Service and waiters/waitresses were very professional.
I have always want to try Momofuku for years and try the delicious pork dish at the very end. I guess I was too excited to try Momofuku. Unfortunately they changed their menu recently and no longer serve the pork dish that I had always wanted to try.
Marron, xo sauce and crab curry rice were the highlight.
We didn’t really like the plantain/banana and also the excessive use of coconut on a number of dishes in the 10 course tasting menu. For the mango + prawn dish (as per the menu distributed at the end), there wasn’t any prawns besides slices of mango with pepper/spice. Not really sure how a few slices of mango can be part of the degustation menu. We find the menu mostly focused on soft and purée food and only had one meat dish (i.e. wagyu brisket).
It was very sweet of the restaurant to provide us a complimentary dessert to celebrate my birthday. Thank you.
Absolutely amazing, the service and quality of thr food was impeccable. We will definitely go back there.
Exquisite. Unique. Extraordinary. These are some of the few words i would use to describe the experience.
Outstanding food and service - the flavours were amazing, so hard to pick a favourite, they were all perfect!
Service and food was 10/10. It's our 3rd time back and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
For anyone who loves the real momofuku experience from NYC, like Ko this is a very disappointing sham. Shame David Chang leases his name to Caribbean food. I booked on the momofuku name, but didn't check the menu, so am to blame. Don't go here if you have been to NYC.
Maybe it’s the cultural difference, The dishes overall are fairly salty unfortunately. Limited cocktail to offer (only 4), the pairing drinks however are delightful and nice.
Couldn't be faulted. Food and service was exceptional
Celebrating my partner's birthday and we loved it so much. He's a difficult person to please on tasting menu but he enjoyed this so much. Flavors are good amd the sommeliers provided their professional advice on wine selection. Great service and they provided us an extra dessert for my partner's birthday celebration. Will definately return!!
Absolutely incredible dining experience. Such a warm atmosphere, and the staff's knowledge was amazing
My partner and I celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful time. They ensured that his dietary requirements were thoughtfully adhered to (despite having to alter the degustation to accomodate this) and acknowledged the occasion throughout our dining experience.
Exceptional from start to finish.
The service was outstanding! I will say it was a bit difficult to find but had a great experience. 11/12 dishes were fantastic but one of the dishes was way to salty.
Love it! Lovely food, good service and environment. Particilar impressed by crab curry rice and the potato dish with the fish thing!
I felt deceived, a noisy bar with a few tables, half of the courses were bland, the other half, better but not worth that kind of money, the wine pairings ridiculous. White wine from Georgia? Diluted vinegar:(. $250 Australian dollars per person ( $200 USD) for mediocre food in a lousy environment. Even half that would be too much.
I don’t know how they got 4 star reviews, I can only speculate... DON’T waste your evening here...
The food was both exciting and full of flavour. Well-presented dishes with a menu that's excellently thought out. The maron was a stand-out. Would definitely come back again for more.
It was my lunar birthday that day, and they gave me a special little cake that I’m so grateful for! The service and the atmosphere is so good!
Wonderful, lot of surprise and experience. One of a kind!!
Damn. That was crazy. It was a theatre, a gastronomical show that reminded the diners why they deserve three chef hats. Was a big fan of the reduced pairing option, it made a lot of sense; practical yet still very versatile with beverages choices and its delicious pairings. Being from Melbourne and being familiar with the likes of Ishizuka and Attica, I definitely see why this David Chang joint can give these guys a run for their money a constantly exceed expectations on why they're still one of the best restaurants in Australia. 💯🔥
The whole experience overall was very good. I have never had Barbadian cuisine before so the entire 13 course tasting menu was a barrage of new flavour experience after another! Unfortunately there was one slight hickup where a hair was found in one of my friend's earlier courses which slightly ruined the entire experience for her. The staff were very quick to take care of it promptly replaced the dish and compensated one of our drinks. I would have loved to know about the Barbadian influences of the dishes as well as where the ingredients themselves were sourced.
Brilliantly interesting flavours which was refreshing for a fine dining restaurant in Sydney. Great service and nice to watch dishes being prepared as well as general kitchen dynamics. Thank you for a lovely birthday meal.
The service was excellent, the food was good but I was expecting more.
A really amazing meal in a very relaxed and engaging environment. Seated at the bar which meant lots of interaction with the chefs as well as the wait staff. Enjoyed a series of really delicious and innovative dishes which were presented with description by serving staff happy to engage and answer questions. Great reduced matching drinks, which I certainly would not have chosen , so great to try new things. This is fine dining with a relaxed attitude - fingers involved too! Excellent staff and sommelier. A really great night out
The foods were great, the service was also very good. The desserts were wonderful, best panna cotta I have ever had. Staff were friendly and helpful. One dish was firing hot, the chef did mention Habanero but I didn't pick it up. It nearly killed me.
