Nobu - Berkeley Street
I was really excited to spend an evening at Nobu, I arrived to my reserved table to be bluntly told ‘it wasn’t ready yet’, we then waited 30 minutes without any instruction on when the table was going to be ready. We then stood and waited by the front, none of the staff told us we could sit at the bar until 25 minutes of standing. Even after asking when the table was going to be ready we got, again, bluntly told ‘you need to go and speak to my colleague’ who had no idea either. Once finally seated, the service again was fairly slow and overall we were disappointed with the lack of care from the staff. I will, unfortunately, not be recommending the restaurant, very disappointed!
Too loud! And the wall behind my table was dirty/scratched. An easy clean up is needed.
Server was terrific!
not recommend for who want to try traditional Japanese food.
From the moment we walked in the check-in girls had a very unwelcoming attitude. We were then made to wait for a table in the bar even though it was almost empty
After ordering drinks the hostess abruptly told us that our table upstairs was ready and that it will have to be given back in time. The food ordering was also a task as the waiter didn’t seem to guide us through the menu and offer much help in ordering. The food was good but the portions were very very small! We were still hungry after having spend almost £100 per person. Come on guys! This isn’t great. The guy who then gave us a table in the bar after dinner was very friendly
I took my boyfriend to celebrate his 40th birthday and he loved the experience and the black cod.
Great service and amazing food, the staff took great care of us
The food was very average. Atmosphere was fine. Not special in any way.
Was cool other than not being allowed to sit in the main dining area, front desk staff was a bit rude but other than that very good service.
Wonderful food but incredibly noisy. We had a table of eight and it was impossible to hear across the table. However, may be a case of old age here!!
There was a mistake on our bill and I called your manager who was very helpful and generous.
Would definitely comeback at a less busy (noisy)time.
Loved my experience I am coming back again and it was what I needed for a birthday celebration
I think that the sushi was not so amazing, the quality of the fish was nice but in my opinion nothing special. Moreover, the chicken teriaky was a bit tasteless.
The service and atmosphere were very nice.
When spending 70£ per person everything nothing else than amazing.
Food was very good, service was exceptional .
I loved every single dish we ordered! Exquisitely cooked and very distinctive flavours (I am Japanese so might be slightly biased!). I usually can't afford a meal like this, hence my lower score on "Value". Service was quick and our waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
It was AMAZING. it was my birthday and it was THER best EVER
Awesome experience. Great food and great place
Awesome food. Good service.
Much more enjoyable at park Lane Nobu, noise was too loud and the service was shocking, at one point we went downstairs to fetch our own drinks, would recommend the park Lane Nobu any day over this one
Hi, i already complained right after the lunch. Toro Tuna not at the level ( I switched with salmon), diet Coca Cola not cold!, and waiter not responsive
The was superb as usual! The ambience needs little improvements.
We had high expectations of Nobu Mayfair, and were prepared to pay a high price for the right experience (food, service, ambiance).
- The check-in process felt like a 3-star hotel.
- Sadly, although the food was delicious, it was not the best I have experienced.
- The waiting staff were clearly incentivised to ‘up-sell’ to higher priced dishes, and it was very difficult to understand what they were saying (combination of foreign staff and high noise level).
- The champagne was not chilled sufficiently, and the wine selection did not feel suitably matched to the menu.
- On the plus side.... the Japanese Pond Martini was delicious and superbly presented.
Don’t think I’ll be coming back to Nobu.
Having eaten at the excellent Park Lane branch I was keen to try the Berkeley Street version. Our experience was even better, with terrific and sensitive service and superlative food. Will go back.
It was perfection at its best 👌🏽
Not good value for money.
Food was mediocre and at those prices bad value for money. Sushi rice was overcooked and lacked flavour. Cocktail - it was hard to detect the presence of any alcohol. I had heard of Nobu and was looking forward to this. It was very underhwleming. Servcie was good.
Adding in a 15% service charge was not noticed until after I had paid otherwise I would have removed it for bad value.
We are very familiar with Nobu restaurants around the world and the one here in London was excellent and the service was great the room was beautiful we had a wonderful dinner with my niece and her husband I had to recommend Obo London
I first ate at Nobu, Park Lane, about 15 years ago and it was a phenomenal dining experience. Seal was sitting on the next table, and the food was incredible. I booked a table as a father's day treat for my husband and we were all excited about our meal. What we got, however, was a huge disappointment. The food is still good, though some dishes (shitake salad, sweet potato tempura) were very ordinary, and everything was ridiculously overpriced. Pan fried scallops with yuzu truffle were tasty, but Nobu are charging £24 for two very small scallops, which is obscene! There's no sense that any attention has been paid to selection of produce other than to do things as cheaply as possible. This extends beyond the food. Mineral water was served IN A PLASTIC BOTTLE on the table, and the handwash in the toilets is the same soap used at my local gym. Service was slow and generally inattentive, and everyone was packed into such tight spaces that I was close to banging elbows with the guy on the next table. We paid £213 for a meal comprising only three main dishes and no drinks beyond the plastic bottle of Fiji, so we should expect at least an element of luxury, but we didn't even get clean toilets. I don't expect to have to put paper over the seat for my six-year-old to sit down on in a restaurant like Nobu.
How times have changed.
Long wait between dishes when compared to previous dinners there.
Second visit and will be the last. Food was just ok - if you order loads of hot food they land up tasting the same with just different dipping sauces. Also found food to be varied and tastier in Roka. As for the setting, it was very noisy and waiters are not proactive.
Amazing experience! To be done at least once in a lifetime (or every time you visit London)! The food was genuine, super tasty and presented with a twist. Staff was very efficient and nice!
As Always everything was perfect and to the requirement
Had a blast. Food was prompt drinks were flowing 😁
The best night ever!
Overall my wife and I were quite pleased. There were a few things though that botherd me. The noise was appaling/ There was this mindless repeating "beat" with no musicality or reason behind it. The result is that everyone speaks loudly to be heard and the decibels increase exponentially. The very worst in any restaurant I've ever been to.
The food itself was spectacular in taste and some of it heavenly. But so overpriced. A small "bite" of King Crag tempura came out at almost £4 each. Wonderful to eat but oh so costly. Likewise the marinated scallop was soooo delicious. Threre was one dish that didn't live up to expectations with overcooked shrimp and one octopus one that was uninspired.
The ambience was not to my liking thanks to the noise, and the pricing was too high to make a return trip for a while. But the service was good, & friendly...but beware: they will recommend the most expensive dishes.
It was a great expérience , beautiful moment and japanese food on top
Lovely Birthday dinner for a friend. He loved the experience!
Apart from the black cod which is always amazing, the remaining dishes were very average. We were sat so close to the next table that it really gave us no privacy. All the furniture and flooring is becoming so old and is in real need of maintenance in this place
Terrible service and charged us for wine we never had. Never going back and we eat out in London all the time. Far better places than this we only visited because it was close to the gallery we were visiting that night. Big thumbs down Nobu you need to up your game
Nobu is my favorite restaurant and again it was great!! Food is absolutely delicious and service very good. Looking forward to going back!
The whiskey cappuccino is my favorite dessert !!
Gorgeous food in a lovely environment. My only complaint was that we weren’t given any time between courses which made us feel that we were being rushed. Otherwise lovely.
