Italian
The Tregambe family have been making wine for generations in Italy and it is their age-old wine making techniques that head winemaker John Tregambe employs at Nillumbik Estate. Throughout the year, John readily delights visitors with barrel tastings of new vintages or a tour of the pristine vineyard. The large deck at the cellar door offers breathtaking views of the Kinglake Ranges; ready to be soaked up with a glass of fine wine and a rustic meal including gourmet pizza's topped with fresh local ingredients and delicious Mediterranean style tasting platters.

Simply wonderful! The pizza is delicious and the service was lovely. We were there on a beautiful sunny day so sitting on the deck overlooking the vineyard was magical.

I would recommend but the waitress we had was so rude and couldn't be bothered, we were served very dirty glasses. While the manager was nice to help resolve it. The wine is delicious and so was the food. They just need to be friendly and have clean dishwasher.

While the food and location were great, we were disappointed that all tables on the deck were literally one long table separated into sections. This meant half the diners faced the vineyards and half faced the cafe. As we were a table for two we could hardly hear ourselves talk because of the close proximity to the tables on either side of us.

This was a shame because last time we visited (before the extensions) we had both sat side-on to the vineyard and the other tables were staggered around the deck, providing some privacy for each table.

We might come back but definitely NOT on a weekend. For me, with my back to the vineyard, struggling to hear my friend above the noise it was anything but a lovely birthday lunch. : -(

Just a rippingly great local place..Great food. Compact menu and great service. This is how all winerys should be. Clam relaxed and friendly. John, Cham, and family have got this place 100% right. Always a pleasure going there overlooking the vines down the valley. Relax with one of the excellent wine , beer or cider options and you have a great all round experience. My only regret is that I cannot go there more often When we have visitors we always bring them to this winery. Never fails to please.

Great wine, atmosphere, service and food. I highly recommend anyone visiting the Nillumbik area to go check out this winery. The Shiraz and Chardonnay are 10 out of 10

We had lunch on a weekday so the restaurant was very quiet, I would love to try at the weekend when there is more atmosphere. The view is lovely and on a warm day it would be nice to sit outside.
We only shared a tasting board of meat and cheese. It was nice enough but would of preferred more artisan breads rather than slices of bread. We didn't eat the pizza although what we saw from others eating them they looked delicious.
Was also disappointed they where out of Sav Blanc, which always puzzles me when I visit a winery and they have run out.

Such a beautiful place to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon. The views towards Kinglake are superb. There is an outside deck which is a lovely place to sit on a sunny day. It would be fabulous for a function.
5 stars!

A great outing on a cold winter day. Lovely scenic outlook from warm, cosy, and comfortable indoors.
Great pizzas, good service and fine pinot at an affordable price.

We visited for lunch on Saturday. Whilst the food was good it was disappointing that even though we had spent $96 on lunch and a bottle of wine, we weren't permitted to taste the premium wine which was $5 per tasting. Surely after buying lunch and a bottle of wine a 15ml tasting would not break your bank! A bit stingy if you ask me!!

Love visiting Nillumbik Estate. It s a great casual catchup with friends and family, with beautiful pizzas and fantastic wine. Views fabulous regardless of weather. Spotted a pair of wedge tail eagles riding the wind currents last Saturday while enjoying lunch. Staff lovely!

While the pizza toppings were nice the pizza bases were clearly from frozen. I was expecting stone baked pizzas. Although the menu does not state this it would be great if they can improve their pizza bases and make them "gourmet pizza's". Apart from that, the wine was great and we had a really nice time at Nillumbik Estate. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and talking with the owner about the wine.

With such a beautiful backdrop looking over the manicured vines, it is hard not to sit back and relax. The wines are excellent and I especially enjoy the option of a wooded or non wooded chardonnay. An amazing array of pizzas covers all tastes and there are even ones available for those who have a sweet tooth. Wine tasting is offered and the staff seem intent on making your visit enjoyable. Overall a wonderful way to pass a few lazy hours on a weekend.

The estate is run and managed by an excellent group of people who are customer centric, informed and take the time to acknowledge and respond to their customers. The staff are helpful and happy to be in the service of the customers. The added benefit of Nillumbik his the wonderful view and a nice drop of wine.

All Nillumbik Estate's wines are outstanding. It is well worth doing a tasting. The menu is limited to freshly made gourmet pizzas but they are soooo yummy. My favourite is the mushroom, taleggio cheese and truffle oil. To DIE for!!! The kitchen is very accommodating regarding any food intolerances and allergies. One of my favourite places!!!
