About this restaurant

The newest addition to the Restaurant Collection at SIMON Roosevelt Field mall, Nomiya — which translates to ‘saloon’ — stands as the area’s first izakaya. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of minimalism, the interior of Nomiya is split between a hickory-accented bar and windowed dining room framed by black granite walls.

Guests can pair their meal with one of the eleven premium bottles of sake listed on the menu, such as the unfiltered, cream-colored Yuki Tora Snow Tiger nigori or bright, effervescent Uka Junmai Daiginjo; or opt for a refreshing cocktail made with soju – the national drink of Korea which is commonly distilled from potato. Also available are housemade sodas flavored with either lychee, yuzu, or mandarin, and imported wine and beer selections.

We had a great time and the food was delicious. Staff was so friendly and informative. Will definitely go back again as I work right across the street. Happy hour was amazing

The lunch box was perfect. The box included miso soup, a California roll, 2 gyozas, an entree choice, white rice, seaweed salad. Tasty and a great value. Service was outstanding. Attentive staff. On another note, one suggestion would be to remove the non-practical slot machine at the entrance. It does not belong in a restaurant with distracting flashing lights. We’ll definitely be back.

Great happy hour deals! Friendly service. A couple of the cocktails were a bit sweet. But still enjoyable. The tuna Tataki was amazing. Short ribs were great. this was my first visit, but I would come back again!
