MustangHarry’s underwent a $1.5M renovation in 2017, which expanded and transformed the entire venue with tufted leather banquets, reclaimed wood walls and nooks, and antique fixtures and skylights that capture the rustic charisma of post-industrial NYC with an Irish twist.
Interesting menu but, overpriced for the very average food quality. Service was above average though.
Mustang Harry’s never disappoints!
My husband, son , and I had a fun dinner prior to our MSG Knick VS Lakers game.
Excellent venue. From front door to wait staff are all 5 star
Had a great birthday brunch here for my boyfriend! Their bottomless brunch menu is however outdated on opentable so I suggest calling ahead for specials and pricing.
Family reunion - it was a little noisy when we arrived but they put us at a table in the back which was perfect. We could talk comfortably. They were very patient with us - and kept filling our water glasses long after we ordered our last drink. We didn't feel rushed. I was very pleased with the service - really terrific night. I was so impressed by the service.
Great place for pre/ post game meal or drinks when visiting MSG. Great service and establishment.
From the time you walk in the door being greeted by Luis, until you depart with professional wait servers is a first class experience.
Waited 1 hour for our meal. They used instant mash potatoes. They were gracious enough to take that entree off the bill. Drinks & burgers only. Fun spot
So this was my groups 4th or 5th time going to Mustang Harry’s before an event at MSG. Sadly this time they were inundated with large parties and their kitchen couldn’t keep up. We ordered just apps and drinks and gave up after an hour without receiving our food. The manager was very apologetic and he comped our bill for both food and drinks. We left a big tip for the poor waitress who was run off her feet. Won’t let this last experience deter us from going back.
We arrived at the restaurant and were advised that the restaurant is no longer honoring reservations made on OpenTable. If so, the restaurant should remove itself from the system.
We apologize for any misunderstanding. We do use Open Table for booking reservations, as well as 7rooms and Google. However, for parties larger than 6 you should be promoted to call the restaurant to make a reservation. Again we are truly sorry for any mixup .
Disappointing. Our waitress seemed to have lost our order. We had 1.25 hr before we had to leave for the Rangers game. They served us 1 hr in. Had 3 bites of my burger before we had to leave. No apology. No break on the price. $250 meal for 4 with none of us getting to enjoy our meal.
We were there on a lively Sunday afternoon during a Ravens game. Good food, good service but hard to talk over the game. The filet should have been cut into smaller pieces for my personal taste.
Very busy place, food was good. Waitress was too busy, but still did a nice job. Burger was 8 out of 10. Brussels were good.
Thank you for the good review. Hope you come back soon.
Arrived in New York for a family vacation and this was the perfect place to eat and unwind after the flight ! Food was great ! Service was great and the Christmas decor was festive !! Thank you !
Hi Jill, We appreciate your review and rating. Hope to see you on your next trip to NYC.
Went Mustang Harry’s prior to a concert in MSG. Unfortunately so did everybody else
Wall to wall people. Had to wait 30 min with a reservation but service by our server was outstanding got food and drink in 35 minutes
We enjoyed our dining experience!
Food was great...service was good. Atmosphere was perfect....terrific time.
There was a group of men that changed tables FOUR times sitting each time at tables just behind us. They were VERY loud and generally inebriated. They were using terrible language and just plain disgusting. They should be ashamed of themselves.
We unfortunately were there during Santacon and the place was incredibly loud and crowded. After an issue with our table being taken by other patrons the owner stepped in and got us a table in the back of the restaurant where quieter. The food and service were great!
Nursing school reunion with 4 of my best friends .
This was a birthday and I indicated that in my reservation. I was a party of 3 who had an early reservation (4:30). I even arrived slightly early (4:15) and the tables were pretty empty. I have been coming here for years and excitedly returned. We were placed on a two top with a corner seat, so for drinks or apps, this may have worked. We were there for a birthday dinner and I requested to be moved, especially as I was seated next to a party of 3 at a 4top with just drinks and apps. I was told by the manager that he was booked and we would be fine. We spent the entire dinner continually rearranging plates and glasses and didn’t even remind our server that is was a birthday. Our $49 steak was undercooked, our fish tacos were ice cold and our beer glasses were 3/4 filled. Very disappointed with this experience.
We were seeing a show at Madison Square Garden (about a block away) and picked this restaurant because it looked good and was close. We made a 6pm reservation for a 8pm show. But that wasn't early enough. When we got there at a few minutes till 6, the place was a madhouse, many groups with reservations waiting to be seated. We were seated by 6:10, we decided to just get a burger instead of a steak or full entree because we were worried about getting out the door by 7:30pm. Turns out this was a good call, we got our food about 7:15 (after asking about it a couple times) and choked our food down and ran out the door. The wait service was great, very quick, got drinks fine, but the kitchen couldn't keep up. We actually paid the bill when the food came. I can't really rate the food, I guess okay, but we certainly didn't enjoy it. The place is large, and being that close to MSG, gets crazy busy. We really needed a 5:30 reservation. We basically had a one or two star dinner, but probably share blame for the timing. I would try it again if in the area, but allow time!
I booked a ready
Love the service and easy food! We were seated by the door on a cold winter's night and were freezing. When we asked to be moved the waitress coordinated it immediately...Thanks alot! Have been many times and will go back especially when attending an MSG event! Love that they play the music of the artist performing at the Garden too!
Excellent crispy oysters. So convenient to MSG
Initially, we were a bit nervous because they didn't have our reservation. So I showed them the confirmation email from open table, and we only waited maybe 5 minutes before getting a table. So that was really good. The place was really great. Food was good and it was packed. Unfortunately we had a show to get to, so we weren't able to really sit back and just take it all in. But I will definitely return.
Great place to hang out before any event at MSG! Great service and food and efficient!
We were here for a business lunch and had a great time with our lovely waitress. The service was quick, the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the food was awesome! I had the french onion soup with garlic parm fries. I’ll definitely be back.
We had a great waitress. we were served with enough time to get to the show
Food was great and I would definitely go back. We sat in the back which is not as noisy as the front bar area.
Great food and Sharon are waitress was lovely
This dinner brought together family from four states to a very festive place in a great location near Penn Station. The food was very good and we highly recommend the lamb appetizer! The service was a bit snarky in response to questions, which we found surprising.
Simply the best pub in NYC! You are family when you are here...thank you for a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. See you soon
Had Thanksgiving here. My Turkey was amazing. I was wishing for more mashed potatoes. Kid Friendly, fast service, nicely decorated for the holidays.
Mustang Harry's food was surprisingly good. I guess I don't always expect a pub to have wonderful cuisine! Buffalo wings were pretty good. My short ribs were outstanding. The side of fava beans/peas/zucchini was tasteless and boring and undercooked. Our waitress was darling!
For a quick bite to eat before a show or game is perfect. Make sure you have reservations.
Mustang Harry's is a very lively, bustling restaurant. It's only a block away from MSG so it's a great place to go before an event there. We went before seeing Billy Joel and it was quite enjoyable. We both had burgers and they were delicious. I highly recommend and would definitely return.
