This is a great little place, and the food was excellent!
Food very well seasoned Pizza and non tomato pasta spectacular.
Downside no real change in menu .No "specials: thus limited to repeat customers.
Waiting staff has "attitude" Consistent foe three visits!
Dining at Mora Italiano was an overall great experience. We had reservations at 6:30 and were running late. The restaurant accommodated us even with a 30 min late arrival the greeted us warmly an took our request to sit inside (it was still blistering hot in the valley at that time!). Once we were sat I took in the surrounds the cozy space reminded me of exactly dining in Italy. The inside is intimate and set up well. The service was outstanding! Our server Eugene was probably one of the best servers I have ever had. He took his time with us and gave tons of great wine and food suggestion which we took and ending up completely loving. The food was top notch (we devoured everything). Everything down to the pacing, the environment, and the service was hands down the best for any Italian place I've been to in the area. We will definitely be back. Thanks again!
Our waitress Mary was terrific and accommodating! Pizza was just okay, cold and a little burnt! Tasty but over baked!
wonderful food. nice selection, just the right amount on the plate
Small neighborhood feel; delicious food, attentive staff.
Very good food, service was very slow, as it is a new restaurant they are probably figuring it out. Waited about 10 minutes or more for water and greeting from anyone. Waived our corkage in return))
Hi Linda, Thank you for your feedback! We're very happy to hear that you enjoyed your meal. We regret that we were not able to greet you sooner, as several tables came in at one time, but we sincerely appreciate your patience. We value your patronage and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon!
Food is excellent, but corkage fee is a little high at $25/bottle.
Incredible food from the pasta to pizza to wine! I love their CACCIO E PEPE!!
The service was superb too. Highly recommend!
Thank you for your five star review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your meal. We value your patronage and look forward to serving you again soon!
My girlfriend and I showed up with a reservation and they had no tables available for us. Wait staff was rude and no one greeted us.
Great low key local spot.
The wine minimum was kind of annoying but tried to overlook since the food was really great.
Our server started out very attentively but slowly faded away as the evening progressed.
We had to wait an inordinately long time to get and pay the bill.
Really good food, only downside was that it was hard to find parking. Definitely would recommend!
The location and overall ambience are good. The food. in general was good, although not great. Unfortunately the service was was very weak which effectively left us with a low opinion. We doubtfully will ever go back.
PIZZA WAS GOOD BUT COULD HAVE USED MORE BURRATA. WAITRESS SAID ALL DISHES MADE FOR SHARING YET WHILE SHRIMP FRA DIAVALO WAS GREAT, SHARING MEANS 4 SHRIMP - NOT THREE. BRICK CHICKEN WAS GOOD, NICE WINE LIST
Thank you for your feedback! I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your brick chicken - it's my favorite. I will share your comments about the burrata and the number of shrimp with our chef. We value your patronage and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon!
Limited menu but what is there is delicious. Good wines. Not inexpensive but not over the top - Good value.
Thank you for your feedback! We delighted to hear that you enjoyed your meal. While our menu is somewhat limited, we do change it up every month, so please keep coming back to try our seasonal options. We value your patronage and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon!
Great service nice menu really good food. Dinner you can share. Scallops were out of this world beet salad was great. And Striped bass was cooked to perfection. Tiramisu was A÷÷÷÷÷÷÷ the waiter was top shelf. We will return
Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your scallops, beet salad, striped bass and tiramisu. We value your patronage and look forward to serving you again soon!
Came for dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day and had disappointing experience. Lamb chops were hard & unchewable and were returned. Our waiter
Food is very good. Service was uneven. Waited a long time for dishes, wine, and waiting for the check. Overall, I like this place and would definitely go back for the food.
Excellent food with interesting selections. Service was good.
Small place as we were aware. Patio small & crowded making somewhar noisy.
Fairly expensive but with interesting and varied food dishes & with excellent
extensive selection of wines and beers. Recommend it.
The food and the service was outstanding. The chicken dish we had was far better than a similar
one we had at a high end restaurant in Beverley Hills.
