We enjoyed our meal at the Mission! The place was packed after a game, but servers did a good job of trying to keep up with everyone.
We had to wait 20 minutes for our table but our bus girl was super nice and the food was good!
Food wasn’t hot enough, pork was dry, glass was very dirty :/
Loud and pricy. Food was okay. Heard place had a lot of hype. Bit of a let down. Bathrooms unclean and elevator broke
It was a great place for brunch. Would highly recommend.
Elevator was broken so we couldnt eat bc I am in a wheelchair
We went to Mission to celebrate National Margarita Day. Me and one other person got there a few minutes late because we just couldn’t find the place. Once we got there, the place was packed! Even though we had a reservation (which I’m so glad we did) we still had to wait a few minutes for our table. Once we got seated and settled down a bit, the waitress finally came over, gave us water and took our order. There were so many people in there, we thought it would take a while to get our drinks but we received our pitchers of margaritas and food rather quickly. We did wait a little while on the nachos and they were a bit cold by the time we got them but overall, everything was good.
Hip place. Nice decor, good service and food was very tasty.
I reserved a table for brunch on Sunday for a rather large group, and we couldn't have been treated better. The service was impeccable. Our waitress refilled our chips/guac and pitchers of bottomless drinks before we even had a chance to ask. She and another staff member were incredibly attentive. My food was delayed just a little bit, but they both came over to check on me, apologize for the wait, and assure that the meal would be out shortly. The portions were generous, and I really enjoyed my breakfast burrito. The mimosas were blended well and not too sweet (you could tell there was actually champagne in there). The margarita I tried was strong and had a nice flavor--they really didn't skimp on the tequila. We were only supposed to have our table for 2 hours, but we ended up staying for 3 and no one tried to shoo us out. Overall this was a great experience! I would highly recommend Mission for your next brunch adventure.
Their food used to be really good when they first opened this location, but this last time everything we ate was really really salty. I'm not sure what has changed. I always considered this the superior Mission to the one in Dupont. Now I'd say their the same. Drinks and guacamole were still on point though!
I brought my colleagues here for our supervisors birthday. There was an event happening so we were placed in the back. In a corner. By the wait staff. We couldn’t hear each other talking. The noise was beyond too loud. It was a bit disappointing, considering how much I bragged about the place to my coworkers because I’ve been so many times and it was great. Maybe if we were informed ahead of time of a huge event, we probably would’ve chosen another location and came back another time. Overall the food was tasty, the drinks we ok and the waiters were nice.
went for a birthday brunch. we waited 30 mins for a table we had reserved, but other than that it was good!
The service was really terrible. Also, the time limit for bottomless is so short but the waitress came by so infrequently it was just a waste of money. The "bottomless" chips and guac also took so long to replenish it was not at all bottomless. Overall just not a good experience - would definitely not recommend.
Way too loud, fun bar experience, I don’t think I’d go back for dinner though. Maybe during the day.
Great brunch spot because of bottomless margs, something I rarely see! We made a reservation for 6 and picked this location assuming it would be more lowkey which was not the case. This is a very active place on the weekend. Unfortunately, they didn't honor the reservations and were backed up with large parties who did not want to leave.
Although this was beyond their control, the bottomless time should be more strictly enforced because many other patrons along with our group were upset we had to wait much longer than our reservation.
Overall, food and margs were amazing. Service was a little slow and server seemed inexperienced so he couldn't answer some of our questions and was not as attentive as we would've liked. However, I'd definitely come back or recommend to a friend if I was in the area.
Went for brunch with 10, had reservation and hostess advised our party had sat. Went to look for party and no one was there, hostess gave away our table to another party. She said that it would be 15/20 mins so we agreed to wait at the bar and ordered some pictures to keep everyone from leaving. 45 mins later nothing from the hostess, I asked to speak with the manager working Sunday Jan 19th, who said he wasn’t made aware of the problem and offered to fix it. Almost 90 mins after we had our reservation we were sat in the private room in the back, drinks were supplied regularly as well as multiple plates of chips/guacamole. We did not have to wait long for food orders and everything was timely.
Thankful for the GM and Manger who fixed a problem and took care of the customers!!
Way too loud to hold a conversation. But the food was great and if we just wanted to watch a game, it would have been fine.
My husband was told that the host said they were closed fully “committed” meaning there was no room/tables and to find space at the bar (at 5:30). So he went on Open Table and made a reservation for 30 mins later. When we were seated, unfortunately we were seated in a bad spot next to the server station that had constant banging. Our server was good and tried hard but unfortunately the bar made bad drinks and the food was cold and not great.
The bartender (female blonde) was not amused that she had to help us. Ummm, hello, if it were not for us, you wouldn't have a job! She clearly didn't want to be there and practically threw the check down in front of us. The food was good although my chicken enchiladas were lukewarm at best.
