The staff were so attentive and very helpful, and even more so as I cut my finger on a crab, the quality of the seafood was very fresh and of high standards, you may want to tell people when your seating them that there's food in the back fridges behind the seafood, as we didn't notice it until we were half way through our meal and then we were not interested in eating any of it, also I found there was not enough choices of hot foods that interested me, I did like that the staff came out singing happy birthday to me and bought me out a cake, that was very kind and thoughtful, even for the other 2 people who were celebrating their birthdays there. My overall experience was good, a bit pricey for what we ate and I would tell friends to go there for the seafood.

Very overpriced for the poor selection of food.
This is the first time I was ever disappointed at a buffet in my whole life.
The only 'seafood' I can recall were the oysters, cooked prawns and crab which weren't so fresh.
There were only about 10 choices of hot food, and only about 2 of them were sea food, rest were potatoes, veges, and noodles. Seafood chowder was a joke, it was rather a cream soup with a 'hint' of seafood.
Again, poor range of deserts which were in the fridge that I had to open with one had holding the plate.
Never again going back..

My first time to eat at the marriot buffet on the 5 th january 2019
The food was excellent and the restaurant had a good vibe .
Most impressive waa the service the staff were very polite and anything we requested was fast with a friendly manor.
I will definitely go back and recommend to family and friends.
Best buffet for price and service and good quality of food ..
my wife ordered pina colada best she has ever had ...

Beautiful fresh food at Motion Dining, I had the market fish special which was grilled barramundi with pea sauce and pineapple salsa with kipfler potatoes. Very delicious, my barramundi was cooked to perfection. Kids had their meals earlier which was a bonus. With my son being restless, the waitress helped us by providing both my children with a passport activity pack which entertained the kids. Top service, all the waiters very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants a nice meal, child friendly but there were also nice spots within the restaurant just for couples. We will be back again, maybe for a birthday next time.

I booked this restaurant for a nice dinner with my wife. We have stayed at the Marriott in different countries as well as Brisbane and the Gold Coast and I figured we couldn’t go wrong based on experience. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was abysmal. The service was woeful. The drink waiter brought me a beer but didn’t bring a drink for my wife as we had reminded them 3 times. The food (what little there was) looked like it had been sitting there for a week. Most of the dishes were empty and messy in appearance. We were there for the seafood buffet and they had run out of Bugs at 7pm on Saturday night. The prawns were small and soft and tasteless. Need I go on? I have been in restaurants before when a patron gets fired up and creates a scene and I have never wanted to be ‘that guy’ but this was incredibly disappointing. We left and went to a different restaurant and will not be back. My advice to anyone considering going to Motion? Don’t!

The tables are far too close together and we did not appreciate the couple next to us joing in our conservation.
The desserts were very poor.
You need to spread the tables out to make it more intimate and to provide a personal barrier.

We decided to give Motion Bar and Grill a go on this occassion for the Seafood Buffet. Overall there was a limited selection of seafood consisting of prawns, oysters natural and Kilpatrick in the hot section, spanner crab, seafood salad, calamari salad, other salads such as potato x 2, beetroot and standard greens. Limited hot food selection and limited desserts compared to some other options in town. Loved the fresh little bread rolls! Glad to have tried but don't believe the value was there. The service however was outstanding, we felt comfortable and welcome from the moment we arrived and we well looked after during our night. Recommend going during happy hour for some great cocktails!

We hadn't been for a couple of years so decided to treat ourselves. Was a little disappointed that there were no longer pancakes available. The only proper downside was that coffee was not included in the buffet and that was not told to us when we sat down. BUT ... the eggs benny were works of art as always.

We normally avoid buffets...this was a reminder of why. The food was OK, but the fresh crab was frozen, which meant all we could eat was prawns and oysters (ok, nothing huge to complain about, but you can get bored of these too). I prefer their Champagne and oyster deal as a reason to pop in. I also quite like the bar and the staff. I often stop by for a drink if walking home because they make you feel a little special.

