Ring back the onion tart! Best thing on the menu nothing vegetarian left besides eggs and a green salad
Great place to have a glass of wine (or more) in a relaxed atmosphere. Weather permitting the outside is very relaxing and comfy
I chose Morrell for its proximity to the Laura Pels theater and because I was looking for somewhere I thought would be reasonably fast and where we could try and share several small plates. Morrell lived up to all those expectations. Luckily, it was a nice evening so we were able to eat outside, which was very pleasant since the restaurant is in the middle of Rockefeller Center and not on a main street. We had a very nice, light meal and excellent wine. The dessert was a little slow to come out - we had to ask for it - otherwise the service was attentive. Not cheap, but I would go back, particularly on a nice evening.
Great food and atmosphere... staff was friendly and attentive, but not overly so
Great spot for a drink or dinner. Top notch service. Food is delicious. One of my favorite spots in New York.
it is a lovely place, that has a very extensive selection of good wines. They have a nice bar menu for happy hour, but this is not a place for vegetarians to go. Unfortunately, all I could find to eat were the deviled eggs. I would definitely go back but only for a drink.
Best wine-by-the-glass list in the city. Food is fine, but go there for the wine, and have a bite to eat while enjoying the fabulous selections. Dave and Will are wonderful wine-geek barkeeps. Highly recommended!
Good food and good service
The acoustics are not conducive to conversation. Not a good place to discuss business.
Always enjoy This place for a business lunch- fresh and tasty. Nice location. Expensive for what it is -
Morrell Wine Bar and Cafe is one of my favorite places to enjoy excellent wines and a wonderful selection of dishes to go with them. The menu is limited in that this is a cafe not a large restaurant, which adds to its charm. The location is perfect, especially in warm weather when you can sit outside and enjoy the beauty and history of Rockefeller Center.
We were treated with utmost attention and service. The wine and meal were excellent. Ambience is great, too. You can actually hear your table-mate and have a conversation.
Great spot for sampling wine with good food!
Maybe the problem was that we were seated upstairs but the service was awful. It felt like a place that didn't expect return customers so they didn't feel the need to provide good service.
Nice but small space snd pricey.
Second time visiting this restaurant. Impressed with the wines and food and elegant ambiance.
Wine is very overpriced. I won’t go back for that reason. I don’t like being ripped off.
Great food, fabulous wines. Perfect New York experience!
Excellent service in accommodating our earlier arrival. Appreciated special service from excellent somolier.
Our usual holiday treat, but this year the food was better than ever!
They took us right at our reservation time. The bar was packed and you had to get thru the bar to get to dining area. Service was awesome. Wine was very good -- but you were paying for very good wine. Had a great time. Noise level a bit loud. But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Bill for 4 with tip was $325.
My favorite hidden gem that sits in the midst of it all. Incredible hosts and staff. Consistently excellent seasonal dishes.
Great find when visiting Rockefeller Center. Great menu. chartucerie, cheese, and wonderful salads. Several Larger entrees available. My husband loved his Cod and I enjoyed the pea salad. Great selection of wines and the special selections at $7 a glass were an outstanding value.
Excellent experience. Great wine, beautiful plating
Wonderful wine selection by the glass and very tasty dishes.
Very good! Decorated fabulous for the holidays!!!
Outstanding wine list in a great setting! Excellent service and overall a wonderful experience.
This was always our go to place in midtown when in the city. The decor and menu have been totally revamped since we were last there and not for the better.
Wine list is notable and you will find all kind of wines from many countries. If you plan to enjoy a wine bottle, this is the place!
They took away the quinoa salad which was a hearty gluten free vegan option. Very disappointed it’s done. Would not go back until it was added back in.
Nice wine bar--we sat on the patio with a great view of the flags and Rockefeller Center. Would recommend in that area for sure!
Had a great experience for a very large group (20+) for lunch. Food was good, service was outstanding, especially the support from Anna, the General Manager, who helped plan a week or so ahead, and then effectively and efficiently accommodate, such a large crowd for lunch on a busy work day in midtown Manhattan. Not an easy thing to do in the middle of NYC, but Morrell's proved to be the perfect choice for the gathering. Excellent service and and a prix fixe menu varied enough to satisfy a large group.
Overall the ambiance was good, service was good, menu is always good and interesting the only complaint as usual, and I've always had the same issue is the meal plates are not filling. Place is good for socializing due to the wine list but for dinner not so great as the portions are not filling compared to the price. but the wine list is excellent probably one of the best in ten city.
Usually we love it here. It's pricey. Service was slow on this particular evening. A dish that is usually served with a wonderful sauce and ample octopus was dry and lacking in actual octopus. The wine is pricey, and the selections by the glass are lacking.
This is our first stop EVERY TIME we visit NYC! Fabulous wine and very good food. Cheese board is excellent. Wine shop next door. Love people watching when seated outside.
Had the chicken, was clearly par cooked and reheated. Was served lukewarm as were the vegetables. Sad, tourist spot
This was my first visit to Morrell wine bar and cafe and it was everything I was looking for. Very good selection of wines by the glass, great food, excellent and knowledgeable service and quiet and sophisticated ambience. My new go to lunch and wine spot when in NYC. I will be back.
Wwe ordered the cob salad and it was awful. Hardly anything but lettuce, no flavor, not even tossed, and $27.
The menu at the restaurant was limited due to kitchen renovation. Not reflected on menu posted on Open Table.
We LOVE LOVE Morrell Wine Bar. After discovering it a few years back after searching for best wines bars in NYC, we are hooked. We live in CT and try to go there every time we are in the City. We already have our next two dates planned out for the holidays.
Christian the sommelier was lovely to speak with nad was very welcoming. It was my birthday and the staff there made it very special and memorable. My husband is a wine connoisseur and thoroughly enjoyed conversing with him about different wines.
Oh by the way.....the small plates are outstanding as well