Outstanding service with great recommendations. The buratta salad and beet salad was fresh and delicious as well as the pizza
I lived in Italy for 8 years, so I'm picky about Italian food. Mora serves very good, high quality Italian with creativity and care.
A good neighborhood find with great food and good wines. A bit of a limited menu but plenty to still choose from......and service was terrific.
Great! Sommelier was very charming and knowledgeable. Food was delicious!
Our entire dinner from the appetizers to the wine to the main courses was absolutely delicious! The tri-colore salad, beet salad, pasta fra diavlo, bronzino and lamb chops were all superb! the food arrived hot and perfectly prepared and seasoned! Our new favorite Italian restaurant in the Valley!
The food was wonderful , we love the pasta w a peppercrust and the Ribeye steak was sooo tender.
The service was great and the they pick a wonderful wine for us.
Very quaint bistro atmosphere. Solid food preparation and the rib eye was superb - menu is little limited but think it may expand - the Shrimp fra Diavolo was very well prepared. Tiramisu was outstanding - $150 per couple easy parking
Our favorite Italian food spot in the Valley. Food is absolutely incredible. The pasta is fresh, seasoning is on point, and a fantastic wine selection. A true hidden gem!
Decent food and good service. Very small tables for two making you feel that you needed to put the bread plate on your knee. Good wine list at fair prices.
I've driven by this place multiple times and finally had the time to go for dinner. I was very happy and you'll be very happy that you have dinner there. Food was tremendous, the service was great. I'm not a wine guy, but it looks like they have a big selection. No liquor which I what I usually have with a fine dinner. It might not look like much from the outside, but it's got it where it counts!
Best cacio e pepe
The service was a bit slow, but they are really just working out the kinks of this new establishment. The food was incredible, the new design is traditional with a bit of a modern flair and the staff was incredibly friendly. We will be going back for sure.
Great food, very romantic ambiance, staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations on food and wine
It was a bit disappointing after reading all the good reviews. Our pasta came out very lukewarm and we had to send it back to the kitchen. After we ate our appetizer, they DID NOT offer to give us fresh plates to eat our entrée on. Really! We had to ask. The food was good. But don't ask for anything different. The menu is set. No changes. We may go back to try the pizza.
Food was outstanding. Beet carpaccio, margarita pizza, cauliflower appetizer and scallop appetizer. Delicious wine. Only negative is that the restaurant is very dark and you cannot see the beautiful food
Very good Italian food in a small strip mall in Encino. Friendly service. Excellent pizza.
The most difficult aspect of this incredible restaurant is finding it and parking. Parked just to the right of a much larger eatery (Coral Tree Cafe) this is one of the finest meals I've ever had. The menu is not huge, but every dish we had was seasoned and cooked to perfection. If you're fortunate enough to get there in time, you must try the Branzino. It's the entire fish, bones in, cooked in butter, lemon and herbs. Absolutely melts in your mouth. My favorite dish was the Cacio E Pepe. If you are a pasta lover, you'll absolutely love this dish. A combination of bucatini (Large Spaghetti-like noodle) mixed with a parmesan reggiano and freshly cut crushed pepper. The flavor is spectacular, and it is served in an usual style, twisted together like a giant rope. Topped off with perfectly cooked Broccolini in a chili, lemon and garlic sauce with a small dollop o watercress pesto, it tops off this wonderful meal perfectly. This is not your typical Italian Restaurant and a dining gift to us all. Don't miss Mora Italiano!!!
Food and service are pretty good but prices are a bit too much for the restaurant that caliber
We went when it first opened and were disappointed but because it is near our home, after a few months, we tried it again. No better. Pizza was not hot--indeed, approaching cold. Waiter (who appeared to also be in charge) was indifferent at best.
I ordered butter lettuce salad and asked if it was all butter lettuce (it had not been the last time). He said he would do that if I wanted it but it is better if mixed with other lettuce. When I pointed out that menu only said "butter lettuce" and anything else would not be in accord with the truth in menu law, he became even more unpleasant.
Photos on wall are wonderful, and he sound track is great. Unfortunately one must eat as well.
