MoVida Aqui Ratings and Reviews
I was quite underwhelmed by the food at Movida Aqui. The calamari sandwich and and anchovy tapas were delicious with interesting contrasting flavours but the other dishes were less so. The kingfish with beets was bland and the wet rice with mussels seemed tired and uninspired.
This was our first visit to a Spanish restaurant.
Andrew, our waiter, assisted us in our menu selection and wines. His outstanding professionalism made our evening a memorable occasion resulting in lovely food and accompanying wines.
Thank you Andrew and Movida Aqui.
Disappointing experience this time.
Poor cured meat selection. Octopus is far away of the Spanish flavours as well as a ridiculous small service for its price, just good smoke paprika and evoo coul be enough. A shame that they burnt the beer cheek sauce, the flavour was all over the dish. And when it happens shouldn't be serve in a restaurant. It will take a while to come me back, feeling that they are comfortable with brand and reputation but not taking care of the kitchen anymore.
I have been wanting to go to MoVida ever since I became a chef, and it was an amazing experience. Thank you to the lovely waiting staff that looked after my father and my self, although as we came in they did look us up and down like we came from somewhere lower classed (I did come straight from work, so I probably did look tired and gross.. lol). Out main waitress was awesome and had major knowledge of the menu, with an all around great vibe with the most amazing food
The tapas were mind blowing and the ambience is fitting for a romantic date. However, for a top-tier restaurant we had to ask for the menu 15mins into sitting down. The staff were friendly but weren't as attentive as expected. Most of them were standing around and we really had to try to grab their attention.
Great service and fantastic food. It's a tapas style menu with some novel food combinations, but everything works. Be prepared to spend about $50 per person plus drinks. The wait staff will pair food with drinks quite well if you're not sure what to look for
There were a couple of great dishes in the Chef's selection. The service was good and friendly. Thought the beer was overpriced - common f$12 for a small bottle of imported beer - and the reds just above par for the $70 price tag. I think the Movida empire now is a bit like the Roman - lacking full commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Definitely WOW factor. I booked on line seamlessly, they followed up the booking which was appreciated, our waitress Cathy was delightful, attentive and helpful and the food delicious. It was a Christmas catch-up forgive of us and everyone was happy with my choice of venue.
Exceptional experience. Opinion was divided over the goat (I loved it) and there was a cheese dish we thought was a bit light on, but everything else we all thought was DELICIOUS. Music not too loud so we could actually talk to each other, which was very much appreciated. Service great too. Will be going back.
They could not find a confirmed reservation made online. all the reservations were handwritten in a book. We were immediately seated though at an outside table. From the top of the menu we ordered sardines and mussels. Literally Two tin cans of mussels and sardines were presented to us. Come to find out all the items at the top of the menu are from a tin can. If any menu item is Not Fresh in a top rated restaurant it simply should not be on the menu or served .
