NoMi used to be one of Chicago's best and elegant; It feels more like a hotel restaurant now as it's been downgraded over the years (not even white linen tablecloths). As a native Chicagoan I watched Park Hyatt replace the old Water Tower Inn and it was always my favorite place to stay when I returned to Chicago and one of the reasons was NoMi and the other was RL across the street. Move over Park Hyatt; Peninsula has overtaken you by a stretch.
I love this restaurant. The value for the quality of food is second to none. I love the ambiance and the waiter was very attentive. We were seated in the windows which provided a great view of N. Michigan Ave. I will be back in the near future.
I was surprised the food and service has always been good in the past and it was lacking this time. Not great. Rooftop is awesome though service slow
NoMI garden was not a good experience. Service was poor, the food was ok, and the portions were really small. Big disappointment.
a nice outdoor spot. informal, not too busy, so nice for a causal date with good food and being on a summer patio!
Excellent, creative cuisine in a cool setting. Definitely upscale. Great waitstaff and attendants.
Food was delish and beautifully presented. Service exceptional.
My favorite place to go because it’s lowkey! Food is good, service is good and the vibe is nice for a small family brunch!
Delicious salad and frose dessert
Will be back with the rest of the family. Thank you for your assistance at every step.
The food was really not worth the location and the price.
Beer and water was not fresh.
Add on chicken of 12$ on a Caesar that costs 13$
Excellent all around!
Our waiter took way too long to greet us. This is my second time at Nomi Kitchen and this is the second time this has happened. I believe that maybe my last time there at Nomi esp since I did a review and heard nothing back from Nomi. Great ambiance, Beautiful scenery.
It was a wonderful dinner. The food was good and presented well. The service was quick and attentive. Yes, we would love to try it sgain,
Service was outstanding, from hostess to server to busser. Food was good and very pretty; but very expensive. A lovely place for a special occasion.
This was a wonderful place for brunch. Our wait staff was very polite and kind. Delicious food, great service.
We went to NoMi for brunch while in Chicago just for a couple of days. The deck was lovely. Everyone enjoyed their food. Think the most loved was the avocado toast with a poached egg. The drinks were great. Though nothing particularly unique, everything was good well with great flavors. Would definitely consider returning if in Chicago again
Fantastic views! Accommodating & excellent service! Excellent food!
I am gluten free and the waiter arranged for me to have eggs Benedict with GF toast. Food was awesome!
A lovely brunch with impeccable ambiance to help take in the city. Our server was phenomenal and we will be back, guaranteed.
Oh NoMi what happened!?!? Worst sushi- food was cold that was supposed to be hot.
Service was very slow and discombobulated
Won’t be back! So sad as this was a favorite
It was great!
When you walk in a restaurant and 90% the the tables are empty, should you have to wait 5 minutes to be seated?
While the Sushi was mediocre, the cost was exorbitant what one would pay for extraordinary Omakase in NYC.
Have had much better sushi in Chicago, half the price, and on prior visits to NOMI.
Great food, horrible service!
The service and view were both spectacular, however the food is very simple and bland for the price. It’s not bad, but for such expensive food I was expecting something more unique.
Good food and good drinks. Awesome views from the deck
NoMI was very good. I was here for lunch and I tried their crab Benedict and was very impressed. The egg was cooked perfectly. Their drink menu contains a number of nice options, I recommend the gNoMI. It was a fun drink and came in a unique glass. I am definitely interested in coming back for dinner some time.
My husband and I had dinner at Nomi for our first night in Chicago. The meal was amazing, the service was exceptional, it was quiet and had great views. We loved our experience there.
Best duck I ever had. Our server Mr Kelly was top notch!!
Excellent atmosphere, great views, varied menu choices. Everyone in our party of six were pleased and satisfied. Our waiter was particularly knowledgeable and friendly.
Me and my wife had a 5 year anniversary. I only asked them to secure us a more secluded table. Instead, we were smacked in the middle of the crowd. Great food, but too small portions and overpriced.
One of the best views in the city. Nice atmosphere and good food. Would go back.
The view by the window of the lake, Water Tower, and Michigan Ave was outstanding. The food and service were outstanding. Couldn't have been happier coming here for our anniversary.
The food was good and the atmosphere was nice but it was very overpriced for what we got.
Some unique dishes. Good wine list. Our waiter, Michael Kelly, was great!
Nomi was quite a disappointing experience. We want here for dinner to celebrate my mother’s birthday. I made the reservation over a month in advance. I requested a table with a view which we got and I also put in as Opentable allows you to that we were celebrating a very big birthday. I called a few days before the reservation to ask about bringing in a cake, if there was a cutting fee or if the restaurant could bring out a dessert for the birthday. They told me they bring out a dessert without an issue as long as it listed in the reservation.
Our waiter was awful. He was non-existent most of the night and hardly said anything. I would expect a much better server for a restaurant like this.
The food was average. Small portions. Overpriced for what you get. There are so many better options in Chicago.
When we finished our dinner they brought out dessert menus. I had to sneak away to ask the hostess to bring out a birthday dessert. They brought out the dessert and instead of it saying happy birthday it said happy anniversary.
Overall a lackluster and disappointing experience for my mother’s birthday. I wouldn’t recommend coming here especially for any sort of special occasion or celebration.
We had looked forward to NOMI as we used to go there for brunch which was always excellent when we visited my Dad.The restaurant has changed. The prices are still expensive, but the ambiance is gone.We felt we were eating in a cafeteria. No table cloths, no more elegance. When we asked why it had changed,we were told that after the recession they made the restaurant “more approachable”.We can understand it,but the prices don’t reflect an approachable restaurant. We have no objection to paying a Chicago price for a great meal, but I expect a special place.I realize that this sounds snobbish, but there are so many great restaurants in Chicago “why not”.The Service was great no complaints. The food was very good, but as I said you can have a great meal at other restaurants that make you feel special.
Food and drinks priced a little high. Not that the food is not good but you can get better tasting elsewhere for similar price. This is my second time at Nomi actually and this time because of the quality of service i was a little disappointed. Just took forever to get drinks and food and it wasnt that busy. On a hot day can be frustrating. Still worth going to if you've never been
Great food and great place for a casual lunch in the bar of upscale dinner. Would recommend
