The food was awesome and service was friendly and quick. We did the tasting menu and had plenty to eat. Everything was delicious, and the oysters and gnocchi were standouts for us.
Took my parents here before a concert at AAMI stadium, food was outstanding and the service was impeccable!

Everything is fantastic and I highly recommend this restaurant. My only gripe however small is that we would have liked a bit more attention from the wait staff when we asked for the bill. Apart from that small issue everything was of the highest standards.

This was a really welcome return visit to Noir. We’ve been several times in the past, but as it was a fine dining restaurant, it wasn’t a drop in sort of place. They have recently moved away from fine dining to more of a bistro feel - and I think it’s a great move. Richmond has needed a good French bistro, and this may just be it. Food was fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable for what we got. Good wine as well. I think if they balance some French classics (steak and chips, maybe throw in some escargots, a duck a l’orange) with some interesting newer French food, they will be onto a winner. We will certainly be back soon.
My wife's fish pie arrived cold in parts and the sides were 5 minutes later than the mains. Dissapointing.
Our dinner was an annual catch up with friends and we had the sharing menu, which we all thought very nice and tasty, probably a bit different to our normal outings and quite expensive, but for a special occasion, wonderful. Food was very good and service excellent. Only complaint would be it was full and very noisy, which made it difficult for elderly people with hearing loss, but this is our problem wherever we go when going to good restaurants.
My partner and I celebrated new years eve at Noir and the service was simply wonderful. Incredible dégustation menu, the chef accommodated my vegetarian diet perfectly to match my omnivore partner. Not only was the food outstanding, the venue created the perfect ambiance for an intimate dining experience and the waiters were very attentive without being intrusive. Worth every penny, I could not recommend highly enough.
The best. Whether you order something reassuring or novel, the outcome is indeed wonderfully unexpected.

A lovely take on contemporary French with local ingredients. Obviously they take their food seriously with attentive service to match. A small, slightly funky, intimate space. A real Melbourne experience.
Everything about this restaurant ticks all the boxes except the heat. They have 1 largish air-conditioning unit to the back of the restaurant but on a really hot evening it doesn't make it to the front and you melt. Fans to circulate air would help. The temperature in the restaurant ,sadly,ruined our evening.
I had dinner with my business partners there last week...we all agreed … the food was excellent and authentic French cuisine. The duck is a must have and we will definitely go back for more. Service was nothing less than brilliant. Thank you Noir!
Food was very innovative , fresh and great tasting. I thought it was value for money and staff were attentive. We ordered a mixture of starters and entrees and I was a little perplexed by the order they were brought out. The chicken liver profiteroles were really delightful and the steak tartare was delicious, but the spanner crab tortellini was really a stand out. The restaurant became very humid on a 24 degree day with no air con on until a couple of people started fanning themselves. Temperature comfort in a restaurant is a must so this is a detail that should be monitored closely.
I will be back due to food and service. Apart from the temperature, my friend and I really enjoyed our visit. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting. Enjoy Melbourne.
Nice place , not too large and very nice food. The service very efficient, rather than overly friendly, and that's ok. But next to us a group of males celebrating a bit too enthusiastically. It would be nice if people stopped shouting at each other after a drink. Only thing to make this or any restaurant perfect would be round tables, so you can communicate more easily with everyone, even if noisy, but of course it is a space issue, as square tables take up less space. Still, I would very happily go back.
This is a charming restaurant, staff extremely friendly and polite, I am made to feel welcome every visit. the food is fabulous. dared to try French red as I am a usual Australian red consumer. looking forward to visiting again. I booked on-lone via open table no problem at all.

Enjoyed yet another meal at Noir. Whilst the menu features day to day ingredients, the dishes are always delicious and show an amount of respect and flair.
Wine list is also noteworthy and features many Victorian wines.

Seriously Noir is outstanding. My partner and I had the $55 tasting menu.. every dish was outstanding. Such ingenious use of unusual ingredients paired to create a memorable tasting experience. One of the best restaurants in Melbourne.
