressed by the excellent and varied cuisine. The service was impeccable. Can’t wait to return. It was worth every dollar!
Have been to Oceanaire several times before and had great service and food. This time the service was very poor. The waitress served two of the four appetizers and then we waited 20 minutes for the other two. The main courses were poor and dessert tasted like frozen cakes just defrosted. When asked for the wine book we were told they no longer have it. Yet when we spoke to the maitre’d he informed us that they did have it and should have been brought to the table. All in all it was a dismal experience
This was an extremely disappointing visit. We had reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered our drinks and they were served promptly but after that it was all downhill. We had to ask for our bread and crudités platter. It was brought after my salad that was supposed to be a chopped green salad and turned out to be lettuce with a couple of tomatoes with barely any dressing for $12.00. The entree was served and my scallops were cold and no butter for the lobster. Also, we had to ask for a spoon for the mashed potatoes that is served family style. We could never find our waiter throughout the meal. It was a very unpleasant meal.
It was our first time at this restaurant and we really enjoyed it. Food was delicious and fresh. Service was quick and our Waiter was very hospitable. Ambiance was nice and every table was properly social distanced along with the strict mask policy. Will be back soon.
We always enjoy this Oceanaire Seafood Room. The Bar area is welcoming for dining as well as a stop for a quick bite and a drink. Their seafood selections are always fresh and excellent. Oceanaire often offers a three course prefix menu or a "in-season" special that is amazing. We love the muted blue table lights that make you feel as if you are dining on the sea.
1. steak was overcooked
2. salmon did not taste fresh
3. Service was very slow. We waited 30 minutes to settle or bill
4. up charge for bread!!! (use to be free)
Very odd- Women’s bathroom had no soap and only one out of 3 stalls had toilet paper. Clearly not maintained.
The service was mediocre. For being an upscale restaurant I am surprised at our food taking ~45 minutes to come to our table.
Honestly we have eaten here many many times and loved it. This was our first date night since indoor dining opened and we regret going here. I don’t think we will be back.
The actual food was good. It was just the service felt off, food took forever, Women’s bathroom grossed me out, and I was less than impressed this time around.
My first indoor meal since Covid, for my mother’s 80th bday. We had an early dinner to avoid any crowds on a Saturday evening. As it turns out, there was only one other group in the dining room to the right. We had our usual excellent meal of oysters, chowder and seafood salad. The mixed grill entree was delicious, and low carb.
Service was excellent, as usual, and the restaurant looked clean and safe. Can’t wait to go back.
Fabulous, as always. From the managers to the servers and, of course, the incredible fish, makes this our favorite Bergen County restaurant. We will each had the pecan crusted barramundi and it was an excellent selection. Kudos to everyone connected with Oceanaire‼️❣️‼️❣️💕‼️
This was my first time dining at Oceanaire. The ambiance is great for a date night. The oysters were very fresh and tasty, and the cocktail sauce and vinegar were nice compliments. The 6oz filet came to the table rare, to the point where it was almost a purple color. I asked for medium. The waiter agreed it was too rare and brought it back to the kitchen. In the meantime, he asked if we needed anything else, so we ordered another round of drinks. My husband got his drink, but I didn’t get mine. About 10 minutes later, the manager brings the steak back. It’s still undercooked, but I ate it anyway. The manager sees my empty wine glass and asks if the waiter offered me a refill. I said yes I asked for one, but, it never came. After the waiter brought my refill, he decided to completely ignore me for the rest of the meal, only making eye contact and speaking to my husband. This place isn’t cheap but honestly, I’ve gotten better service at a diner. We won’t be going back.
One star was given for food because I didn’t go to dine. They had winter uncorked and the options for the wine was good
It was my husband's birthday. The staff were wonderful! They brought him a baked Alaska dessert aflame and the server wished him a Happy Birthday.
The entire meal was wonderful. Everything tasted great. The only problem is that we ate too much!!! It was so very good!
Our server was excellent as well. No complaints at all. Great meal, great service.
Great food and service. Beautiful atmosphere
My sons birthday dinner. Our server corrine was wonderful. We had a great bottle of wine. The tuna special and halibut special were delicious. Then we shared a baked Alaska. Thanks for a wonderful evening
The Oceaniare Seafood Room was a good seafood restaurant. The portions were quite small for the price. The food presentation was great. The service was excellent.
Food was ok, but not what it should have been for a specialty seafood restaurant. Steaks were ok at best. No streamers?!? Lobster tail was bland and chewy. Scallops were the best part. Have had better lobster bisque at steakhouse. Wait staff tried hard. Nice ambiance.
Always reliable for excellent service and great food
This was a xmas gift from my son. Everything about this establishment was exceptional Starting with the excellent service provided by Corrine our server, down to the food and ambiance.
Can't wait to go back there
We always celebrate birthdays there. Everything was good but a little slow with bar. As much as we like the reliable same menu year after year, some changes might be fun!
We had a 9pm reservations, but we got there 45 minute early. We got seated 5 minutes before 9pm. The ambience is very nice and cozy. It’s a little bit pricey but the food is good.
The host and hostess were very rude, dismissive and didn’t honor our reservation at all. We ended up stalking seats at the bar. Bartenders were excellent and semi-saved our experience.
The food and waiter was outstanding. The only problem was I waited 30 minutes passed my reservation time. The receptionist was not very friendly and completely ignore me and did not try to ease my wait. Then until I forcefully asked to to explain my waiting time he end up realizing I am not happy and start looking at who are ahead of me and gave me answer. The worse receptionist I ever experience
Service staff was very good, new service bartender so the mixed drinks were a bit weak. I opted to go with a classic beverage the 2nd time.
Hostess was beyond rude and tried to deny us entry because we were 10min late for our reservation, mind you this was on Valentine’s Day!!! Luckily they have a great manager who resolved the issue, seated us, and we were served a delightful meal. Love the ambience there as well.
It was a great environment food was amazing the service was great
I didn’t like that we were close to the door with so much traffic but the service was speedy and the food was good. Overall no complaints
Always a great date night.
Pecan crusted Barramundi entree was outstanding
Service is wonderful
Well. It was v day so it was crowded. Table was in a high tragic area. Food is just so over priced Not much food I’m my plates. Happy hour is good value though.
Food was tasty. We were seated right away. Drinks were great. The lamb chop was nice and tender. The Jumbo Shrimp Pasta was amazing. I will definitely be visiting them again.
Meals were good but for this restaurant service was lacking and dessert was disappointing
For the amount of money I paid for my meal, I shouldn’t have to pan across the room and see baseball caps, t-shirts, and sweatpants.
I dont think the meal portions match the price. I ordered the salmon and the piece was super small. The lobster mac and cheese was different
The best customer service. Food is sooo good. Can’t wait to return
The food isn't the only reason this place is great. A fantastic team of individuals all focused on making your experience wonderful.
The professional service from the waitstaff made the otherwise bland food experience tolerable.
For a nice restaurant, there is quite a mix of dress codes, which brought the ambiance down a bit. I assume that comes with the location within a mall. Our server was great, but the busboys are in a coma . One was filling my water glass and dribbled water across my appetizer. Our whole table tried to flag down another for some bread.
Food and drinks were very good.
Great food. Service was very friendly but a bit of a wait for drinks. Expensive.
If you want to have a good time at the bar be careful not to be loo loud. We got told to keep it down like we were in a library or something.
