We enjoyed an outstanding Dinner for our Anniversary. Our waiter was very attentive and educational about the cuts of meat we chose. Our wine glasses were never empty, nor was our water. The menu was thoroughly explained to and any questions answered. It is a larger restaurant, so there is always going to be some noise, but who wants to eat at restaurant without diners. Well done, we thoroughly enjoyed the night.
The best steak and pork belly we have ever had! The bread rolls for entree were amazing as well!
Enjoyable evening with a very friendly and likeable waiter. The food was divine and there was a great selection of wines on offer. We will definitely be back!
Had an amazing time- it was my mums 50th birthday and the restaurant made it very special and the food was unreal. Thank you!
Great service from Scott. Steak was a little cold even though it was cooked to medium. Carrots were not cooked properly
The food was excellent and Scotty the waiter was most helpful. The noise level was a high making casual conversation a little difficult. Overall the experience was great and we shall return.
Took my mum out for lunch for her birthday. The food was amazing and the service was fabulous. Nickol our waiter was just great. He really looked after us and made the lunch more special. We will be back.
Have eaten @ Moo Moo before and enjoyed the service and ambience
I was disappointed in my $70 Dry Aged Rib Eye
I have had it before and enjoyed it
Meat whilst nicely cooked, was fatty and lacked flavour
Otherwise an enjoyable evening
I just found it really disappointing that we booked so far in advance and got seated a table right next the front entrance. My partner and I could hardly hear each other talk and made our dinning experience not as enjoyable.
Disappointed with were we seated but the food was absolutely delicious!
This is our second visit to moomoo bar and it was just as great the second time around
Friendly staff, great service and amazing food!!
The food & service was excellent. A warm & friendly reception with an introduction to our waiter as we arrived. Our waiter was a bit short of experience but he made up for it with a great personality & doing his absolute best! I prefer the service of someone who is really trying their best.
The food & wine offered were fantastic, we could not have enjoyed it more.
It was a big mistake that we had a dinner at MooMoo. The most expensive Wagyu steaks ($90 and $89) we chose from their menu were the worst ones we ever had in our life (Japan, US, Europe and Gold Coast). Also, it was really strange that the steaks were served alone with source but no asides at all like potato. We mentioned to the waiter (Nick?) that the steaks were really bad taste, the worst steak and the most expensive. Then he asked for some tip on the bill. We were so surprised what he asked.
The atmosphere was ok, it was busy for a Monday evening, I felt the food was overpriced for what it was, the steak was pretty average considering the hype. I felt like we weren't given the best service, people around us were getting shown meats and while we were deciding our waitress never offered to show us the cuts of meat which I didn't realise we was able to do. Our sides were under-seasoned too, we had mushrooms which just tasted like they were soaked in red wine and a very bland coleslaw. The only good thing were the chips in truffle oil! The cocktails were nice and presented pretty well. Probably won't return to spend $200 on just mains and 2 drinks though
Amazing steak, fantastic service. Would highly recommend!
Highly recommend! Absolutely delicious steak. Truly the best steaks ever eaten. What surprises are the exquisite side dishes such as truffle fries, chopped salad and shredded cabbage... The service is what transports this restaurant into heavenly though. Nick and Nicole always ensure the customer is made to feel really welcome and together with the superbly professional staff such as Anthony, Pierre, Lee and David make the evening an event to remember!
I enjoyed our meal recently I did think however that it was a little too loud and was hard to hear our guests at the table and the lighting was a little dark also to read the menu and eating the food, other than those issues lovely as usual.
Love the steaks which were cooked to near perfection and service was great. Looking forward to the next meal there
Service was ok. When we got there they were confused about the booking and looked like they stuffed it up. Once they got that in order we were seated and recommended the mix plate. I can’t remember the exact name of the menu item but essentially it was what we were told 2 of there best steaks for approx $70 for a total of 280g there abouts. The round steak was tender and tasty, but the other one was tough and very average. Which is what makes me doubt it was their second best steak. If the price wasn’t so expensive I wouldn’t be so picky, but since it’s expensive it better live up to the price and for me it really didn’t. I was left hungry at the end of it and seriously considered pulling by the drive through on the way home. This is despite ordering sides and desert. Portions are way too small.
I often have dinner Moo Moo Brisbane.
Honestly, I felt service was further difference from Brisbane.
No one brought water for our daughter, I asked 2 staffs. Finally, third staff gave a glass of water for our daughter. for Especially, a senior white hair guy said “ one seconds” , however he had never brought water and just chatting his colleagues.
Using the restaurant for the dinner with family would be OK, but I can’t use it for business.
Finally, meals were wonderful same as Moo Moo Brisbane.
Everything was fabulous. Had the best lunch ever $49 fir 2 courses and a glass of wine. Wow
Came in at 8:30pm with most tables finished their meals. Ordered 1 medium rare sirlon and 1 medium wagyu, but had to wait for 45 minutes for the steaks to be served. To add more to the disappointment, the chefs (or the waiter) messed up our meals, I’ve got a medium sirlon (orders for medium rare) and my partner got a medium rare wagyu (supposed to be medium). Due to the long wait, we just couldn’t be bothered to ask for a change or anything. As of the steaks, nothing was noted to be special but overly priced. Spent 160 for 2 steaks and 1 desert, not worth for a second visit.
