Nobu - Crown Perth Ratings and Reviews
Both myself and partner have always enjoyed the Crown food outlets. Nobu staff both front of house and chefs were simply fantastic. The occasion was my partners birthday and the food and service made that day 10/10. To the chefs = totally awesome folks, service staff = could not fault a thing and you really made our day.
This is not a traditional Japanese restaurant more a Japanese style food preparation of multi cultural dished. Quality is excellent and the menu is vast with lots of safe choices if you don't know what to try. We went on a Monday night thinking it would be quiet but the place was full. Not happy about having a service charge already added to the bill and we also give a tip :(.
The food was not of wow quality which was a bit disappointing because we were expecting the best from Nobu. The sashimi was not that fresh and just ok only. Service was a tad disappointing too, it was busy so we had trouble flagging down waiters to pay our bill. From start to the end, none of the wait staff smiled or looked happy to be there. They did their jobs but without any enthusiasm which was disappointing.
Favourite place. We had the $110 degustation. Delicious and beautifully presented. Buzzy vibe. Great catering for gluten free, although I was disappointed when sorbet was presented as the dessert. The waitress was very accommodating. She went back to speak to the chef and very soon a real dessert arrived. Delicious. It was disappointing not to be offered coffee at the end. A bit rushed on a busy Saturday. We will keep coming back here for amazing food.
We were seated next to the window where we had an amazing view of the pool area. We had two waiters looking after us intermittently who were very attentive. They explained the lunch options and gave us an idea of how many dishes we'd need to order. I had the tempura prawn maki roll and California maki roll. My mum ordered seafood and vegetable tendon. There was a mistake with my mum's dish so the chef prepared a fresh dish.We were not charged for that dish and given two desserts free of charge
Really not that impressed. Honestly thought I'd had better quality, flavour of sushi at an all you can eat near Reno airport. Not even being slightly rude about that. Highlight was the pork gyoza however again nothing that I can't produce at home without trying hard.
Desert was overly sweet. Didn't have cohesive flavours. Wrong quantities no balance.
Service was good but given by many different servers. I expect 1 or two at the most. Seated in the entrance thoroughfare under a loud speaker.
My wife and I had dinner at Nobu last night to celebrate our first anniversary, the staff at Nobu were attentive, helpful and eager to make our evening enjoyable and memorable. They even decorated our desert plate celebrating our anniversary!
Nobu delivered a memorable and rewarding experience, and although the prices are not for the feint of heart; you will certainly find value for your money. Their southern American take on traditional japanese cuisine is very noticeable and welcome!
What an amazing night! The food was so impressive and our personal favourites were the pork belly, the prawns in creamy spicy sauce and the perfect finish to our meal was the soba noodles. The service was impeccable, we had a young gentleman named Allan who was so informative and helpful on the dishes and recommendations. The ambience was filled with great energy from the starting traditional Japanese welcome "irashaimase". definitely returning soon.
The Nobu experience was very disappointing. It certainly did not feel 'Japanese'. The music was far too loud and western. The service was poor and in now way expressed the Japanese culture.
The table was jammed up against the wall.
Altogether I would not class this as a dining experience, but rather a few steps up from fast food.
Having been to Japan and experienced their service and food this restaurant was very disappointing. We will not repeat our visit.
