Nido Bar & Pasta
Read a review in the Weekend Australian a short while ago. We were very fortunate to get in on a short booking , which we did easily on-line. The staff who greeted us was very friendly and helpful, indeed he was for our entire experience. We had a little trouble deciphering the menu, but with the waiters help and viewing the meals coming out it was easy. The food was superb, well presented and flavoursome. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very lively, the food was presented in good time, not rushed or slow, and we were made to feel very welcome and there was no pressure to leave , but to relax and enjoy ourselves.
We will certainly return in the near future and have already recommended it as a must go to restaurant.
Food was good but a little too much oil in my pasta dish although my partners food was really good. The music was so loud it was difficult to converse. Service was very good and very prompt. They were flexible with our seating as we did not want to sit at the table originally allocated.
Best meal in a long time, we had whipped ricotta and honey with gnocchi frito. Cacio and Pepe pasta. Steak of the day with potatoes. We will come back soon
Really impressed by Nido's. Food was fantastic. Took a recommendation from the waiter for Entrees and he was spot on. He also recommended a great wine. Went with two friends from interstate and they loved it.
I certainly enjoyed the meal....others in the party not so sure....whipped ricotta and honey delicious as was the gnoccho fritto....that was amazing....lamb with macaroni scrummy.....however too much salt in the food....both my husband and I were out of bed during the night drinking water. Very noisy atmosphere
We had a great night, fantastic service, delicious menu. Will be back!
This was a much anticipated meal out. Maybe our menu choices weren’t great, but we found the dishes we chose to be overly salty (in particular the vongole spaghetti and fish special)
The swimmer crab starter was amazing though - the highlight of the meal.
Wine list was also great.
Fantastic local restaurant with lots of charisma. Beautiful food. And the loveliest staff .
Amazing food and charismatic service. Will most definitely return
An outstanding dinner with the most delicious Italian food EVER.
Fabulous staff too who were so happy, helpful, and entertaining.
The whole evening was a wonderful experience
Loud and cramped, unable to get out of seat without moving table. Stuck between a tradies backside and a nurse talking about the death of her patient. Food overpriced and serve small. Could not hold a conversation for the noise levels. Never again
Awesome night Food 💯 staff we’re polite knowledgeable and efficient Great menu and good wine list Definitely coming back
We have brought a number of people to dine with us in the last few months. While for them it has been lovely, the "feed me" option has had no changes and we were rather bored eating the same meal options again
The wine list was pretentious and obscure. We live in the best wine state in Australia and no South Australian wines were available. Instead only over priced imports were on offer. We did not stay once we saw the wine list and the less than impressive menu.
Packed in like sardines
Too noisy - 2 or 3 fold
Too much chilli
Pasta texture was good but over flavoured
Anything but a pleasant experience
The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. You cannot miss the whipped ricotta with gnocco fritto - authentic and delicious.
The service was attentive and the vibe was awesome - cozy and comfortable.
This is the third time that I have been to Nido and have enjoyed the food on every occasion. My only issue is with the service, which has been disappointing. Having to wait for menus and water, having to ask to have orders taken, extra drinks, bill etc. and receiving attitude for doing so. A little frustrating for such a great food experience.
Service flamboyant and glib.
Food over salted and boring
Lovely food and great service!
We had an amazing evening at Nido. We did the Tasting menu, and were sitting at the kitchen counter so we enjoyed the lovely company of the chefs. The floor staff was so kind and smiley as well, made us spend a wonderful evening! Not to speak of the food, which was splendid...
Great food. We got the chef's menu X 4.
Felt that the pasta and mains were a bit light on for a $400+ meal.
Buzzing place with great music, attentive service and yummy food. It’s a real treat!
Great atmosphere, absolutely delicious meal, friendly, helpful and enthusiastic staff. Highly recommend.
Was looking forward to this after hearing good word of mouth reviews. The food was very good. Amongst all our selections (4 of us) there was really only one disappointment - the tortelli in brodo just not very generous or flavoursome. Standouts were the fish crudo and the sirloin with anchovy butter, although @ $39 it comes with nothing making it almost obligatory to order a side. So on the basis of the food, I would recommend Nido. On the basis of the wine selections & prices, not so sure. We had two bottles @ $70 & $65 (nothing much cheaper). Photo-scanning the $65 bottle showed it available at an average bottle price of $20... I accept markups are usually 100% but that’s too much. It’s also easily possible to source good quality wines and, even with a markup, list them around $50.
The service was outstanding.
Disappointing after build up through the media. Very close seating embarrassing to hear adjacent Diners talking. Choice of Main courses were limited if you did not want Steak or Osso Bucco.. so pasta had to be our choices. The ravioli was tough because of under cooking. I have not recommended to anyone.
Having dined in a few restaurants in Adelaide on a week’s visit, Nido was one of 2 I would recommend to friends and family. The food and service was impeccable, the wine list not extensive but the staff recommendation was quite positive and the music based on vinyl records was conducive to light conversation.
Experience lived up to John Lethlean's review in Hot 50 W/E Australian magazine. will return...
Got a pasta dish I hadn’t ordered. Waitress offered to have it changed but I didn’t think it was necessary- quite nice in fact!
I went with Nido with friends Saturday night. The place was packed even with all the road disruptions on King William Road. Service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating as I had a friend with dietary requirements. Sitting at the bar was great because we could see the chefs at work and got a preview of the delicious food coming out of the kitchen. The chefs were friendly and interacted with us, explaining the dishes and answering our questions. The food was AMAZING! So tasty and delicious. I will definitely be returning!
Lovely ambience but felt the food portions were too small, more like entree sizes so don't go there hungry!
Great service, charming efficient staff, food was average, heavy too much oil cheese straight out of the refrigerator, menu needs some work, not enough description of the ingredients, cooking style etc
Food is amazing but the wait staff are very condescending. Patrons really don’t need to be corrected on their Italian pronunciations.
Also we were given our bill without asking for it. We were not asked if we wanted another drink.
We wanted coffee but only full strength milk available.
Great food and wine
Asked for seats with backs and were seated at stools , other than that loved it and
A beautiful spot for a Saturday lunch. Great food, cocktails and service. If we lived in Adelaide, we’d be there every week. Thank you!
We can recommend the tasting menu - well worth it for letting us experience dishes we wouldn’t usually have chosen but which we really enjoyed. The service was top notch: personable yet unobtrusive, and timely. It’s busy and very noisy, but the quality of the meal explains why. We will happily return. Good to see a restaurant that describes each dish in sentences rather than simply listing ingredients.
Had a wonderful experience, highly recomennd being looked after by Tess and also having the whipped ricotta and the gnocchi!!
The waiter greeted us as we entered. He was very cheery and was prompt in his service and our requirements.
The food was very tasty but we found the prices expensive and the the food was"nouveau cuisine meaning not much of it. We had to search the menu to find something to enjoy but when we achieved that, it was good. Entree size at expensive main course prices
The wine lists limiting and the prices outrageous. A bottle of shiraz (one only choice) @68 was a joke.
I know that the "Weekend Australian" had the restaurant as one of Australia's best so I was disappointed.
Thank you for the experience but one of our group remarked that this restaurant may only have a short life!
Simply Outstanding. A great experience on a cold winter's day. You can see why Nido is in Australia's top 50 restaurants.
Fantastic dining - food , service and vibe of the restaurant . Thankyou .
Great friendly service, delicious fresh food, cool decor but a bit cramped, and a bit over-priced.