Scallops not so good (rubbery), steak was wonderful, onion rings and fries subpar - especially, and this is where a quality restaurant should shine, is that the oils used in the sauce for onion ring or one of the many sides was very vegetable oil/canola oil-esque. So everyone had a tummy ache. Stick with the steak and everything will be good - although one order of medium rare was rare and the other medium rare was in fact a perfect medium rare. So could work on the consistency.
Food is fabulous along with the service. Always enjoy going with only one but this time. The music was too loud and we had to leave early because it gave us both headaches. Will be back with ear plugs next time 😀
Excellent food great wine always wirth the visit when in town
Music was too loud to have a conversation and despite the request to turn it down a little was advised that it is a restaurant bar and the music would not be turned down. Steaks were disappointing - tough although tasty was hard to cut even with a steak knife. Waiter was attentive and service was good - but overall a disappointing visit - last visited this place two years ago and it was outstanding so disappointed that it seems to have gone down hill - will not be revisiting.
We booked here well ahead of our trip away for a special dinner. There was a large group standing at the bar. They were young men who we worked out were celebrating an eighteenth birthday..... unfortunately we were sat beside them.
Our booking was for 8.00 pm. It was very difficult to have a conversation and we decided what to eat and drink by shouting at each other. When we looked at the menu and saw the pricing and the standard of food it was very difficult to understand why you would entertain such a rowdy crowd of young men and expect your dining patrons to have an enjoyable evening. We asked our waiter if there was any chance of moving us he replied "no folks we are full and they have been here all afternoon and there was absolutely nothing he could do. Perhaps even a kinder word from him would have been reassuring. In any event we only had to put up with them for another hour. We did loved the food....
TLDR: if you are not worried about “interesting” service, the way your food is cooked, wrong drink and just eager to have rare meat at any cost while waiting for more than an hour - that’s the place! just don’t forget to book prior!
- wrong wine from what was ordered - changed
- wrong soft drink - changed
- steak was more like rare instead of medium (no juice, pure red meat of more than 3 cm) - acknowledged by manager, who offered «to put back on bbq», rejected as it already took 1,25 hours to “cook” and it would also dry the meat
- kids meal (chicken with mashed) was brought in 1,5 hours after the order, and 15 mins after main meals of adults
- asked for a take away box as we had 1kg steak for 2 ppl, had a few juicy pieces left and it would be a shame just to throw it away - HUGE UNEXPECTED ISSUE - we were told that it’s against the license (what?!!!), then that it’s against the law, we asked to explain which AU or QLD law is that and asked what if we take the food using napkin - acknowledged that there is an internal rule (stated as “internal law”) by the owner!!! with lots of inappropriate phrases (e.g. “just give him whatever, any plate”, “it’s an internal law”, “what do you want me to do?”, “it’s not possible to speak to the owner at any time”) by both managers. Got the plastic box in the end. There is also a smallest possible print on the menu that states that “due to QLD health + safety regulations all meals are to be consumed on the premises”. It’s a pure lie! There is no such law or regulation by QLD authorities!
It’s a shame for anyone to lie to their clients!!
- all waiters looked like in a huge hurry with lots of constant stress, Saturday night, yet it was too obvious and not making good impression.
- $300 bill (for 2 cold entrees, 1 shared 1kg signature main for $140+, 1 wine $80, 3 non-alcoholic drinks and 1 kids meal) is not correlated with the above mentioned service issues and our personal expectations of fine dining restaurant
Sadly overpriced and had better meat at the local pub.
On the night before I turn 54 years of age I can attest to having had the best steak at Moo Moo restaurant. I would encourage others to not so long, and go often.
Wow - what an amazing experience! My husband has very high end taste when it comes to steak and he said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had and he is 60. The service was incredible - so welcoming and attentive. The vibe in this restaurant is definitely unique - like cool club meets upscale steakhouse.
Quality and service were exceptional. The variety is wide and explanations provided by staff are detailed.
Another amazing time for us at Moo Moo, we love it there and the staff are always so awesome
Perfect meal for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. Glad we booked a 6.30pm seating though because the noise level increased considerably by 8pm. It was a Saturday night on the busy Gold Coast so it was expected. Overall we were extremely pleased and had a fantastic night. Have already recommended the restaurant to friends.
Too loud, too drunk and hopelessly disordered. While staff tried to control unruly groups (it was a Friday night) they failed! The mood was partly nightclub or pick up joint saved only for a delicious steak. Very hard to recommend.
We had a fantastic experience at Moo Moo. Nick was our server and he was excellent. Everything he recommended was outstanding. If you love a great steak go to Moo Moo. You won’t be disappointed
Fantastic experience, thoroughly recommend. It was expensive but you get what you pay for.
Great service and excellent meal options backed up by fantastic chefs
One of the best steaks i have ever had, we all ended up having the wagyu rump cap and it was melt in your mouth goodness. The sides that we got were all great too, the carrots, the fries, the roasted mashed potato. The onion rings and the rocket salad. Could not complain about any of the food. The service was very good as well.
Superb service and the best steaks on earth - no exaggeration.
