Great steak and sides. Our waiter was new but very professional with loads of experience. Great vibe with the tavern downstairs. Highly recommend.

Another "Go-To" for business meals. I rank it as one of the best Steak Houses in CBD Melbourne, with a great old world charm in the restaurant.

Fantastic food, good quiet atmosphere, good selections of beers/wines, great customer focus and priced well given how nice the food was. Steak's consumed were both cooked to perfection and warm bread upon arrival was fresh.
The Mitre Tavern has always been a favourite of mine, though strangely I have rarely eaten there. I had never been to the upstairs Steak House and was impressed with the room, especially the cathedral like roof. Didn't try a steak this time but am determined to select one from the 2 pages of steaks next time I dine there.
The steak was heavenly and cooked just what I ordered (I found Australia restaurants tend to overcook, so this is gold). Juicy and tender. Cosy settings. Amazing experience!
The steak here is great, and all the sides we had were really good. Good wine choice (pricy but we didn't mind that). The environment is great, and the staff were faultless. We liked it a lot.
We celebrate my husband's birthday with our children and partners. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and the feedback from our mid-late 20-year-olds was that they too enjoyed the night.

The food is consistently high quality and the overall experience is good enough to ensure I prefer the Mitre Tavern over a multitude of high profile establishments on a regular basis.
Would have preferred a few more authentic gluten free options as a celiac dining in this restaurant.
