Nillumbik Estate is one of my happy places - very relaxed, great views, homely feel, welcoming, just beautiful. Oh and the wine and food - perfect!
We had lunch on a weekday so the restaurant was very quiet, I would love to try at the weekend when there is more atmosphere. The view is lovely and on a warm day it would be nice to sit outside.
We only shared a tasting board of meat and cheese. It was nice enough but would of preferred more artisan breads rather than slices of bread. We didn't eat the pizza although what we saw from others eating them they looked delicious.
Was also disappointed they where out of Sav Blanc, which always puzzles me when I visit a winery and they have run out.
Such a beautiful place to spend a quiet Sunday afternoon. The views towards Kinglake are superb. There is an outside deck which is a lovely place to sit on a sunny day. It would be fabulous for a function.
A great outing on a cold winter day. Lovely scenic outlook from warm, cosy, and comfortable indoors.
Great pizzas, good service and fine pinot at an affordable price.
We visited for lunch on Saturday. Whilst the food was good it was disappointing that even though we had spent $96 on lunch and a bottle of wine, we weren't permitted to taste the premium wine which was $5 per tasting. Surely after buying lunch and a bottle of wine a 15ml tasting would not break your bank! A bit stingy if you ask me!!
Had a lovely afternoon lunch. Not overly kid friendly but a great view if you get a seat on the deck on a sunny day. Will definitley visit again.
Love visiting Nillumbik Estate. It s a great casual catchup with friends and family, with beautiful pizzas and fantastic wine. Views fabulous regardless of weather. Spotted a pair of wedge tail eagles riding the wind currents last Saturday while enjoying lunch. Staff lovely!
While the pizza toppings were nice the pizza bases were clearly from frozen. I was expecting stone baked pizzas. Although the menu does not state this it would be great if they can improve their pizza bases and make them "gourmet pizza's". Apart from that, the wine was great and we had a really nice time at Nillumbik Estate. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and talking with the owner about the wine.
With such a beautiful backdrop looking over the manicured vines, it is hard not to sit back and relax. The wines are excellent and I especially enjoy the option of a wooded or non wooded chardonnay. An amazing array of pizzas covers all tastes and there are even ones available for those who have a sweet tooth. Wine tasting is offered and the staff seem intent on making your visit enjoyable. Overall a wonderful way to pass a few lazy hours on a weekend.
Always enjoy coming to Nillumbik Estate. Food and wine are fantastic
The estate is run and managed by an excellent group of people who are customer centric, informed and take the time to acknowledge and respond to their customers. The staff are helpful and happy to be in the service of the customers. The added benefit of Nillumbik his the wonderful view and a nice drop of wine.
I’ve been to Nillumbik Estate numerous times but I didn’t think the pizza was as good this time. Salad was great. Wine good as usual but great place snd fantastic view
Love going to Nillumbik Estate. Great pizzas, beautiful wine. Caters easily for ceoliacs with gluten free bases. Beautiful panoramic views to the ranges.
Great place t go fantastic views can hear what people are saying the noise level is great. Limited Menu
but food was exceptionally good staff very friendly
Beautiful setting, friendly staff, great food, all around it was a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be back!! Thank you.
What a special part of the world! A beautiful relaxing lunch on the terrace was superb. Wonderful happy service with delicious pizzas & wine. Had a lovely wander in the vines and the kids loved it. Perfect for all of us. Thank you, 💛🍕🍷
Great wine. Simple food. Love they cater for gluten free. Beautiful views.
Fantastic wine, service and food. Great spot for the afternoon.
John and Cham have created an amazing cellar door experience. The wine particularly is an absolute stand out for anyone who loves really good wine
All Nillumbik Estate's wines are outstanding. It is well worth doing a tasting. The menu is limited to freshly made gourmet pizzas but they are soooo yummy. My favourite is the mushroom, taleggio cheese and truffle oil. To DIE for!!! The kitchen is very accommodating regarding any food intolerances and allergies. One of my favourite places!!!
Beautiful view. Great pizza. Lovely staff. Definitely will go back
Always a reliable choice. Good food, great wine, superb setting and welcoming and friendly staff. What’s not to love about this hidden gem
Perfect location with the most delicious pizza!! Will definitely be back again..
Great food, excellent wine, the views are fantastic, the staff are great.
Great location, good food and the vista is great. Can be busy, so book in.
What a find! The best pizza I’ve had in a long time with great views and a lovely Shiraz. My only suggestion would be for them to have a basic kids menu (there are no options other than an adult size margarita pizza). Great value. Outdoor seating with sensational hilltop views. Definitely a great casual winery lunch find! We’ll be back.
Good Wine, Friendly efficient service, Good food, and fantastic views.
Wonderful service and views across the vineyard towards King Lake bush. Terrific quality red wines and rosé.
Pizza is the main meal offered. Beautiful toppings, however the bases are average. But affordable and overall recommended.
Our lunch at Nillumbik estate was fantastic. The view was amazing and we’ll be back for sure. The food was tasty and reasonably priced.
We brought international guest to sample the amazing wines, service and food.
They were still raving about the experience for days.
Thanks to all the team at Nillumbix Estate.
We always enjoy our trips to eat at Nillumbik Winery, we have been going since it opened and have never been disappointed with the beautiful pizzas and cheese and salami platters and of course the wine.
We have since moved to the other side of the city but still make the journey to Nillumbik although not as regularly as previously.
Always pleasant at this great little winery, staff always very helpful and wine tasting always good. Only criticism pizza bases are not great but toppings are fine , I prefer the tasting plate good variety of cheeses and meats on the antipasto plate. Most importantly there wines are getting better each year.
An excellent venue to celebrate our daughters 17th Birthday with family. Love the food ,views and craft beer. The only suggestion would be to have lattes as a coffee choice!
Great scenery overlooking the vineyards. We sat inside as raining but still overlooked the outside seating deck and the wonderful view through floor to ceiling windows. Food excellent but mainly pizza I had a very delicious lamb gluten free pizza that my husband also shared and enjoyed even though he normally prefers wheat based pizzas. Family owned and run over many years as well as produce own wines. Staff all very friendly and wine tasting was informative and helped decide wine we would have with lunch. We had one of the reds but there were several we liked.
The staff at Nillumbik Winery go out of their way to ensure that you are made to feel relaxed and comfortable. There is no hurry up around the wine tasting table. Cannot recommend this highly enough.
Great Winery lovely wines ,very relaxing on a nice day you can sit out on the balcony also has fabulous views and you can eat outside under the trees lovely setting , food is great ,service you can't fault definitely would recommend
Very stingy and rude with wine tasting. Such a small quantity given by lady co-owner that we could not get a proper taste and the stinginess made us then think poorly of her overall approach to hospitality - food, service and facilities.
Hi Geoff, so sorry you were not satisfied with your tasting experience. Our tastings are complimentary and we try very hard to adhere to our RSA obligations, which limits the amount we can pour. It’s a shame you didn’t ask for a second taste of any of the vintages, because I would have happily complied. Thanks for giving us a go. Regards, Chanmali Tregambe (Owner).
I choose to host my 40th birthday lunch here at Nillumbik Estate after a previous visit with the family and they were able to handle a larger group in the lead up really well and the lunch was seamless.
I would highly recommend a visit - The food and the wine is exceptional.
Fantastic meal, superb wines, outstanding service and sublime views. A winning combination for this family owned & operated winery. We are so lucky to have this 30minutes from our front door!
Great views, excellent food with local ingredients beautiful wines
Relaxing overlooking the vines and mountains.
A top spot , we will be back
