The anticipation of being at this usually fabulous vegetarian restaurant was followed by a little disappointment on this occasion. Perhaps there is a new chef? The eggplant was unrecognisable as eggplant and over smoked. The nasi goreng was extremely salty. Luckily we had also ordered fries which were excellent. Service was pleasant but lacked attention to detail. The mineral water was warm and the glass of champagne almost flat. Both were happily replaced when requested. Hopefully this was just an off night and we can look forward to a better experience next time.

We had a lovely experience at the Truffle Night. Our server Erica was incredible and so lovely. We learnt so much from the Manager/Sommelier. Wonderful night!

After having Monster Bar on my list for a long time, I was really disappointed. Firstly it wasn’t made clear at all that the booking I made wasn’t actually not in the restaurant but in the lobby come bar area. I wasn’t able to get a booking until 3.15pm which for lunch seems excessively late? There was only one solitary young lady doing all the serving and a lot of male staff walking around looking too important to attend to us. The wait to have our order taken was unreasonably long, some of our meal finally arrived but no drinks that we had ordered. first. When I asked the person serving about this they said that they would follow it up. The wine finally arrived another 15 minutes later which would have been 3/4 hr after we arrived. Some of the food was nice but to be honest $279 was a lot to pay for a bottle of wine and what were mostly bar snacks in a cafe/bar/lobby environment. I think Monster Bar needs to lift their game and also inform people when the restaurant isn’t open that they are booking a different area! The wait times are ridiculous if your food service is slow at least attend to people’s drinks when they arrive.
