Took my husband for his birthday and he enjoyed his first experience at mr.chow (so did I)...the food was amazing, a beautiful view in the city at night...it was perfect!!!
Just a nice local place when you want amazing service and unique cuisine. For all ages and occasions because the staff is so friendly no matter what! Bon appetite!
Booked a reservation, drove all the way there only to find out you were closed!
Extremely unprofessional. If you planned to close, you should have called or canceled my reservation.
They overheard it was my daughter’s birthday and although we were going home to have cake and didn’t order dessert, they still surprised us with a complimentary slice of cake with a birthday candle in it for her at the end of our dinner. Service was outstanding.
Great food , great service
The staff is amazing
Food was delicious as always, service was not food.
Mr Chow is a longtime favorite and it was our final evening as a family for awhile.
No complaints excellent food excellent ambiance all around impressive
The food was over salted and I was a bit disappointed in that but it was my birthday dinner so I swallowed it with pride. It was my first time there and I expected a valued meal but it didn't meet the mark. The appetizers were good but not the dinner entrees.
Considering the actual situation, were we ate outside, it was still an a wonderful experience.
Lot he story of the restaurant, and how amazing it used to be in the 80ties.
We have eaten outdoors this was our first time indoors.
The service was up to their prepandemic levels.
Of course the food was delicious.
Great food, great service and nice decor despite outside in the colder weather. Heat towers could be warmer but overall a great birthday dinner was had!
Outstanding!
Mr. Chow is pretty otherworldly. It's the kind of "just for special occasions" spot that you want to invent new special occasions for.
We were seated inside the restaurant on 57th st which had absolutely no atmosphere. The setting itself was very disappointing. I appreciate with covid that restaurants have to take precautions but many other restaurants have achieved this while maintaining a good ambience, Mr Chows did not.
My wife’s birthday. We sat outside. Ambiance was good
Lovely dinner sitting outside with white glove service and fantastic presentation and taste!
Great night out. Servers were nice and food was great. Would go back.
One of the worst meals I had in a very, very long time. The food was either bland or over salted. The presentation was horrific and the prices were stratospheric. Never again!!
Food options felt overpriced for what they were..
The food was amazing!!! I will definitely visit again next time I am in New York City!
Sadly not the mr chow I knew from years past. While I understand the dilemma all nyc restaurants are going thru, I don't think rushing your diners along is good move if you want them to return. Every 5 .minutes someone kept coming over to touch the plates. Annoying to say the least and the food was just so so. Oh well, on to the next
Great service, wonderful food. I would recommend for anyone to attend for a special occasion!
Nothing has changed over 30 years. By far the best anywhere.
Always great ambiance and food. Beautiful outside seating
The staff was amazing, and the food was delicious!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
It was a lovely New York evening dining alfresco. Dinner and service was perfect as always.
Great service, nice atmosphere, would recommend to add kids menu.
It was an amazing experience, the food was incredible. Try the Coconut Sorbet!!!
This was our first time at Mr.Chow, we were seated immediately. The staff was very friendly, our waiter was great and well informed about the menu. We ordered to starters and our main course. Everything was amazing! We definitely will be eating at Mr. Chows again.
Even better than I remember. Duck was delicious!
What can I say other than we go once a week. Great food and service.
We went to Mr. Chow, which has been a long-time favorite, to order the Peking duck. On requesting it, the waiter told us it would be an hour of preparation time. We asked him to put the order in right away and we would wait. He told us at least twice more that it would be an hour wait. We ordered drinks and appetizers and the Peking duck came in about 40 minutes. It was delicious as usual and worth the wait. Prior to leaving, we told the maitre d' that the waiter was really discouraging us from ordering Peking duck, whether intentionally or not. It's important to let customers know that there is a wait of maybe 40 to 60 minutes, but the staff should not be discouraging customers from ordering a signature dish. The maitre 'd was very solicitous and the rest of the staff was great. The meal was excellent and we will go back again.
The food was delicious and the staff was amazing! Definitely can’t wait to go back!
Any business that serves with gratitude and respect is a blessing. During the epidemic they still managed to follow safety precautions and I applaud.
One of the mysteries of NYC: Mr. Chow's cuisine virtually without exception is totally, completely and unreservedly tasteless. It's incredible. A walk-in Chinese joint on E. 86th St has better tasting food. And as Billy Crystal would say, the portions are ridiculously small too which would not be a problem if the prices were not through the roof. The atmosphere is upbeat. The restaurant has done a good job of dealing with social distancing. The service at times is "neglectful" which of course adds insult to the considerable injury of dinner here. I hasten to add that Sonja, the maître d'hôtel, is a true Princess who works tirelessly to make everyone happy including making up for the shoddy service. So if you have a wad to waste, put Mr. Chow at the top of your list.
Dinner and service was excellent! Nice outdoor setting! The hostess recommended a lovely drink for my boyfriend's birthday and sent a slice of cake over with candle--- excellent touch!!
