Fabulous, my 2nd time at Movida Aqui and it was excellent yet again.
I was quite underwhelmed by the food at Movida Aqui. The calamari sandwich and and anchovy tapas were delicious with interesting contrasting flavours but the other dishes were less so. The kingfish with beets was bland and the wet rice with mussels seemed tired and uninspired.
Dinner was great! Some dishes were very rich (the paellas & beef cheek with cauliflower mash), so can't have too much of it. The highlight for the night would be the pork cutlet and the creme caramel. Highly recommended.
This was our first visit to a Spanish restaurant.
Andrew, our waiter, assisted us in our menu selection and wines. His outstanding professionalism made our evening a memorable occasion resulting in lovely food and accompanying wines.
Thank you Andrew and Movida Aqui.
Fantastic venue beautiful tapas and staff incredible in helping choices and flow of the experience
Loved the flavours and portions
Wines great choices
Great food Great staff and quick efficient service!
Excellent food and service. Paella was outstanding.
service was wonderful. He made sure we knew how to order and let us know when he thought we would need more of a certain item. The food was amazing and we left the restaurant with a full tummy.
Love MoVida, always make a point of visiting when in Melbourne .
Great place to meet friends, share a plate or ten of their wonderful and unique tapas options.
Food was OK but expensive for the money. Was met with a bit of attitude when we didn't order drinks or rack up the bill as high as they would like us to.
Disappointing experience this time.
Poor cured meat selection. Octopus is far away of the Spanish flavours as well as a ridiculous small service for its price, just good smoke paprika and evoo coul be enough. A shame that they burnt the beer cheek sauce, the flavour was all over the dish. And when it happens shouldn't be serve in a restaurant. It will take a while to come me back, feeling that they are comfortable with brand and reputation but not taking care of the kitchen anymore.
I have been wanting to go to MoVida ever since I became a chef, and it was an amazing experience. Thank you to the lovely waiting staff that looked after my father and my self, although as we came in they did look us up and down like we came from somewhere lower classed (I did come straight from work, so I probably did look tired and gross.. lol). Out main waitress was awesome and had major knowledge of the menu, with an all around great vibe with the most amazing food
Great lunch with equisite food and thoughtful, timely and friendly service. Thanks guys be back soon
Great night .
Waitress very friendly helpful and efficient
Food was excellent plentiful and prompt
The tapas were mind blowing and the ambience is fitting for a romantic date. However, for a top-tier restaurant we had to ask for the menu 15mins into sitting down. The staff were friendly but weren't as attentive as expected. Most of them were standing around and we really had to try to grab their attention.
Art on a plate which delights the senses and first class service, superb!!!
It was a good dinner - excellent food, good wine selection. Quite loud and maybe a bit on the pricey side , but ok value. The wait staff were ok: not bad, but not great either - not much fun.
Would go back, but maybe not in a hurry .
Great service and fantastic food. It's a tapas style menu with some novel food combinations, but everything works. Be prepared to spend about $50 per person plus drinks. The wait staff will pair food with drinks quite well if you're not sure what to look for
Flounder Special with mussels was excellent. As was Beef Cheek with Pedro Ximenez and cauliflower.
Shared all the main dishes.
Delicious food and attentive, professional service. A favourite.
There were a couple of great dishes in the Chef's selection. The service was good and friendly. Thought the beer was overpriced - common f$12 for a small bottle of imported beer - and the reds just above par for the $70 price tag. I think the Movida empire now is a bit like the Roman - lacking full commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Incredible food and wine. Awesome dessert
Our fave melbourne restaurant. Never disappoints.
Excellent food and first class services.
I have been to a number of MoVida restaurants and to the Aqui for lunch and dinner a few times. Food is always very tasty and the service first class. Highly recommended for Spanish tapas dishes.
We have been to Aqui a number of times and each time we find something else on the menu that is superb.
Great variety and inspiring cuisine. Fantastic service from Alex. He ensured all our tastes were met with both the food and alcohol selection. Would highly recommend this restaurant to our friends / colleagues. thank you for a great experience. Cathy
Been here a few times now and always love it. Food is sensational, service excellent, great ambiance. Highly recommended!
Definitely WOW factor. I booked on line seamlessly, they followed up the booking which was appreciated, our waitress Cathy was delightful, attentive and helpful and the food delicious. It was a Christmas catch-up forgive of us and everyone was happy with my choice of venue.
Great service. Great location great food options. Will come again
Best Tapas I've ever had. Amazing experience, couldn't recommend more. Loved the cocktails and the contemporary vibe. Loved it!!
The food was good as usual and service was friendly. One of our dishes was missed which caused some delay and was the only negative aspect. A simple oversight which was rectified and provided to us for free.
Movida anywhere (Aqui, original, next door) never fails to please. Professional but casual, simple food and flavours done exceptionally well.
Second time to Aqui and it didn't disappoint. Food was high standard and service brilliant. Loved the experience.
Amazing food and service
Exceptional experience. Opinion was divided over the goat (I loved it) and there was a cheese dish we thought was a bit light on, but everything else we all thought was DELICIOUS. Music not too loud so we could actually talk to each other, which was very much appreciated. Service great too. Will be going back.
The tapas dishes we had were all very good! Really enjoyed the slow cook beef fish too . It was melt in the mouth meat. Dessert was yum too !
Great as always, the Buey is an exceptional plate every time, I really enjoy the combination of Wagyu with the Black Garlic, Pickled Garlic, Crisps and the little soft flan-esque things.
They could not find a confirmed reservation made online. all the reservations were handwritten in a book. We were immediately seated though at an outside table. From the top of the menu we ordered sardines and mussels. Literally Two tin cans of mussels and sardines were presented to us. Come to find out all the items at the top of the menu are from a tin can. If any menu item is Not Fresh in a top rated restaurant it simply should not be on the menu or served .
Great food and atmosphere. Were left for at least ten minutes with drinks list but no menu and no service. Finally had to ask for menu. But they made up for it. Waitress very helpful and good suggestions for wine and food.
