Nido Bar & Pasta
We were not aware there was no BYO. We happily put out bottle away but we were disappointed at the lack lustre wine list, so we stuck to water. Entree was nice as was the pork ragu and the parpadella. However the gnocchi was heavy on the citrus flavour and the size of the serve was very small. I had heard so many good reviews about Nido and ended up being disappointed.
With that said, I will give it another go.
Our luncheon at Nido was lovely as usual
Beautiful food and a warm welcome
Will definitely be returning
Amazing service and the food was fantastic. We will Definitely return
Great food, but too noisy for conversation. Wine list could be more extensive but good wines on the list.
Loved it and will definitely be back again. The 'rootello bonnato' was delicious and the pasta dishes we tried we great as well.
We had a most enjoyable night.
Extremely good staff, friendly, informative makes for a great night.
The food was delish, fabulous. All dishes we chose were amazing. Well done, we will be back.
Nido is a lovely restaurant with beautiful and interesting food, but what made it an exceptional experience was Laura, the person who served us.
She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive throughout.
Great food and service. Lovely outside bit noisy inside but overall great.
We are regular NIDO goers and we love the place and look forward to our next visit
Very expensive for rather average food. Two pasta dishes were very salty / over seaoned therefore not enjoyable. One pasta dish was undercooked not al dente and the $35 lamb chop was tasty but a ridiculous price. Average wines were quite expensive per bottle.
The cloud bread and ricotta and honey would make a great dessert not starter.
Great music and attentive wait staff.
We wouldn't bother to go again as there are many other consistently delicious and reasonably priced eateries in this space.
Lovely little Italian restaurant, bern before and loved it but this time service was slow was and the ambiance was spoilt by loud music so much do it was difficult to hear each other speak .
Maybe we struck a busy time but 30 plus minutes to order a drink is too long .
The pasta was superb as usual but the lamb a little disappointed this time .
I had high expectations which didn't deliver. The service was the biggest let down of the night. We had to ask for each drink, ask to order, ask to see the dessert menu after finishing our mains 30mins earlier. Then to be told "I'm pretty sure were all done let me just ask". He told us we could order dessert but the coffee machine was cleaned. We decided to leave.
The food was ok but both our pasta dishes had far too much cheese on them.
The salt and vinegar potatoes are to die for though. You have to try them.
Overall an ok experience but can't recommended it.
Good food, good service, nice ambiance. Delicious kangaroo, highlight of the meal!
Food was very good EXCEPT pasta which was undercooked.
Our weekly refuge...
A lovely experience. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and the food and wine very enjoyable. The seating on the street is also nice.
Went there for a special occasion but was unable to open my own wine. Nothing on Nino's wine list came close to my 2007 Rockford Basket Press so opted not to order a bottle from them. Would have paid reasonable corkage - Big cross.
At least three menu items that I wanted to order were not available, again Big cross.
Waitress friendly, attentive and did her very best to compensate for lack of choice - particularly the entrees - Big tick.
It's a small room and I found diners noise seemed to be competing with the amplified music as to which would be loudest - uncomfortable for me but others may like that atmosphere.
Overall just OK , no hurry to go back.
We had a lovely dining experience with great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. We will be back.
the staff were so extremely friendly and made our lunch really enjoyable. The food was incredible! Some of the nicest pasta i've ever eaten. Will be a regular spot for dining now. Thank you
Just brilliant on all levels
Loved every minute and every bite! A great place to spend a lazy Sunday lunch with friends!
Always enjoy Nido. Beautiful food and staff equipped with the knowledge to explain and recommend.
Excellent tasty food with the best pasta in Adelaide! The Rootella Bonnato is a great interpretation and complemented with great service who remember everything! I would recommend it to anyone!
Lovely meal on a busy Saturday night! The whipped ricotta with the fried bread is a must!
Nice venue, great pasta! Joshua was a very knowledgeable and friendly waiter. Will be back!
having attentive wait staff is great, but this was intrusive and clearly about getting customers in and out quickly. After the 5th time staff had asked if we’re ready to order (we had already ordered drinks) we told staff we’d let them know when we were ready to order and there was sarcasm when we did “oh you might have to wait now, not sure the kitchen staff are ready for your order” etc. We also asked to move from bar seating to chairs (which I did actually book on line) and told we may be able to move but wouldn’t have the table for long. I did add a comment when booking about extending the time we could have the table. Where is the time to enjoy your meal and socialise? Isn’t this why people go out for dinner? If I wanted fast food I’d have gone to MacDonalds. Given what we spent, we would have appreciated the time to relax and eat without feeling like we were in the way. When we did leave, it was apparent that staff could have accommodated our request to sit at a standard table with chairs instead of uncomfortable bar stools. Is it really that hard to get it right?
Sat at the counter looking over the chefs doing their thing. The food was sensational as were the Chefs. Will be returning in a hurry
Early meal but good wine advice and very efficient, quick and friendly service
Delicious food. The hot bread starter with the kangaroo entre a highlight. Pastas always consistently good.
Wine list not the norm- worried at first, but very good recommendation from our waitress. The appetiser were up there with the best we have ever had. The pasta I was a tad disappointed in, but I would go back tomorrow. Keep going with what you are doing. If I have an issue, the music was a little loud, but we are 65 and 70 year olds, so maybe i is us.
Fantastic menu. Amazing service. Unfortunately let down by a very average wine list. Given how amazing and in-close-proximity SA wine is, the local wine options were very limited and entry-level.
This was our third visit to Nido. We had previously taken a special bottle of wine and paid corkage. Not a problem. Saturday night we also had a beautiful old bottle of wine which we had decanted ready to have with dinner. We were going to purchase one bottle and drink our special wine with the main. On arrival we were told in no uncertain terms that NO we could Not have BYO. The person was quite rude.
Not to spoil the evening we went along with her and thankfully we had a wonderful waitress who was cheerful and knowledgeable
It is a really great restaurant and the food is excellent
I was under the impression that in South Australia with our liquor license laws all restaurants had to accept BYO
We had seats at the kitchen bar and it was inspiring to see the chefs at work in such a small space but with skill and efficiency. The dishes all looked fresh and the ones we ate were tasty and filling. The bar staff could know more about the wines they serve. Overall it was a nice dinner and I would recommend this restaurant to others.
I found the pasta main dish with milk feed veal a bit too salted, everything else was great
My favourite local restaurant . Great vibe , delicious food and really lovely staff .
Mid week luncheon full of diners great waiters thoroughly recommend
Great food, friendly and attentive service and great atmosphere. The food is classic and original. A hard balance to reach! Amazing flavours and every dish hit the mark. Great suggestions from wait staff too. Can’t recommend highly enough.
Read a review in the Weekend Australian a short while ago. We were very fortunate to get in on a short booking , which we did easily on-line. The staff who greeted us was very friendly and helpful, indeed he was for our entire experience. We had a little trouble deciphering the menu, but with the waiters help and viewing the meals coming out it was easy. The food was superb, well presented and flavoursome. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very lively, the food was presented in good time, not rushed or slow, and we were made to feel very welcome and there was no pressure to leave , but to relax and enjoy ourselves.
We will certainly return in the near future and have already recommended it as a must go to restaurant.
Food was good but a little too much oil in my pasta dish although my partners food was really good. The music was so loud it was difficult to converse. Service was very good and very prompt. They were flexible with our seating as we did not want to sit at the table originally allocated.
