Modo Mio - Crown Perth Ratings and Reviews
Whilst we enjoyed our overall experience, we weren't blown away.
The service was good and the restaurant presented well.
In terms of the food, two of my friends ordered pasta, and said it was only OK. I ordered the ocean trout, and found it really tasty. The skin could have been crispier in some places.
For dessert, we tried the Mango Semi-Freddo, the tiramisu and the panna cotta. The semi-freddo was light, refreshing and beautifully presented. The tiramisu and pannacotta were both quite rich.
Not enough space for me to write it all so excuse the very direct points to follow. Please bear in mind they label themselves as an 'authentic fine dining' Italian restaurant
- For the $ paid, the food is only ok.
- Staff have great personalities
- Poor dress code (people in hoodies and surf labelled t-shirts)
- Red wine served in white wine glasses
- Limoncello for dessert served in a tumbler on the rocks, should be in a shot glass straight.
Hardly an 'authentic fine dining' Italian restaurant
The staff were very attentive and welcoming. However we were disappointed with the quality of the food on this occasion.
Having dined here previously with the food being of much higher quality, we were a little disappointed that the food when delivered at the table was lukewarm and the quality of the taste appeared much lower than previously experienced.
Hopefully just a bad night as we would go again as know the quality can be much higher.
the service for drink refills is extremely slow, this is the second time i've been there and it was the same both visits. i wasn't drinking alcohol and getting a water refill was just as difficult/annoying as my partner trying to order another beer. i thought going a second time would give another chance but i won't be returning.
I came on the weekend for my cousins birthday dinner, we all loved our food. We just wish our mains would have come about about 10-15minutes later as we were still having our entree when they were brought out and we just needed a bit of time for our stomachs to settle before the next meal
Not a large venue but perfect. We had booked for 8:30, the restaurant was packed, thought my food might have taken awhile to be served...wow within 10-15mins our entree was out. Food lovely, portions perfect, lovely feel to the venue. Loved every minute of it!
The reason I rated Mondo Mio Good for Value and not outstanding is simply because of your policy to charge a surcharge Fee when paying using a Credit Card. I find this to be usury. Can I afford to pay the fee, certainly, that is not an issue, the menu pricing is already making allowance for these overheads.
I have been put off by this impost.
Dinner for two on a special occasion was relaxed, private and enjoyable with excellent table service and quiet evening ambience. Menu choices were varied and covered all palates. Wine list was extensive, albeit with some very expensive "by the bottle" choices.
Dinner was a special treat for my daughter. We were worried when we first arrived as I couldn't see anything on the menu she would eat. The waitress advised me that the chef could do spag bog or ham and cheese pizza for her. Also she loved the garlic bread.
