Nestled between Kingston and Manuka in the stylish East Hotel, Muse is a meeting place for those who enjoy a grenache with their Grenville, and their Winton with a good washed rind.
Contemporary yet warm and inviting, Muse is an inspired venue for conversation, ideas and indulgence, both literary and epicurean.
Muse is always a serene and tasteful experience, brunch, lunch and dinner. Love it every time!
The quality of the food was overpriced well beyond equivalent standards elsewhere in Canberra. We won’t be coming back or recommending to others.
We all enjoyed our breakfasts. I appreciated the opportunity to ‘build my own brekkie’ although feta to go with my sourdough, poached eggs and avocado would have been good. Happy with the service.
For breakfast, Muse is perfect! Inventive, delicious food. I had the mushrooms - yummy!
Muse has it covered! Excellent service from the time we arrived until we finished a shared birthday lunch. The menu, though not extensive left us agonising over the the plates on offer as the choices were very appealing to both of us.
Finally, having consulted with our waiter we decided on the Kingfish and Chickpea Tagine agreeing that we could have a taste of the others selection.
My friend had the Haloumi as a starter, which was full of flavour and absolutely delicious. I will be having this next visit though my Beetroot Tartare was a close second.
Mains included a glass of house red or white and while my friend tucked into the Kingfish I had the Chickpea Tagine and again both were beautifully plated and delicious.
Allow time to browse the adjacent bookshop as they have an excellent collection of books on their shelves and tables.
Overall, a wonderful venue for lunch.
Awesome food and great staff good price nice location
Always feel happy in Muse.Surrounded by the things I love. Books and wonderful food❤️
Lovely food but we waited over half an hour for granola which doesn't involve any cooking
The food and drink was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back to try other things on the menu or just to have the same again! Service was friendly and not intrusive. And while it seemed noisy as you enter the restaurant, it didn’t effect the six of us at the table having a conversation. It was a really nice atmosphere. And loved being able to browse the books after our meal.
Ps the coffee was perfect!!
Our 5th year at Muse for Xmas brunch. We keep coming back for the relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, delicious food (and an excellent bloody Mary) and some Xmas Day shopping in the bookshop.
The food was very underwhelming for the price. We were not warmly welcomed to the cafe. They were not busy but took ages to be offered a menu and be given water. Disappointed as such potential.
Incredibly expensive for pretty regular food,
$4 for one rasher of bacon for example and $16 for a pre mix mimosa!!
I liked how they remembered what you ordered for where you were sitting though.
I had to ask for an extra chair 4 times and then got told we could only have it for less than an hour - it wasn’t packed or anything.
But very nice pleasant and a great ambiance for a girly brunch
Brunch at The Muse was delicious ... service was great and staff was friendly.
Had brunch at Muse with family and friends. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the serving sizes we’re generous. Coffee was great too. Highly recommend.
Always good, which is why I keep coming back to this restaurant!!! :-)
While the food was very good and the atmosphere pleasant, Muse did not particularly stand out in any way. Great to have the books. The food serving was on the small size. Very friendly and competent staff.
I have eaten at Muse twice and on both occasions my breakfasts were great. By the second visit my coffee order had been remembered which I was very impressed with!
We have loved having Muse as a favourite Canberra spot for us and to take visitors. Will miss you guys but glad you're having a bit of a break after all your hard work. Really appreciate the thought you put into making Muse something different with the book shop and the talks - it's been fantastic. Thank you.
A colourful inclusive space with plenty of options to pick from, service was attentive, knowledgeable, kind and fast.
Farewell brunch for a work colleague, with table for 8. Table was set up in bookstore, staff were excellent, taking orders for coffee as people arrived. Attentive without being intrusive.
Enjoyed cocktails and wine on a wet afternoon and then breakfast the next day was amazing
A little bit noisy and felt crowded for Sunday brunch but great food and service.
Cannot get enough of Muse.Always feels like we are going somewhere special!
I was disappointed in my meal. I had veal and it was so chewy! I actually could chew some of it and had to spit it out. Very nice wines though.
I really enjoyed my meal and the service was excellent - helpful and unobtrusive. The noise level was somewhat higher than comfortable. As a group we found the menu a bit limited, but each of us chose a meal we were very pleased with.
Fantastic food and space to muse about delights of life, food wine and books.
A charming restaurant/ bar with a delicious menu. Very good value lunch specials. My friend and I tried the date and chickpea tagine and loved it. Highly recommended.
Such a great dining atmosphere - the restaurant feels spacious and has great lighting and ambiance. The service was fantastic, food was nice and the prices were very reasonable. The bookshop was the cherry on the cake, and all books were beautiful editions. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
Really like the ambience and quiet that Muse provides for patrons. To be able to relax, converse, eat and enjoy an evening in a library is an added bonus. There was a minor incident with one of the meals but other than that the food was great.
Great good and service! Thank you!!
Nice atmosphere, good wine, delicious food. I’d recommend it :)
Had breakfast at Muse before and it's always very good - excellent service and very convenient!
The trio of tasting wine at a set price is impressive and unique. It’s a perfect accompaniment with the meal.
The service at Muse is usually terrible and the food great. However, last weekend the service was great and the food (breakfast) was quite ordinary. My french toast which was supposed to be sweet had clearly been cut on the same board they used for onions as that is what it tasted like. My friends all said their breakfast was fine, but not outstanding. I'll still go back because it's a lovely spot in a great location.
Good food - and plentiful - in a lovely atmosphere!
It’s a beautiful place and loved it. My husband loves quite places it’s such a relaxing environment.
Fantastic attentive service and consistently delicious food. Love the idea of great food and coffee in a bookstore. Only downside was the noise - it was so deafening couldn't hear my dining companion's conversation.
I really enjoyed my food and the staff were friendly and very helpful.
However, I’d gone out for a nice Sunday morning brunch catch-up with a friend, and had to leave as soon as I finished my food because the café was extremely noisy and I couldn’t hear her to hold a conversation. I ended up with a headache.
On a previous visit the noise had been more bearable, but on this occasion they’d allowed too many large groups to book who were speaking very loudly with each other. The staff offered me a table outside, but I also didn’t want to be sitting in the cold.
I think I’ll be back, but never again during a busy period.
Top glass. I dined with a gluten free, dairy free friend and nothing was too much trouble.
Love Muse. The owners are awesome, the menu is well thought out and carefully put together and the delivery fantastic !