We loved our diner at Momofuku! The food was absolutely beautiful (presentation, taste) and the wine was delicious and explained by a very passionate man that just wanted to share the wines he selects and loves. All of this served in a great atmosphere where you feel comfortable.
A very good experience overall. We were celebrating a birthday and while we did request seating at the bar, this wasn’t provided, very disappointing.
This was my second time at Momofuku and they have cemented their place as one of my favourite fine dining restaurants.
They are well priced, the service is exceptional and the food is as you’d expect.
Third meal here since it opened and easily the best. There is a confidence and flow to the food that is unmatched anywhere in Sydney.
This is a restaurant at the top of its game and the 1-2 punch of rundown and ducana is worth the price alone. Beverage has improved since last visit as well.
Flawless although surprising not to see the head chef on a Saturday night?
We had a fantastic time at this restaurant! The wait staff were brilliant from the beginning. We felt welcome and the layout of the restaurant gives a very inclusive vibe. We thoroughly enjoyed our entree, having to purée our own food! Such a fun way to start off the night.
It was really nice that the chefs would all come and explain the meals, and it was clear that all the staff knew exactly what was happening. They could sub in and out at any time.
There were a couple of standout dishes that were quite phenomenal, especially the Ducana.
Unfortunately we didn’t really enjoy the sea urchin but that’s probably more a reflection on our palate rather than the dish. To their credit, without us mentioning anything they even offered to replace it with a vegetarian option. We politely declined in order to leave room for the other courses, but the gesture was really appreciated!
All in all it was a great evening and it’s a great culinary experience all round. Thank you to the chefs and wait staff.
Laid back atmosphere and very busy team preparing the food. All dishes featured multi ingredients in small portions. Good wine advice. I liked the dumpling dish and the roti bread the most. The marron was perfectly cooked but did not have a strong taste. Likewise the crab was not very 'crabby', rather bland. It's good to go once but would not say that the food was memorable.
The foods so salty and who ever do the matching wine with the food not good , so sweet most of the wine and it’s not worth the money
Food was over spiced, not worth the price. Poor wine list and small selection of liquor/drinks
This was the second time we had dined there and it was an early Valentines I absolutely LOVE the food this place creates. Every mouthful is bursting with layers of flavour and sensational texture. I loved the crab rice, the roti is to die for. I wasn’t so keen on the sauce that accompanied the black marrons as prefer them chargrilled with just lemon and pepper. The palate cleanser between savoury and sweet was out of this world. The BEST thing I’ve ever tasted, a sublime mix of smooth silky sago with a zingy citrus hit and the textural crunch of the ice just made your tastebuds come alive. My husband on the other hand wasn’t quite as blown away. He feels you need an option of two ‘mains’ like they do at Quay. He hates having to get seafood out of any shell and the messiness and time taken for him to do this with the marrons spoilt it for him. He loved the Wagu beef dish which I also thought was amazing. The service is exceptional but I’m not hugely wrapped in the setting, the tables are too big for two and make conversation difficult having to turn at an odd angle and I don’t like sitting at a bar to eat my dinner. My husband liked the wine list. Overall though I love this place and the staff are so lovely. I enjoy watching them in the open kitchen. It is expensive but worth it for the experience I feel.
A fantastic experience- great selection of food and wonderful service.
Great dining experience, particularly when seated at the kitchen bar. Very creative food prepared theatrically however, marred at times by heavy handed use of Caribbean spices masking the local fresh ingredients, particularly seafood.
Overall a very memorable evening.
Interesting Caribbean inspired menu , great food and quite different to your usual fine dining fare. Excellent drink pairings.
Overall, the food was mediocre. The biggest letdown was the fact that my girlfriend and I struggled to finish a few of the dishes because of how overly salty the chef had made them. There is a difference between "flavourful" and too salty...
I can see that the chefs were tasting the food (probably to ensure the flavours were on point, which is a good thing), but I'm not sure if they countered in the fact that we, as diners were eating a much larger portion than a teaspoon of it to "taste-test".
Loved everything from the moment we walked in we were impressed by the food and knowledge that momokuku was. We loved our waiter knew everything and answered all our questions we will be back!
Amazing attention to detail, we enjoyed the 12 course tasting menu with full beverage pairing. Truly one of the most enjoyable meals I've had in both recent and long term memory. Both the food and the drinks work amazingly well together, clearly paired with great care and consideration. The staff are beyond fantastic, genuinely adding to the meal to create a complete dining experience. I cannot recommend Seiōbo highly enough, a fantastic way for us to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, and definitely not the last time we will be back.
Absolutely fabulous dining experience. We loved every minute of our time there, excellent service and food and each course was fully explained as it was served. Would thoroughly recommend this dining experience to anyone
