MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill
My first time since the renovations, our bartender was great! A few new items on the menu. Really enjoyed our apps, dinner and desert.
They offer meatball special on Monday. The chef should learn how to make sauce for the meatballs and pasta. The meatballs were fine the sauce tasted like ketchup and barbecue sauce mixed together. The chef better fix his recipe fast or meatball Mondays will fail. Other wise The pub has always been a great place to eat. Sorry we tried the meatball Monday special.
My French onion soup was delicious. my iceberg wedge was OK, did not like the bacon they threw on it and the dressing was OK.
Jim ordered Ribeye, medium rare. Came out medium well. The waiter, Scott, who was very good, brought it back and had them do another. It came out medium, not good, twice. Jim kept it and ate it but they took it off the bill which was great but still, twice, overcooked.
The people who work here are great, food is better elsewhere.
Sunday prime rib special is great. Would come again.
We had a great meal here today. The garlic bread was fab! The sliders were delicious.,,,,,,everything we had was very good!
Mostly good. We were seated quickly and hostess was pleasant. Wait staff a little less so although efficient. We got our drinks quickly but she never checked back to see if we needed more and I would have appreciated some water. It was busy. My husband’s burger was very good but my prime rib French dip wasn’t. Mushy roll unseasoned au jus and regular roast beef not prime rib! We liked the vibe so we’ll give it another try at least.
Great service, delicious steak!
UCONN women’s Basketball Game
Food was great. Service was great. Renovation took out middle televisions which is a negative as sitting at back of booths you have no view of key games. Jordan merchandise removed from walls in renovation as well. The old setup was perfect. Renovation made it worse.
BBQ spring rolls were good; entrees would not order again
Noise level was up there and restaurant was not packed
We ate at the sports bar right before the Lumineers concert. The place was packed but with open table it was really easy to get a reservation and they took us right in. The manager stop by at one point during the evening just to see how our meal was and how our service was. Our waitress was terrific as were the other way to waitresses willing to lend a hand When we needed silverware. Overall great experience! We have the garlic bread which was unbelievably delicious, chicken Caesar salad which was also terrific and the ribs entrée. It was definitely more than enough food for two people as my daughter and I split both the salad and the ribs. The restaurant was even so kind as to bring things out on two separate plates for us. We will definitely be back and it was super convenient to go from there straight over to the arena for the concert.
Great food choices and a lively atmosphere. Great service.
delicious food- the lobster roll and Mac and cheese are a must
We were there at 5:15pm for a dinner party of 6. We were put into a booth that was very cramped and due to the number of people waiting there were no options to move us to a normal size table. I would have expected for an advanced reservation we would have been allocated a table instead of being so cramped. The noise level was off the charts and we could not have any normal conversation at the table even as cramped as we were. So we ordered and ate and left as soon as we could. We have eaten here many times before and never experienced noise at this level. I would recommend going at off hours to avoid this in future. Overall our experience this time was below average.
We only waited about 5 mins to be seated. Were immediately greeted by our server/waiter. Food was delicious and didn’t take long to come out.
The food was delicious, I got the salmon sandwich which was cooked perfectly! My husband got the 32 oz steak and he said it was perfectly cooked as well...a little pricey but worth it. This is definitely more of a sports bar and it was very loud as we were seated right next to the bar. It was fine for our night out, but if you are looking for more intimate this is not the place. Service was great and drinks were great!
Menu had a nice variety from apps to sandwiches to entrees. There was a little something for everyone. Food and drinks were very good. Our waitress was excellent. Definitely recommend reservations.
We were seated on time. The food was great. Service was fantastic. Great time!
We were seated at a remote one-off table near the side entrance to the MJ Steakhouse and the ramp to the restroom area. We would have preferred to sit in the main dining room, among other diners, not separately in an alcove. The Service and Food were both very good, otherwise.
Food was excellent and so was the service. Amanda Marshall is the best manager ever!
Dod was very disappointing. Coke was flat. Served to us twice. Nachos nothing to write home about. Turkey club small for the price we paid. Onion soup salty. Lobster roll not worth $18. Bill was $150 for 4 people Ridiculous
We had the garlic bread as usual and it was hard as a rock.
Also indulged in a couple $15 Bloody Marys which arrived in a smaller than usual glass?
Had the filet which came with onion rings which were dripping in grease and also hard as a rock. They could’ve passed for leftovers from lunch just reheated.
All in all great food - but when dropping $150+ for dinner I’d expect the quality to be closer to the steakhouse next door, which it usually is.
Restaurant was recently updated very nicely. Service is always excellent! Their menu has something for everyone at very good pricing and quality. Highly recommend for casual dining in the casino.
Niceforo was a great server and helped make my brothers birthday memorable!!