The food was not as good as other Mission locations. Service was somewhat slow for a bottomless brunch. They do have great margaritas and drinks.
Mission Navy Yard used to be one of our go to spots for consistently good, fresh, Mexican-inspired food. (The Navy Yard Fajitas — my tried and *always* true.) However, our stop to grab a bite for my birthday this past Saturday was a truly disappointing experience as we found all those fresh flavors lacking beyond belief. After inquiry, our server explained menu items had “changed”; those changes meant the mouthwatering Arrachera Steak & Piggy Al Pastor fajita platters arriving to our table were replaced with lackluster piles of dry, finely minced beef and unrecognizable carnitas. Simply put: Nothing looked pretty tasted the same. The food was so disappointing and inedible that we reordered other menu items for dinner. No visit to the table by a manager given the special occasion and issues — just free tequila shots to forget the experience. Happy Birthday! : (

Server excellent and patient.
Unfortunately very poor service. We received our food before ever getting silverware. I had to walk over to the bar to get my own silverware. Server never brought our second round of cocktails ordered. Food was okay, but the service ruined our dinner.
Mission Navy Yard is probably better for pre-game drinks and apps than food. Our server was slow to get us going and than swapped out w/o introducing who was taking over. The chips and guacamole were fine. My burrito - "piggy al pastor" - was a huge hunk of pork in a sticky flour tortilla without much else inside. Other folks said their tacos were fine. Adios Mission...
The WORST! It took over 2 hours to get our food, and then it was messed up upon arrival. We asked the manager for an update on the status of our food after an hour, and he didn’t even bother coming back to tell us. We also had to bus our own plates. Don’t go!
Service was slow. The food was not good. I wouldn’t go back. Disappointed
We were seated promptly. It took 20 mins for the server to take our drinks order. It took an additional 10-15 mins to get our drinks. Then it took an additional 50 mins to get our food and when it arrived the meats were so dry and tough that we could barely swallow them (meat and chicken fajitas and carne asada). The tamales (appetizer) were good. The Margaritas were great. The restaurant was really busy, and we waited at least 80 mins for our food. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. We won’t be back.
So accommodating for our group and our DDs. Thank you!
Given its size and popularity the food kind of suffers. It is not bad, just mass market premade sort of comfort food. The noise level on this 2 floor restaurant bar is very high with 2 bars in the upper floor, perhaps it is quieter in the summer with the windows and retactable doors open. Probably a good place to meet someone, but not a place I would recomend for food , or a date.
Mission Navy Yard is one of my favorite brunch places! As always, I recommend the Mexi Bennies but was feeling a greedy on Sunday so I also ordered the Apple Cinnamon Fresh Toast which was also delightful! The flavor whipped cream was sweet yet light. The toast was topped perfect with an apple filled compote and the bread was prepared well. Definitely recommend!
Service was SUPER SLOW. Food was good.
We loved our server but he had at lot of tables and we were a little neglected. Overall, our experience was still good.
Service was good, very busy place. Chicken wings were good and tamales great. Tacos were yummy. Queso fundido was worst I’ve ever had. More like a cheese sauce than classic fundido and the cotija gave it a weird texture. Drinks were good. Lousy selection of wine.
The restaurant is amazing and the food is excellent!!!
I enjoyed it for the most part, but was a little underwhelmed with the food options.
The food was truly mediocre. Chorizo taco, chicken taco, and fish taco were all dry. Fun bar to watch a game at but never eating here again.
great to watch sports
extremely friendly staff
Ate at a table before a the baseball playoff game so the place was at a crazy noise level and incredibly crowded. So am giving them a break on the fact that food had cooled off before we received it.
Service was still good and margaritas were still great. If conditions are really crowded you are better off eating at one of the bars.
Went for Nats World Series watching...was ok with the crowd but the house margarita was salty, the steak was super salty and the chicken was flavorless. I’m hoping food was only subpar due to attempting to accommodate the impending crowd.
This was our first visit to Mission. Was relatively empty, but it was a Monday night. However, despite all the available area on the first level and the bar section of the second level, we were taken through to a back section where we had to squeeze through a large group of people (appeared to be some sort of networking event). I couldn't even hear what the hostess was saying to me, the group was SO loud. My husband and I had to practically yell to have a conversation, and I think that the server brought the wrong beer because she misheard what I said. Did not care for the chips at all - very thick and hard (think Stacy's pita chips, greasy and on steroids). I ordered 3 different kinds of tacos (which I thought $5 was a bit much for). Although the flavor was pretty good, I expected the fish taco to be fresh/grilled, not a fish stick. The beef taco had AMAZING flavor, very smoky. I was pretty full by the time I got to my chorizo taco, so I had only one bite of it - had some good kick! My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas. I tried a bite, and thought they were just ok. I will definitely go back and try something else. Hopefully I can carry on a conversation without yelling.
