Nobu - Berkeley Street
Nobu is very delicious, while it is expensive....I would say that it is a nice spot for a special occasion.
Service is fine but food quality needs to improve.
Great visit. Excellent service.
The food was amazing
Birthday for 2 of us
Food taste was fantastic ..service was perfect and atmosphere are excellent.
Amazing waitress, great recommendations for foods. Superb service, quick and very friendly. Definitely will return.
Food was great, especially miso cod and garlic octopus. Unfortunately the much beloved (by our kids) garlicky broccoli isn‘t on the menu :-( steamed stembroccoli not the same.
Tables are very sticky, yuck! Sevice excellent, friendly and proficient. Noise level an prices very high.
Nobu simply isn’t as good as it used to be. Food, ambience and service is average and the cost is eye watering, with a 15% “discretionary” service charge on top.
5 of us had lunch to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was freezing so the girls were so cold we had To have Green Tea (mine was so bitter I requested another). The waitress was so intent on impressing upon us her knowledge of the menu that she challenged practically every dish we ordered.
Several of our orders were wrong, not enough for 5 despite our making a specific request. The Tempura was under cooked and had no salt in the batter, horrible! The manager removed these from the bill. Sushi was excellent as was the black cod. We requested a second Squid dish that never arrived but we were billed for.
The £575 bill (one glass of Champagne and a flask of Saki) was ridiculous for what we had (my 10 year old daughter had Maki rolls and some cod). I used my “discretion” when it came to the service charge!
Very disappointing, terrible value, average food and mediocre service and ambience. If you want it done properly then you can’t beat Zuma, I won’t make the same mistake again!
I could not visit the restaurant cause nobody wrote in the policy that bermuda are not allowed!!
The waiter that took the order brought us something I did not understood then I had to pay..
We wanted to stay more but the waitress service we were under control every minute by serving water so to finish the bottle quickly!!
This is the 3rd Nobu that I have visited. My overriding criticism is that the restaurants are very noisy. Perhaps they should change the decor to include sound deadening materials. The food was excellent, as always. The service was very good and we had a great evening out. If I had to choose I prefer this venue to the one at the Metropolitan Hotel.
Great food - really good ambiance. Attentive staff - in fact when I spilled something on my top they were very quick to help out with a solution. (Above and beyond I’d say) the white fish sashimi was excellent. Highly recommended.
I was really excited to spend an evening at Nobu, I arrived to my reserved table to be bluntly told ‘it wasn’t ready yet’, we then waited 30 minutes without any instruction on when the table was going to be ready. We then stood and waited by the front, none of the staff told us we could sit at the bar until 25 minutes of standing. Even after asking when the table was going to be ready we got, again, bluntly told ‘you need to go and speak to my colleague’ who had no idea either. Once finally seated, the service again was fairly slow and overall we were disappointed with the lack of care from the staff. I will, unfortunately, not be recommending the restaurant, very disappointed!
Too loud! And the wall behind my table was dirty/scratched. An easy clean up is needed.
Server was terrific!
not recommend for who want to try traditional Japanese food.
Fantastic place with very good food. It was very interesting to see the sushi chef during his work.
From the moment we walked in the check-in girls had a very unwelcoming attitude. We were then made to wait for a table in the bar even though it was almost empty
After ordering drinks the hostess abruptly told us that our table upstairs was ready and that it will have to be given back in time. The food ordering was also a task as the waiter didn’t seem to guide us through the menu and offer much help in ordering. The food was good but the portions were very very small! We were still hungry after having spend almost £100 per person. Come on guys! This isn’t great. The guy who then gave us a table in the bar after dinner was very friendly
I took my boyfriend to celebrate his 40th birthday and he loved the experience and the black cod.
Great service and amazing food, the staff took great care of us
The food was very average. Atmosphere was fine. Not special in any way.
Was cool other than not being allowed to sit in the main dining area, front desk staff was a bit rude but other than that very good service.
Wonderful food but incredibly noisy. We had a table of eight and it was impossible to hear across the table. However, may be a case of old age here!!
There was a mistake on our bill and I called your manager who was very helpful and generous.
Would definitely comeback at a less busy (noisy)time.
Loved my experience I am coming back again and it was what I needed for a birthday celebration
I think that the sushi was not so amazing, the quality of the fish was nice but in my opinion nothing special. Moreover, the chicken teriaky was a bit tasteless.
The service and atmosphere were very nice.
When spending 70£ per person everything nothing else than amazing.
Food was very good, service was exceptional .
I loved every single dish we ordered! Exquisitely cooked and very distinctive flavours (I am Japanese so might be slightly biased!). I usually can't afford a meal like this, hence my lower score on "Value". Service was quick and our waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed.
It was AMAZING. it was my birthday and it was THER best EVER
Awesome experience. Great food and great place
Awesome food. Good service.
Much more enjoyable at park Lane Nobu, noise was too loud and the service was shocking, at one point we went downstairs to fetch our own drinks, would recommend the park Lane Nobu any day over this one
Hi, i already complained right after the lunch. Toro Tuna not at the level ( I switched with salmon), diet Coca Cola not cold!, and waiter not responsive
The was superb as usual! The ambience needs little improvements.
We had high expectations of Nobu Mayfair, and were prepared to pay a high price for the right experience (food, service, ambiance).
- The check-in process felt like a 3-star hotel.
- Sadly, although the food was delicious, it was not the best I have experienced.
- The waiting staff were clearly incentivised to ‘up-sell’ to higher priced dishes, and it was very difficult to understand what they were saying (combination of foreign staff and high noise level).
- The champagne was not chilled sufficiently, and the wine selection did not feel suitably matched to the menu.
- On the plus side.... the Japanese Pond Martini was delicious and superbly presented.
Don’t think I’ll be coming back to Nobu.
Having eaten at the excellent Park Lane branch I was keen to try the Berkeley Street version. Our experience was even better, with terrific and sensitive service and superlative food. Will go back.
It was perfection at its best 👌🏽
Not good value for money.
Food was mediocre and at those prices bad value for money. Sushi rice was overcooked and lacked flavour. Cocktail - it was hard to detect the presence of any alcohol. I had heard of Nobu and was looking forward to this. It was very underhwleming. Servcie was good.
Adding in a 15% service charge was not noticed until after I had paid otherwise I would have removed it for bad value.
We are very familiar with Nobu restaurants around the world and the one here in London was excellent and the service was great the room was beautiful we had a wonderful dinner with my niece and her husband I had to recommend Obo London
I first ate at Nobu, Park Lane, about 15 years ago and it was a phenomenal dining experience. Seal was sitting on the next table, and the food was incredible. I booked a table as a father's day treat for my husband and we were all excited about our meal. What we got, however, was a huge disappointment. The food is still good, though some dishes (shitake salad, sweet potato tempura) were very ordinary, and everything was ridiculously overpriced. Pan fried scallops with yuzu truffle were tasty, but Nobu are charging £24 for two very small scallops, which is obscene! There's no sense that any attention has been paid to selection of produce other than to do things as cheaply as possible. This extends beyond the food. Mineral water was served IN A PLASTIC BOTTLE on the table, and the handwash in the toilets is the same soap used at my local gym. Service was slow and generally inattentive, and everyone was packed into such tight spaces that I was close to banging elbows with the guy on the next table. We paid £213 for a meal comprising only three main dishes and no drinks beyond the plastic bottle of Fiji, so we should expect at least an element of luxury, but we didn't even get clean toilets. I don't expect to have to put paper over the seat for my six-year-old to sit down on in a restaurant like Nobu.
How times have changed.
Long wait between dishes when compared to previous dinners there.