Small celebration for a family birthday and could not fault the service, quality of food and overall experience at the Motion Bar and Grill.
Our personal waitress went over and above to ensure the night was special.
Thank you, we will all definitely return in the near future.

Sorry but your seafood buffet was terrible. So different to the one at The Sofitel. It was such an incredible waste of money. We will not be going back.
The only good point was the service- the staff were great but the food was so appalling and expensive.

The food was good, however very small variety for the price you pay. We have attended seafood buffet, from seafood selection there was: 1 type of crab, 1 type of prawns, 1 type of oysters
calamari, mussels and that's about it for $79.00 per person..
i've had better for this price with a selection of different prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, crabs etc.

Seafood Buffet was of a very low standard and the drinks service was almost non-existent however the staff were very friendly, apologetic and helpful. Low standard of food for dinner did not match the high standard of the friendly staff. Did not eat there again during our stay. (other than our prepaid breakfasts which were also of low standard for a 4/5 star hotel)

Very disappointing. I walked in and saw the seafood buffet selection and hoped there was more on offer around the corner, perhaps in a separate bay, but no that was it. I chose this place to bring my overseas visitor for dinner after a day spent showing her around Brisbane, and for the price of $79 per person, I felt embarrassed at the meagre fare. Also the decor and atmosphere was more suited to the business lunch set, and extremely dull for an evening meal, although I can’t fault the staff who were very professional and courteous. The crab and prawns were bland and tasteless, nobody went back for seconds. Ditto the salads, and nothing worth sighing over with the hot food selection either. Really all I’ll say about the Marriott’s seafood buffet is that you get far superior food and value from a Sizzlers. I would never recommend this place to anyone, let alone go back again.

Very disappointed. Hotel in general nice and happy with room. Seafood buffet limited options, hot food terrible and rsl standard. The desert section a discrace for such a hotel. It appears everything being done on a shoestring budget right down to the tea and sugar in rooms and served water out of a plastic Coles water bottle while dining. Will not be back.

Service was a bit slow at first.
Hot food containers were not full (some were empty)
Omelet, pancakes & waffle were outstanding
We should have been told that the hot chocolates we ordered (they weren't very hot) were an extra charge an not included in the breakfast buffet price

Food and drink were great, only issue was with bar service as it took greater than 30 minutes to get our orders throughout the time spent there and one drink missed that was already paid for. Floor staff and food was fantastic and were great at handling our issues with the bar and would love to go back and have the yummy menu again!

We love the Brisbane Marriott, however we were disappointed to see a year since our last visit, the decor still hasn’t been updated
Basic things like chairs and tables are in badly need of an update, they are dirty and uncomfortable. It makes the restaurant look uncared for.

The seafood (oysters, crab, mussels, steamed salmon) was amazing. Husband didn't like the prawns (I'm allergic so couldn't try). Smoked salmon was too heavily smoked for mine and husband's liking but our 11 month old loved it. Everything was fresh and lovely. Not a huge range of food options compared to Sofitel or Stamford Plaza seafood buffets but what they had was what we normally eat so that didn't bother us. The dessert wasn't great. No signs to tell us what was on offer made it hard to pick out desserts for our 6 yo. Ice cream options weren't child friendly. Again, not sure what they were. There was no plain chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. However, they did have great topping which I wouldn't have put on any of the ice cream on offer. One was mango but can't be sure, our kid wouldn't touch it. The other flavour was macadamia nut ice cream which was delicious but our kid wouldn't touch it, the other flavour I didn't try, so have no idea what it was, but wasn't a plain flavour. Cheese were awesome! But someone had to ask for crackers to be brought out. Service was good, staff were all friendly. However, my water only got filled once. One time the lady refilled my husband's glass and walked away when my glass was empty. Overall it was a good dinner with the family.

The occasion was a family Christmas eve dinner. We traveled interstate to Brisbane for this dinner expecting a quality standard at the Marriott 's restaurant.

The service was very poor.

We were left standing besides the "wait here " sign for ages with multiple staff passing by saying somebody will be with you shortly.

The advertised dinner arrangement was not available.

We even had to serve ourselves with water.

It was not a busy night!
