Mortimer House Kitchen
Great eggs Florentine! Relaxing and enjoyable. Little rushed at end but not too bad. Would definitely go again.
Love this place for its decor and open kitchen however we were super disappointed with the food. Lacked flavour and something that could be cooked at home. Extremely expensive for what it is, especially the starters. Unfortunately wouldn’t reccomend as the food is not up to standard.
Nice restaurant, good selection of food and wine. Would happily return.
A really interring menu with some of the simplest dishes elevated to a new level. The burnt carrots, the homemade tagliatelle, the soft shell crab fritti, all amazing. Modern, comfortable room with relaxed but excellent service. Highly recommend.
We had to set the booking back as were running late, it was not an issue. Cheerful friendly staff who were attentive & helpful when it came to allergies. Food and atmosphere was lovely 😊
Great food and relaxed service ie not intrusive
Regular visitor and always wonderful - it is my neighbourhood Fitrovia favourite
Beautiful setting, lovely staff but the food is tiny and wasn't cooked amazingly (e.g. still very gelatinous whites in my poached egg). Coffee was fine. Shame though about the kitchen part of the place!
Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Nice idea for sharing tapas style entrees. Good homemade pasta and bread.
My husband had a steak which was very good, while my pasta with girolles and truffle shavings was very nice but a little bland. Very nice staff and I like the open kitchen.
Great service, really interesting menu, very reasonable prices, very nice vibe. Highly recommended
We have eaten at MHK previously but on this occasion, the inability of the management to either relocate us or dampen the raucous noise from the adjacent table makes it very difficult to return. It is true we were offered a low table in the lounge area but that was no way to eat dinner. We had our first and main courses and left. What could have been an enjoyable evening was spoiled by lack of intervention. It is an interesting formula but not strong enough to cause us to forgive and return.
Fantastic place, great atmosphere and very good brunch. Love it. A bit expensive but great. Thank you!
The place and the atmosphere are really nice. We did not like the burgers so much but the rest of the food was really good!
Nice evening with very good surprises in the plate.
Highly recommend the beet tortellis, not so much the cauliflower.
Music is too loud and not pleasant considering the already lound sound of the guests.
All three courses were original, extremely tasty and perfectly presented.
However, our meal for two was marred by some very noisy people on an adjacent table of four, which was a shame, because we enjoyed the ambience otherwise, especially the open kitchen.
Beautiful place. Really nice staff. Great environment. Portions were quite small for price, but would highly recommend. Really enjoyed.
3rd visit was disappointing -poor table offered and food served too quickly/together
I hate being allocated a table where I face the wall. Very bad ambience. Overall, it was also very noisy, which made conversation a struggle. I tried the restaurant because of Giles Coren's review, but that's it. There are better places!
Best Eggs Benedict in london
Everything was lovely as usual
This is our 3rd time at MORTIMER House Kitchen in the past 6 months, I won’t be going back in a hurry. The menu hasn’t really changed, and to be honest a bit boring compared to other restaurants in the area. Not rushing back.
Fabulous food and service - maybe a little pricey but so perfect for a treat. This was a birthday dinner and although we hadn't flagged it up as such the waiting staff must have clocked it from being around our table and brought the desserts with birthday greetings for my husband!
We tried this restaurant after reading a review by Giles Coren and are very glad we followed his advice!
Nice restaurant. Good lighting... not too bright or too dark. Nice music... again, at the right level and not too loud or too soft. Friendly efficient service.
Great staff, excellent food, try the chicken sharing dish, superb!
Absolutely love coming here!
Simply delicious beetroot and smoked burrata tortelli, packed with flavour.
Charming and attentive service.
Quieter tables near the back.
Really lovely place and service was great - tasty pastries & coffee
Another lovely visit with close friends - Monday is the best night to go!
Also - the menu as changed Hurrah!
Great decor in a very nice sized space. High ceilings and you're not too close to other tables which is wonderful. The food was very good, the drinks were fine, and the dessert was outstanding (roasted pineapple with salted caramel ice-cream). Service was professional and timely.
Delicious food and impeccable service. We felt very looked after!
Lovely meal for a large group - good food (the lamb (for 2) was particularly lovely). Waiting staff divine. Ideally would have liked a larger range of wine by the glass due to different preferences but that won’t stop us returning.
the very talented Antonio "Lelo" Favuzzi, of L'anima fame, is on show in the open kitchen and has added some middle eastern inspired flavours to his Italian Fayre.
Cooked and presented beautifully in a relaxed room with a great ambience.
Professional but low key overall
Good menu and good food
Great food but small portions and big prices unfortunately.
Went to Mortimer House Kitchen for a business breakfast. The service was wonderful, attentive, friendly and helpful staff and the food served promptly - everything was delicious. The avocado on toast with smoked ricotta was presented especially beautifully. The coffee was also fantastic. Will definitely be returning.
it has a lovely atmosphere
staff are great - in general it was a good brunch was a little disappointed with a couple of our courses
in general would recommend it
An enjoyable evening with very good table service in buzzy surroundings. The menu is a little challenging but our main course was excellent, shoulder of lamb for two, preceded by "green soup" which was mainly pea and lived up to its name. My desert, the cheeseless cheesecake, was disappointing. Only real criticism is that the maitre d' who served us should learn to smile and not be gutted because we did not order cocktails or bottled water. A bonus is how easy it is to park.
Fantastic staff, great food, nice crowd.
Highly recommend this restaurant, mainly as the staff are so accommodating and friendly-not something one experiences all the time. Good menu choice and drinks offer, will definitely revisit.
A little Mediterranean and Aegean, a little inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine. All these cuisens are blended in Mortimer House Kitchen.
It is a place where you can eat tahini with aburgine next to Italian pasta.
Also I recommend their tiramisu which is quite balanced sugar and cream.
Staff are very kind and friendly.
We go every week! Wish the menu would change though. and to describe the asparagus as ENGLISH in October is a real own goal. Please change it - or stop serving it - it creates a bad impression.
